This channel is amazing! Congrats for your great work!!! BTW, can I ask you a question? There seem to be some dynamics in the hi-hat, the even numbered hits sound softer than the odd numbered ones. Is there some kind of specific drum notation I could use to signify it if I wanted to (I mean, other than the standard dynamics notation)?
Consider that the hi-hat part and the snare drum/bass drum part are independent. They must each be 4 beats long at the end of the bar. Hence the quarter sigh on the last beat. If the bass drum snare drum part had been attached to the hi-hat, there would have been a space instead of the quarter sigh. I don't know if I'm clear.
@@Tomdrum34 I just don't see how this is different from leaving it blank (only the hi hat) Without the rest, I would still only play only the hi hat, just like we do on every other note that is only hi-hat, and those don't have rests.
Theoretically, the note before that is a 8th note and covers 2 16th notes, so the 1st beat of the 4th count is uncounted for, so you needa put a 16th note rest in that slot. Technically when you're playing/sight-reading you just know you don't have to play anything there (for basskick/snare/toms) and can "ignore" it.
Choose a beat to practise:
0:09 Groove 1 - slow
0:52 Groove 1 - fast
1:20 Groove 2 - slow
2:03 Groove 2 - fast
2:32 Groove 3 - slow
3:15 Groove 3 - fast
3:43 Groove 4 - slow
4:27 Groove 4 - fast
4:55 Groove 5 - slow
5:38 Groove 5 - fast
6:06 Groove 6 - slow
6:49 Groove 6 - fast
7:17 Groove 7 - slow
8:01 Groove 7 - fast

Thanks for doing these videos! What does the snare notation with the parentheses around it mean? 🤔
They’re ghost notes - notes played very softly!

Hi sir, could you please upload country music rythm please
Why does groove 3 have a rest note? Why not just leave it blank?

You have to write the rest, unless you have vertical lines to connect the bass hits to the hihat 16ths.
