I think I may have mentioned before that the Koreans love love love karaoke and the men go crazy for Hong Gi (and Kim Kyung Ho Korea's rocker). "Future" "Out Of Love" "Crying In The Rain" live are soooo goodm My fav little video on here is where Seungkwan from Seventeen gets to sing "Wind" live with Hong Gi in the radio studio (Hong Gi had a radio gig), Seungkwan is so excited as Hong Gi is his fav singer, The two other members of Seventeen DK and Hoshi (I think) are there and they are even more excited as they know how much Seungkwan loves Hong Gi and their reaction is brilliant.. Hong Gi is known as Mr. Emotion, but he is also very very funny on all the reality shows. People also go crazy for a song he does with the singer from N Flying Hwe Seung called "Still Love You" a bit slow for me but it shows off both their vocal talents. Oh I could go on and on
I would also separately suggest listening to honky, for example, the OST for the game is very positive -The Quattuor - Elsword character theme song, "El's Word," By Lee HONG KI
I could imagine how many terrible covers you'd hear in the karaoke bar trying to sing like Hong Gi lol he's got kind of an extraordinary voice and would be a little complex to xover

FTISLAND should be observed during their live😁 honestly they're crazy good I went to one of their concerts in Japan and my mind is blown. Hongki sounds incredible live. Just find their live on RUclips
FT Island has had to promote a lot in Japan because Korea doesn't really do rock music, except for rock ballads and pop sounding songs, so their best rock music comes from their Japanese catalogue. Freedom is pretty good. It has more of a classic rock sound.
Omg your comment on their resemblance of MCR was exactly what I was thinking this whole time! I found an old interview where a member actually claimed that they were a fan, so I guess that's why some of their self-produced songs back then were somewhat inspired. That's great tho, both are my favorite bands!
Thank you for your reaction!! They have been around for 16 years now. They are first k-idol band. They have many popular songs in Korea and very well known for Ballad. But they do more rock songs in Japan. I recommend ‘Shadow’ and ‘Beautiful’ for their Japanese songs. Their live is Amazing !!!! Hongki the lead singer can run, splint or even eat banana and his voice is still stable and powerful.

Yesung from Super Junior has included a cover of C.h.a.o.s.m.y.t.h., a song by Japanese rock band ONE OK ROCK, on his latest Japanese album. It might be fun to check out both versions. It's a fantastic song in all its incarnations.

PRAY is one of their heavier sounding rock songs, and i love it alot, but personally I prefer Take Me Now +Lose. I really recommend checking them if you haven't already... Such a dope era

It reminds me a lot of the ONE OK ROCK cover by Yesung that @kl2894 mentioned already in the comments and it's making me wish for a collab between him and FT Island.

This was the moment that Yesung became my bias in SuJu though. Just Yesung standing at the mic stand with that voice. SMTown really got me through that first month. I also remember that it was the first concert for SuJu's Eunhyuck since his dad had passed a few months earlier, and he was emotional but also absolutely professional and killed their performance and was also later smiling with various SM friends from NCT, Girls Gen, Shinee etc. So I found a lot of comfort in him as well. I really love how much SM is a family even if the company seems to be the shits. So yeah, highly recommend Yesung's cover. It's very meaningful to me.
