Episode 2 just released. We've had some amazing times and covered lots of ground already. Hope you like it! Yvette and Darcy --> ruclips.net/video/pwWn2-MeaQw/видео.html
I hope that you had your rigging checked . It's alway great to have your madt in vertical position. I'm anxious to watch your videos . The BC coast is beautiful but not covered by many RUclipsrs. Take care !
Just found you. The pirate attack was so scary. My son says people do it as click bait. It is very real. I told him that. Thought I would start at the beginning. Both your smiles have got me watching. Also, I have wanted to sail for years. Looking forward to your journey. I will be bobbing along with you. Rosie ❤
We have owned 2 Proust including a built to our specs Quasar. You are going to love sailing this boat. We made 6 Atlantic crossings, raised 2 children and called the boat home for almost 20 years. If I were a year under 75 and my wife was still aging, we would still be at sea on a Prout built boat. This lady will still be crossing oceans after every modern charter catamaran has been sent to the land fill.
We love this boat too! We are very happy to hear you made 6 Atlantic crossings on a Prout and happy to bring back fond memories for you. Thanks for the lovely comment.
I’m going back to the beginning of all your videos and gonna enjoy binge watching them and catch back up to present time. Looking forward to going along with you guys in your adventures.😅
I found y’all’s channel today and I just want to say I’m hooked!!! I hope coconut is doing amazing, I’ll need to watch some of the newer videos soon to see if she’s still aboard. I hope y’all have an amazing and safe holiday:) sending love from Wisconsin!!!
Looking forward to your adventures , Just remember " There are Old sailors and Bold sailors but never Old Bold sailors" Cheers and Fair Winds, Mick Geelong Australia.
We really could have used that advice a couple of days ago... You might not want to watch the video we just released... We will take that advice from now on! 🙂
Happened upon you because I love critters and Coco showed up. Subbed and now binge watching your amazing adventures while packing up to start my own new journey. Y'all are delightful and thank you for the life you are giving precious Coco. Her eyes!!!
We can't believe so many people are so interested in what we are doing. We will definitely have lots of boat work in most of our videos, because we still have a huge list left. :)
So cool this video has reached South Africa! Hope you like the rest of the videos that are out. We are currently living this Friday's video and we think it's going to be a really good one. :)
Fantastic and well done. Cat of this era were built like two mono's strong but heavy. I met a Quasar owner who stripped a lot of weight out of his and improved the performance. He told me he removed nearly half a ton of unnecessary wire alone but at your age there's no hurry!
We are looking for ways we can save weight because we have added some weight (such as hard top and dinghy davits). We definitely have some old wiring to strip out and we had not put it on the to do list yet so thanks for reminding us. :)
WOW, great job. Just as an aside, my father and mother used to build catamarans on commission. Their retirement plan was to sail the world in one they built for themselves, unfortunately that didn’t happen. Love your videos. Just getting around to watching this one. You caught me, hook line and sinker, with the castaway video.😽
Cool that your mom and dad built boats, sorry they didn't get to live there dream. We have heard some other stories like that and that's why we just left before the boat was done, we didn't want to get stuck on the dock. the videos that you may be watching next are some of our favorites, Alaska was just amazing! In other news Coco is doing really well and eat lots, still a ways to go but she will get there :-)
Thanks heaps :-) our Alaska videos were some of our favorite, just after we left the dock in Vancouver, We release videos every Friday in real time, so if you see it in a video we just did it. That means that any comments on what we can do better/different are very useful :-) We hope you will enjoy some of our other videos :-)
You two have really saved that old soul of a boat. I'm a sucker for the older designs like yours and when transformed are gorgeous. Great job, you should be proud of yourselves. Happy sailing.
I saw ep 72 but didn't watch 30 seconds of it so I'm watching from the beginning. I love y'all videos so far. I love the ocean even though I've been to it, never even a good swimmer lol. I love boats and would like to go sailing even though I've never been on a boat nor have experience with boats, sailing but yeah
It’s a journey shaped as you go and you have the ingredients for a great start, the both of you. I can’t sail any longer due to stroke caused blindness but I wish you fair winds and many sunny days. Happy sailing are my wishes from Fayetteville, NC. USA.
Thanks very much for the amazing comment. If we are ever in the same spot we would be happy to give you a boat tour and take you for a day sail if weather permits :) Happy you liked the first video, hope you enjoy the rest. We are excited to have you along for the journey :)
Just came across your channel today!! What an awesome Catamaran!! Love the Supernova name for sure!! You both have worked so hard so far and I truly look forward to your future refits to the boat and also your travels and adventure!! Be safe and God Bless!! Sully, from Rochester, NY
It definitely does help us learn the boat. It would be nice if the work wasn't so worky lol and if we ever were going to do another boat we have definitely learned enough to do it better! :)
When I saw pink in my recommended videos, I knew it could only be one boat. Nice job! The hardest part about a project like that is to keep going. Glad to see you're out sailing.
What an amazing and interesting catamaran. Furling mainsail on a cat is pretty rare. You guys put in a huge amount of work! That is a great accomplishment, kudos to you both.
The furling mainsail is pretty rare especially on a 1986 cat. It's already saved our bacon once so we are happy to have it :) Still lots of work to go so thanks for the encouragement :)
Nice video! When I saw how long it was I fully expected to fast forward through it but watched every second! Amazing amount of work and whats even more amazing is you both stayed happy and focusded throughout.... Brilliant! I have subscribed as Id like to see where you go with this. I have a good feeling from you two 😊 Great work and good luck with the future!
Wow that's great to hear. We are both pretty good at keeping our eye on the prize, there was definitely some tough times but whoever is feeling down gets picked up by the other person. Glad to be out on the water now though! :)
Props guys, I love what you’re doing. Love seeing the trials, errors, challenges and SUCCESSES!! But I must say, hearing you pronounce ‘router’ as ‘rooter’ almost killed me, I was mid sip with a hot cup o’ coffee.
In an adjustable table what u need aside from flat wood is durable hinges and support bars and try to find some ideas in utube or Google depending on what design r how you want it to extend or to fold them 37:35
We may look at a table with hinges for outside, but the one inside we are probably going to leave just going up and down. At least for now. Support bars maybe in the near future though. :)
You can definitely make those dreams come true. Check out our second episode that we just released. We've already had such a great time since casting off. If you have any questions let us know and we'd be very happy to answer them. Here's the link to episode 2, hope you enjoy :) ruclips.net/video/pwWn2-MeaQw/видео.html
Wow that's a huge compliment, we will be mixing boat jobs in with cruising for most of our videos. We have 3 others out right now, check them out if you have time :)
So cool that you're watching from half way around the world. Thinking about crossing the Atlantic in May. Hope you like the video coming out tomorrow ☺
Thanks so much 😊 We hope you like our sailing videos too, we plan on putting a lot of boat jobs in those videos as well. We still have a long list of stuff to get done :)
Loved the video. Love the colors. At 35 min, you need to get some ventilation behind that refrigerator. With more ventilation, it will pull less power and cool faster.
Glad you love the video and colours! Thanks for the advice, we are going to look at the specs for the fridge again. There is a lot more space behind the fridge than appears in the video because there was a cupboard behind the counter. Definitely keep the advice coming, as we probably make a lot of mistakes that we don't realise.
Ill second that - the fridge is a heat exchanger, pull heat out to cool the inside of the box and put the heat outside the box. Adding some slotted louvers for cool air to come in behind it and hot air to exit will make it run more efficiently and draw less electricity.
Loving this. this channel will be huge... Great to see the POV drone footage and all the skills. nice edit as well. you might benefit from radio microphones like the Rode or DJI ones especially in wind and echoey locations. cant wait do see what you get up to....
We did get a better mic after this, we started out with no filming and editing experience so this has been a lot to learn, I hope it shows that we are working hard to make better videos every time :-)
When you don't know anything to begin with, the only choice is to learn on the go or not do it lol and there's no way we're missing out on this adventure! Happy to have you along for the ride :)
Diesel heaters are fantastic . They do make a huge amount of heat near the blower but they use so little fuel. As long as you consider the heat right near the diesel heater the things work great. Had one in my big rig and it was fantastic
Thanks for the tips, we thought about permanently removing it, but we are probably just going to install it in a different location. It's great to have a trucker along for the adventure, I'm sure you have some crazy stories from the road! :)
I just came across your channel today, being Canadian myself I`m glad to see more Canadian content...love your videos and the content is well worth the watch, keep up the good work.
G’day guys. Love the enthusiasm and your sense of adventure. Another Aussie - from Sydney whose just sailed for the first time on a cat in Whitsundays and we’re hooked. We plan to do some more sailing before buying a cat. Keen on the med. Subscribed and will be following. Good luck guys and safe travels.
That's so cool, it doesn't take much to get hooked on the sailing life does it?! Always great to have more Aussies on board :) We are keen on the Med too!
Great first video. Came up to it more or less by incident but loved every minute of it. Great job done! Very curious to all of your sailing adventures. Keep up the spirit! Rgds.
You are definitely right to go for the larger table, you could always slice it in half and hinge it for when you need the extra space to move around the cabin..
Incredible first video and congratulations on starting your adventures sailing. This is the way sailing videos should be for refits. Im definitely going to follow your channel and look forward to new videos.❤
Just found your channel....awesome straightforward and fun to watch you two going through the motions in what seems like a awesome refit...look forward to watching your journey...PS clever very clever table solution you can now relax and make sure the table size is eventually correct and functional.
So far we are loving the large table and don't think we will be cutting it smaller, thinking about hinges though. Glad you found the channel and are liking it so far 😊
Hi guys, just come across your channel. Wow what a amazing job you are both doing on this catamaran. Can’t wait to see it finished and start sailing after all your hard work , Cliff from Logan City Queensland Australia 🇦🇺 from the big island 🏝️
Glad you took a break afte doing the table. You were looking burned out bro. Sometimes you gotta just take some time off to rest. Looking great, lots of work for sure. :)
Nice job, we have 1987 40’ Hitchhiker Catamaran, still chipping away, we have cruised the QLD coast/ Barrier Reef for two seasons so far. My mate and 88 year old mentor advised to use her as much as possible before doing too much. Great advise, good luck with it all, it is worth it🙏
We are really happy we started before finishing everything. We have already changed our minds about 2 or 3 jobs we thought we needed to do before we left. Happy you like the videos so far :-)
Episode 2 just released. We've had some amazing times and covered lots of ground already. Hope you like it! Yvette and Darcy --> ruclips.net/video/pwWn2-MeaQw/видео.html

We really could have used that advice a couple of days ago... You might not want to watch the video we just released... We will take that advice from now on! 🙂
“You know your sinks fancy when it comes in a bag.” Words of wisdom.
Darcy's full of them sometimes 🙄😂
Old school radar is definitely pretty rad! Thanks for adding that bit.
We thought it was pretty cool too!

Really enjoyed the honest and down to earth adventure.
Thanks for the feedback😁
Man that old depth gauge and radar are so nostalgic! Don’t know if you already sent them to electronics recycling but would be awesome to have!!
Where were you months ago when no one wanted them. We put up an ad and everything.. it was super cool

Hi guys, just come across your channel. Wow what a amazing job you are both doing on this catamaran. Can’t wait to see it finished and start sailing after all your hard work , Cliff from Logan City Queensland Australia 🇦🇺 from the big island 🏝️
Glad you liked it, we have two more videos out now so check them out if you want to :) Nice to a fellow Aussie following along!

Glad you took a break afte doing the table. You were looking burned out bro. Sometimes you gotta just take some time off to rest. Looking great, lots of work for sure. :)
We had been up for like 36 hours at that point... we needed that break lol
Amazing job refitting the boat. Looking forward to following your adventures.
Thanks mate! More adventures to come shortly :)
