This scene is one of the most memorables from the movie, such an iconic moment! And it's the first time we get to see Eugene and Rapunzel getting closer it's, like the beginning of their romance 💖💖💖
Abkhaz sounded like he wanted to kill Rapunzel, lol 😂😂 Also, Bulgarian wasn't that good, but he has something funny...
My ultimate favourites here were: Albanian, Croatian, Danish, Dutch, English, Flemish, Greek, German, Italian, Lithuanian, Norwegian, Quebec French, Swedish & Turkish. From all of them, Flemish Eugene sounded the most beautiful imo, he has so much youth and humility, he gives you understand that Eugene is something more than a romantic thief! And his shyness in this scene made me melt!! Perfection..👌👌👌
And of course I cannot forget the Romanian version. Although his acting here is not my favourite, the idea for giving his real name was brilliant, it indeed makes his performance more personal and special!

Guys the German one just copied the English version, it's not the actual way to say it like a 'real german'. Eugene in German is eugen and pronounced very different. (More like the slovak one for instance)

@@diokles actually, José isn't a "translation" to Portuguese. there's another name "Eugênio" which is more close to the original one, but in the Brazilian version there's a joke with "José Bezerra" for being a really common first name and a quite "funny" for sounding a lot more like a "Grandpa's name"

I'm Italian and my name is Eugenio, the Italia equivalent of Eugene (which as a name has Greek origins).
It's not a very popular name nowadays, it's considered to be rather outfashioned and I've never met another Eugenio except for my maternal grandpa, who was adopted and his name was the only thing his birth parents left to him before leaving him at the clinic. Remember: it's early '30s fascist Italy what we are talking about, and only wealthy ladies could access to clinics to give birth, so this makes my grandpa's origins even more mysterious (maybe he was a love child or his true parents couldn't simply keep him despite their presumed wealth and no one knows why).
My grandpa was later adopted by a loving couple and finally found a true family (he also had an older sister), but he was also very attached to his birth name and asked for my mother to name me Eugenio. Not a popular name for someone who was born in 2002, but it means a lot to me.
Just imagine how I felt when I saw Tangled and I got to this scene.
I know that in the series (a series I haven't watched yet) his father reveals that his birth name was supposed to be Horace but you know, he's still Eugene canonically speaking and everyone calls him that (starting by Rapunzel herself).
