What I’ve heard from some people Elvis did not want to get married. From a couple MM and another one was his cook and she said Elvis was upset because he did not want to get married. So why make it look like he was madly in love with Priscilla??????? The only thing that came good from the marriage was his daughter Lisa Marie. Lisa was 😢he love of his life. He was really interested in the different religions, confused about a lot of things but he continued to read. Even the women he dated told of how he read the Bible or books like that all the time!! He knew religion and Christ!! If his followers held signs that said “King” he would tell them there was only one King and that was Jesus Christ! So no one can say if he did or didn’t, only Elvis himself knew! I believe he did because he was so kind to people and never hurt anyone!

Elvis is still the greatest and is still loved and missed by people from all over the world. I am thankful for all of the great music and entertainment that Elvis left us to enjoy. Joe was a good employee on the financial part but he was also Parker's snitch. He called Parker and was always keeping him informed about what Elvis was doing. Lamar Fike said that Elvis figured it out and that's why when Joe quit Elvis didn't ask him to come back. Lamar said that Joe Esposito called him and ask if he thought Elvis would take him back. Joe said that he wasn't doing good financially and couldn't make enough money to survive. Lamar talked to Elvis and Elvis ask Lamar if they needed him and Elvis told Lamar to send Joe a ticket to come back to Graceland. After Elvis let Joe come back Joe was more careful about telling Parker everything that Elvis was doing unless Parker called him and ask him. Elvis had a heart of gold.

I really enjoyed over all this interview. I agree with Joe that the 68 Comeback Special was when Elvis looked the best he ever did. Another thing I noticed is on his wedding day he looked very handsome. He had Charisma he had Talent. And I capitalized those two words because there's not too many people who have that combination today. He was generous and giving. I did feel that Joe lost over a lot of the areas of the dark side of Elvis. But even the news reports did at that time because everyone tried to cover it up. Unfortunately his addiction to prescription pills was his end. It made the people closest to him crazy because they could do nothing to help him. Priscilla loved him and I think he loved her too. But unfortunately he didn't see Other Woman as a downfall. And no one could control his drug use. Things were spiraling. However because of his death when it happened it made him bigger and bigger and bigger. People loved him while he was alive but even fans who never were born love Elvis. I was just about 13 when he died and I remember hearing the news. It made me very sad. But to see what Elvis has grown to today is phenomenal. I don't believe they'll be another Elvis ever.

Lovely really enjoying it listening to all the stories. Elvis sounds a really genuine person. And you can tell joe loved Elvis. I wonder if he tried to help Elvis when he started down the road with drugs. I hope so because a true friend would be truthful. Even if Elvis didn't like ❤

Joe had to balance his friendship/loyalty with his buddy Elvis with his loyalty to The Colonel, which must've taken quite a bit of finesse . He really did a great job. I wish I had the chance to meet him.

    • @Della624

TBH, Joe's Loyalty always was with Elvis not the Colonel. Joe's job was right hand man to Elvis, close friend and Road Manager. He was the go-between between Colonel Parker and Elvis because Elvis did not want anything to do with the business side of things, so Joe would get messages from the Colonel about the business, bookings and so on, he'd pass them on to Elvis and Elvis would give him messages to pass back to the Colonel. Charlie Hodge once revealed that Elvis felt there were only five people around him that he could absolutely trust, Joe, Charlie, Billy, Geller & Jerry and I think it was proven to be a good call on his part since there have been a fair few others before and after Elvis' death (including Priscilla Presley) who's made money from their association with him and not given a sh*t if it was good stuff or bad stuff being revealed. For instance Joe only wrote books and sold his stuff because of his first wife's Cancer treatment cost the earth, but whatever he had to say or write it was always with love. Several of the others not so much, and again that includes Priscilla Presley.

@@Della624 Why did you need to mention about Cilla Elvis was happy with her! Everyone has made money from Elvis in a way why single her out! Just remember Elvis estate would have gone to the dogs if she had only talked a good talk. She made it happen with her being the trustee with this being the most tangible reason to keep GL from being sold.

We met Joe Esposito in Las Vegas and we can honestly say, he was a true kind gentleman. He invited both my husband and I back to his hotel where we had a drink and sat and talked. Think people surround themselves with like minded people.

It's been a pretty good experience....I met a lot of people. Bless his heart & wish that it could've been a lot different for Elvis but there was nobody before him to have that level of success.
Thanks Joe for a brilliant synopsis of the life of Elvis.
