I only stumbled upon this song several years ago. It is hands down one of the most magical songs I’ve ever heard. I have to be honest. I do like the final version better than the demo, but as a fan of music it’s so cool seeing the steps taken toward that final draft. Epic music.
For me.. after listen to a final of this song.. i love this demo rendition, it has a so called another flare and intonation rhythm. I love this demo more actually the final song
mother of god that is brilliant. it's incredibly experimental yet completely pop with plenty of hooks. the best music has always harnessed the power of both...this does.
@LJChaz i love that song but i have always loved that song black tangled heart more , when it comes to silverchair , they are the vincent van goh's of our time and might not be loved now but years in the future people will hear the music daniel john made and go WTF , why did the rest of the world at that time not listen to his brilliance ?
Thank you so much! I've been searching around and asking people what it was for about a year now and just couldn't find it! You don't happen to know what vocal effects he uses live do you? I was looking into what he was using for the Across the Great Divide tour and the new effects he was using for Groovin' The Moo in 2010.
That's EXACTLY the reason why I treasure that album!!! Emotion Sickness is a real MASTERPIECE, for me, in the top of my personal altar, my fav of all times, through all genres. I just can't even describe how much that song means to me... 🖤
best song I've ever heard. too underrated, makes me sad

The “people sleeping” i wish would have stayed in the album version but both versions are absolute genius so it’s ok 😭🙌🏻

The demo is the best version
What a magnificent song.
if this song ends at 3:51 it would be a great song as well...the next part is a fucking great bonus xd
However you listen to this song, original, demo, acoustic...is always such a piece of art!

This demo will be the death of me

I like from 3:16 to 3:53. It's very different from the album version. But it's even cooler to me.

mainly only preamp and eq on his voice. reverbs and delays carefully used too. the rest you listen are syncd recordings
Genius.
A 21 year old wrote this
So did your mom
A true genius
AWESOMEEEEEE!
thanks!!
You don't by any chance know how to get that vocal effect that is on Dan's voice do you?
he doubles his vocals and through good pres and compression
Yeah double tracked with compression
I ♥ this one big time!!!
soo much fuckin better than the studio version
@spaman3 Across The Night Single :D
Neon Ballroom is by far their best musical album... you can't argue with Emotion Sickness

They could remix the original to sound like that
