Kydan bommer, yes thats true mate. The police knew who did it from the very start, and alot of them were on the guy who did its payroll. So the police had to protect him and got billy love to do a deal who was looking at 12 year for armend robbery. But not if he signend a statement saying he heard tc and joe steele saying they lit the fire in the netherfield bar, then love would walk out the door with all charges dropped. It was totally fucking sickening what they rats did to tc and joe. Plus let them do 16 year then released them. What they do with most if not all lifers that appeal against convinction. So either way the police and courts still win but then try and look good after 16 years by quashing there convictions.
Gary Moore allegedly lit the match. That guy did some really bad things and is responsible for, I'd say Glasgows most famous unsolved killing. He killed Jimmy Boyles son too, allegedly. The prostitutes aswell, some say he'd a hand in a couple of these, allegedly. He's dead now.
I'm a 48 year old man who was born in Glasgow but raised in Essex, we went to rachazi every year and waiting for the van was something different to England and we loved it, we could never have believed that the violence that was behind it all, but that said,,, the people in Glasgow are such good people and it's only a few who make people think it's full of nasty gangsters
Very good . I read about that shocking case a few year back , in Paul Ferris book , vendetta . Puts a whole new look on the case when you see the 2 fellas and the people who supported them in the flesh. Heads should have rolled by now , surely ? Stay safe.
Lex Reynolds was an old friend of mine, he was handcuffed to a radiator in the cop shop and battered silly, he was taken to the royal because he was basically drowning from internal bleeding. All he did was try and steal a volvo estate that was used in shooting the windscreen out the ice cream van. Last time I saw Lex was in the crisis centre in 2002. Tamby was another one taken in, my ex girlfriend knew him, only met him the once, big massive beard on him and was quite polite.
kids all going out in the freezin cold for pokey hats and a bottle of ginger with a side of murdur please. Everyone reckons drugs but in these early days it wasn't. I remember, we had ice cream wars in EK too and it was savage. Ooooh, the Jesus and Mary Chain in the music!!!
Tavy@ the police knew who did this from the start. But alot of them knew the guy who paid some one to light the match, they were on his payroll and he was a grass for the serious crime squad and the scottish crime squad and mi5. If he ever got into any trouble some one like his wife had a direct phone number to the top man of the serious crime squad to come and get him free and safely driven away. And one day this was witnessed by at least 40 people in there own street as the local police were taking him out the house with the craw pulling back and saying am no going a havent did anything and 5 minutes later the serious mob drove up and said get those 'fucking' cuffs off him your arresting a good witness?? Witness to what? Said the local mob with a bit of laughter as they already knew what he meant. They said fuck off hes our prisoner now. So the serious mob started fighting with the local mob and it was each man for heself so a good few of the local young team jumpend in and started battering any cop they could get, well a fights a fight while mcgraw just stood there watching as if his legs didnt work anymore. Then the local mob gave in and let mcgraw go free. The fight only lasted about 3 minutes. Nae stamina those local young cops, they took a back seater and took the cuffs off mcgraw and handed him to the serious mob. At the end of the street big tc campbell stood and watched all this from behind a bush and wouldnt have believed it if he hadnt saw it. This was in 1980 or 81 and tc had been in mcgraws house before the cops came and got out of his house fast, as he was drincking tea out of the blue the phone rang and mgraw answerd it and said ok jimmy right then jimmy ok jimmy thancks jimmy its ok am clean right cheerio. And put the phone down. Tc said who was that? And mcgraw said it was jimmy telling me the cops are on there way to lift me, but its ok theres nothing in the flat so its a waste of time. And tc said no if they bring some thing with them its no. Ok am out of here. And mcgraw said naw a need a witness just stay its ok. So tc said aye and a dont need a co-accused al see ye later tam and out he went and stood about 100 yards down the end of the street and at the end as the serious mob drove mcgraw to freedom he saw tc standing at the corner watching and didnt like it one bit, as he knew tc saw everything, from the warning in the flat to then taken mcgraw off the local cops. Tc wonderd if some one has that amount of protection then whats he really given them in return. Money mcgraw had it and lots of it, even in 1981. But he never thought mcgraw would get his pet poodles thats what he called his paid police to put tc and wee joe away for life. Tc said we all knew mcgraw was paying the police money and alot at that just to turn a blind eye since we did the rspo's since at least 1972, and it had always been a good earner. The mob got paid to leave us alone, or to tip us off, plus we made money and they made money. It was hard to see what was wrong with that? No one went to jail and its better to have a cop or two thats willing to help you instead of getting cought. By 1978 i would say the craw had 3 detective sergeants 2 detective inspectors and about 4 to 6 detective constables on his payroll, and thats not counting how many pc's. It just couldnt be proved if he was trading in bodys, he knew if that got out he was finnished for good. Especialy in 1978. They did a po and opend the safe in 1978 to find £168,000 pounds, between the craw, snadz and drew, alot of money then and sometimes we did two in the one night.
1980s the days of the fit ups when a plod would make up what you said while you were being arrested, even though you went no comment. the bias was on the side of the police in a incredible way, no matter what, in the eyes of the law the police were right.

You were right.
The dude that lied should be in jail now for making shit up
The cops who lied should be in jail

The main copper in the investigation killed himself 3 years after the convictions. Norrie something or another.

Did they still call it 'verballing' in the '80's?
@@micahbode5424 Not in my neck of the woods, I think they've always said in London, though.
What's the profit on selling ice cream in a van? Not worth killing for. Surely something more profitable was being sold
Probably selling drugs or stolen gear.
About £500+ a day on the right round. Pitches can earn even more.
This is just infuriating.
Did they ever find the real killer in the end or is it unsolved
Unsolved. The biggest scandal
Yes technically it's unsolved, but it was Gary Moore firestarter and Tam Mcgraw the paymaster.
I had followed this for years and I knew there was no way those two could've have done it, but who the hell did?
Gary Moore lit the match and Tam Mcgraw was involved as in putting him up to it.
