Another thing worth noting for anyone trying to practice any of the tips Alex showed, especially when trying to do these techniques in races: ANY collision with a player, traffic, cops, or wall will prevent you from earning any more burst nitrous and also make all burst nitrous used ineffective. These effects last for about a second after the collision.
Note: for those trying to get faster "Redline Tech" is mentioned in a pervious video. This technique is pretty easy to learn and it allows some cars (not all) to go faster then their stated top speeds.

“I don’t want to ruin my day with a linkup” lol. In all seriousness I wish they would have a mode for free roam online that didn’t have any linkups. I miss chilling driving around and being able to race without no one joining cause everyone just wants to do the dumb linkup
The linkups aren't the only problem, it's the pvp, the racers just do pvp now so freeroam is full of the linkuppers and cruisers. So yeah freeroam racing is in a poor state but at least some people do still race, mostly noobs trying to unlock cars
btw I agree with you and i wish the devs would hear us, we need to have two separate freeroams or something to separate the racers from those who don't race. My favorite part of unbound is having good freeroam races with randoms

Finally. Man I been looking for a vid like this. Feel like I’ve been in that area of skill were I can hold my own against most but there’s always a handful of races where I just get dunked on by one guy.

Barely a week in and still mostly on campaign but I've watched alot of content but none compares to this level of instruction.
1 quick question, any pointers on applying these to the R8?
The R8 needs additional braking input and sometimes releasing the throttle completely to start a micro drift.
55% grip has been my sweet spot

I would only add - the faster you go, the easier to accumulate the boost. So essentially if you are fast it is much easier to go even faster than from slow to just fast. Kinda geometric progression works here, and only skill issue may happen because of poor reaction time😅

Good video Alex. I find some of these difficult because I play with the keyboard.(dont judge, got GOAT at lvl 124) Seeing in action these mechanics they can make a big difference.

Amazing video Alex. Btw how much grip is basically recomended to use? 90% or something different? And does it also work with 100%? I dont think so but u can tell us 🙂
All these techniques work with both grip & drift.
The Vulcan has 100% grip.
Each car is going to respond different so once you learn the mechanics it's just about feeling out the car.
This is a great resource. Quick questions: Does the new handling model influence these techniques? Are the Audis drastically different from other cars when doing these?
The big difference with the Audis in GRIP is that it's harder to start a microdrift (it's harder for them to lose traction), but in most of the cases you can keep the microdrift while you're in a wiggle (which in grip is much much more difficult to do with other cars).
In general the Audis have a more stable handling than other cars. Except when you drive them in DRIFT... there it starts the nightmare
@@eddie0Fll would you want to see the audi handling on all cars? i personally wouldnt. they dont microdrift easily and their steering feels weird

I'm not playing grip anymore. I rarely use a grip Testarossa in B class, so it's not a problem for me.
Except the DRIFT R8 in A+. I rarely play it, and i hate it in most of the times... it's super good at doing the U turns (like the one in Buena Vista), which is the most difficult thing to do in drift, but the handling is super omega sensitive.
Sometimes, when there are turns near walls and I boost, the cars grips a lot and i crash into the wall because i'm going very fast and it's too sensitive.
Please let’s tell EA to add the option to report cheating, there’s people out there starting the races with 3 bars of yellow boost and having faster pvp cars when everyone have the same car.
there is no option to report cheating because A) there would be a million false reports and B) it's impossible to prove unless EA themselves were recording all the races, just block the offender, they gave you the block option for a reason

Dead zone is based on what your controller tolerance is.
Mine is quite low because I have a good controller.
I noticed in the second area that when you were brake tapping, you were also releasing gas at the same time. Is that just a habbit or is there a reason behind it?
Another thing I noticed the other day when I was practising microdrifts in a new build was that I only needed to tap the brake a tiny bit, like 5-10% total braking power. Which to me felt like I wasn't dropping as much speed.
3rd, thanks for poiting out that it can't reward the grip boost if you use the drift boost too late. I noticed I wasn't getting rewarded for the grip part of a microdrift. I gotta learn to spend the drift boost sooner.
Does using grip tires allow you to wiggle and maintain a higher speed?

Once you actually start to practice both braking techniques you'll know what to use depending on corner

Another tip for players is to stay out of other people's way because you might think they're trying to hit you, but whole time you could have just got in the way of their line 🤷

Yellow boost is such a shitty comeback mechanic. Micro drifting is a crutch.

@@alexcornnut To me micro-drifting or doing the wiggle just to to keep yellow boost is something that wasn’t intended to be part of the gameplay. There’s a reason a 3-bar goes down so quickly if you don’t use it. Using “grip” & “drift” during a turn to get a 3-bar at the end has to be a design flaw. It isn’t true grip driving or drifting, it’s like you’re tricking the game into thinking you’re doing both during a turn to get a cheap 3-bar.
