"There is absolutely something there and you don't want to mess with it". Come, come, Andrew. That something would be "the brand" and this hard SF loving customer of Forbidden Planet finds it faintly depressing to see just part one of you so uncritically swallowing the lovely Yvette's light-entertainment reinvention of snake oil. All good spooky fun and all that but I see she's still - after long, weary years of this tripe - prefacing everything with rigorous fidelity to rationalism and the virtues of science and those 73 episodes in which nothing happened and then going right on ahead paying her mortgage from the dividends of Antix Productions and their slightly embarrasing ghost hunting franchise. "Most Haunted" clearly presses some very personal buttons for Yvette and good luck to her if she wants to be the next Anne Rice while the live events are stymied. Personally I'd love for her to get trolleyed off her socks one day and 'fess up to merrily fleecing the gullible but she long ago drank her own snake oil and the best I could hope for would be a bit less tacit normalisation of magical thinking, spurious correlations and crackpot Doris Stokes pseudoscience (all while studiously name-checking Dr Science, of course). I’ll pass on part two of Yvette’s latest business venture for the sake of my blood pressure but how about a bit of STEM balance with that nice astronaut turned author Chris Hadfield for your next interviewee? Ask him if he's ever been scratched by a demonic ghost...
