Crowley is hell's representative on earth (a demon) and Aziraphale is heaven's representative on earth (an angel.) After 6000 years on earth they have both found things that they love about the earth and prefer it over their "home offices." So when Armageddon is scheduled, they have to decide if they are going to work together to stop the end of the world or just let it happen. Of course, heaven and hell would punish them for a friendship, as they are supposed to be working against each other, not together. Good Omens is a great story with lots of weird characters and a fun plot - unless you are very religious, in which case you will probably get offended because the story is not remotely accurate from a biblical perspective. David Tennant (Crowley) and Michael Sheen (Aziraphale) have fabulous chemistry in this show.

They are not supposed to be friends but they have been on earth together (but on opposite sides) and over 6000 years they have become friends and fallen in love! ❤❤❤

A Remus Lupin/WolfStar, Blaine/Klaine and Dean Winchester fan here who currently believes the Ineffable Husbands surpass all of those for a couple of reasons. The casting of Aziraphale and Crowley for the TV series is legendary. Great actors and their chemistry together is undeniable. I don't think there is a review or reaction anywhere that doesn't comment on that. Michael and David, plus their families, even became great friends in real life during the filming. The second thing is, the Good Omens novel is over 30 years old and considered a cult classic. Eric Kripke of Supernatural has said that he created the angels and demons in Supernatural based on his impressions and memory of how they were presented in GO.
The angel and demon are partially based on the authors, Terry Prachett and Neil Gaiman. Several times over the 30+ years since it's publication there were attempts to create a film version with the last falling through because it was thought that American audiences wouldn't want to watch a film about Armageddon then. After the first series dropped, Terry Gilliam said he couldn't possibly have done the book justice like the series did with only a film's runtime. He's a huge fan of the book and now the TV series.
While Terry Prachett has sadly passed away, he requested that his BFF, Neil Gaiman see it through and get their story filmed so Neil was both screenwriter and show runner for the series. And many, many people involved both in front and behind the scenes are huge fans. There are so many layers to everything from the music, opening/closing credits, the costumes, all of the books in Aziraphales bookshop. There is a lot of love and care poured into the whole production. Season 1 was over budget and after Neil had cut all that he felt he could, he created a script book to be published and sold to fill the gap! And as for Crowley & Aziraphale's relationship, it's canon! NG has repeatedly said, it's a love story. 2 parts created and one final season will start filming next year.
Why tell her whether it's canon or not? She might watch the show and want to find out for herself lol

Just to address the pronounciation, Aziraphale is "a-zero-fell" and Crowley is "croh-lee" (pronounced like the bird crow, not like cow). Their ship name is either Ineffable Husbands (which is what I use lol) or Aziracrow (a-zeera-croh)
I personally eat up every single reaction video to Good Omens that exists, so I'd love it if you reacted to the full show. You would ADORE it.

Aziraphale is more like "Ah-Zee-Rah-Fail" than "A-Zero-Fell"
@RestInReeses Yeah, but when people aren't that familiar with it yet, I thought my way might be easier to remember in the moment. When you say it fast enough, there's not that much of a difference anyway.

Hi I just found your channel through this video and I absolutely love your reactions! I saw you mentioned in some comments that you'll be reacting to Good Omens on your channel, which I'm SO EXCITED about because it's one of my favorite shows ever and the ship especially has my whole heart. You said you were having trouble with copyright, so I have a little suggestion that might help. On youtube you're probably going to have to cut the reaction down a lot in order for you to be able to upload it, but if you wanted to you could create a Patreon page (if you don't have one already) and there you could upload the full reaction without any cuts and no issues with copyright either! That way the people who might want to see your full reactions could go on your Patreon page for a small fee, and they could find them there. And then of course if you do manage to get the edited versions up on youtube that would still be an option for those who don't want to pay for it. This is just a suggestion though, but I for one would very much love to see your uncut reactions to the full episodes! Either way though, I'm looking forward to seeing the reactions once you get them uploaded :)

They aren't specifically romantic or platonic, because those are human ideas. they are in love though, which all the creators have confirmed. it's just a very undefined love story. They also aren't men, and Gaiman has avoided labeling them as gay because of that.
