    His technique always fascinates me. His hands look stiff but his sound expresses no tension at all. And despite the speed, he seems to take his time to press every note. So unusual.

    왼손으로 노래하는게 긴장 탓인지 내가 칠땐 참으로 딱딱하게 쳐지던데 어쩜 이분은 왼손이 이렇게나 말랑말랑하게, 찰지게, 쫀득하게, 부드럽게, 여유있게 쳐진단 말인가ᆢ마치 모짜렐라 치즈같다 좌절이다OTL

    It was a perfect performance of technique that I didn't really think of as a participant. His fingers seem so enchanted to dance on the keyboard. His piano tone was also artistic and beautiful.

    The best version of Chopin Etude op 10 no 8 that I've ever heard so far. Crystal-clearly could hear left hand touch. Bright sound like a pebble rolling in clean stream.... Great!!

      +chidlers99 IMHO, Krystian Zimerman is better/more musical - not only technically mastering an Etude but also giving it his musical value (it deserves)! :D

    Tuve el placer de estar en su recital de Madrid del año pasado y confirmo que el virtuosismo de Rafal lo situa entre uno de los mejores pianistas de nuestra época. Es excepcional y perfecto. Desde otro estilo, auguro mucho exito a Alexander Lubyantsev, precoz pianista ruso, capaz de interpretar cualquier partitura, una fiera musical, comparable a Mozart o Beethoven.

    쇼팽이 직접친 에튀드를 들었으면 이런 느낌이었을것 같다.
    진짜 쇼팽이 원하는 것을 잘 알고 본인도 또한 느끼면서 치는느낌이다.
    쇼팽의 정석이다 라는 생각도 들고 짐머만같다는 생각도 든다.

      이 곡만 놓고 보면 짐머만보다 더 잘 치는듯요~ 짐머만은 이곡에서는 페달링을 너무 안해서 살짝 딱딱한 느낌이 많아요

    While this etude is all about the runs in right hand, he does a phenomenal job brining out the left. Really lets both voices sing.

    Currently one of my favorite pianists on the scene. His all Bach disc is pure delight. I don't see that he is performing much these days but maybe I am wrong. His website stops in the year 2015. Does anyone know?

    久し振りの将来の巨匠候補。時代を代表するピアニストの予感がします。ショパン以外もどんどん演奏をして欲しいですね。リストのラ・カンパネラとか、シューベルト即興曲なんかを演奏したらとても良さそうです。

    It's obvious to me, this young man studied with Chopin standing right behind him. Spirit teachers are not all that uncommon... among the great ones... if one knows what they're doing.

      I've played 10-4, and I thought this would be 'easier' in comparison. Boy was I wrong. Such a tiring and easily awkward piece.

      honestly i do that when i play piano also and i don't know why i do it. i don't know where i got it from but i do it every time i play something fast. i don't know if mr. blechacz does it the same way i do or if he trained himself to do it but i know i've just always done it

      It depends on the person, I personally had it stick out alot, and was told that wasnt right, and attempted to reteach myself, but it seemed anatomically, my pinky pinking staying out was a natural movement. So if you have it thats great, if you dont have it thats great.

    기술적 측면에서 연주자 라파우의 최고 장점은 양손의 이질성과 이를 이용한 균형감임. 매우 정석적이면서도 명확한 오른손과 다소간 자유로우면서도 유연한 왼손을 가졌으면서도, 이를 아주 조화롭게 이용할 줄 아는 균형감을 가지고 있음. 거기에 악절의 중요한 마디는 매우 명확하게 칠 줄 아는 견고함을 겸비함.
    이는 루바토 등 낭만시대 곡의 자아표출과는 대비되는 옹골참으로도 표현할 수 있으며, 동시에 21세기의 쇼팽 애호가들이 어떤 방향성을 원하는 지를 볼 수 있음.

      Shut your pie hole, are you 90 years old?? Blechacz plays Chopin like if he were Chopin incarnated. Blechacz was only 23 or 24 years old when he won the Chopin competition. If you don't like to hear him play, don't listen and don't spill nasty words from you mouth.

      Rubinstein lived in a different epoch. As an aspiring connoisseur you should know that trends in piano interpretation change. In the past the performers would take a piece and basically remake it according to their fancy. Today the trend is to get as close as possible to the original, i.e. to how the composer himself might have performed. Hence the uniformity of interpretations.
