His technique always fascinates me. His hands look stiff but his sound expresses no tension at all. And despite the speed, he seems to take his time to press every note. So unusual.
It was a perfect performance of technique that I didn't really think of as a participant. His fingers seem so enchanted to dance on the keyboard. His piano tone was also artistic and beautiful.
The best version of Chopin Etude op 10 no 8 that I've ever heard so far. Crystal-clearly could hear left hand touch. Bright sound like a pebble rolling in clean stream.... Great!!
Rafał to mój ulubiony współczesny młody pianista ... jego wykonanie jest bez zarzutu własne wokół wirtuoza. Życzę dużo sukcesów, mam nadzieję zobaczyć w Madrycie 22 marca. Bravo Rafal
Cudownie grasz Chopina dziękuję w moim imieniu i w imieniu mojej nauczucielki fortepianu niestety ja miałam za małą rękę i pozostało mi tylko słuchać Twoich cudownych wykonań
+chidlers99 IMHO, Krystian Zimerman is better/more musical - not only technically mastering an Etude but also giving it his musical value (it deserves)! :D
@YunZinLee I'm glad you liked the video, and I totally agree with your comment. Soon I'll upload more videos of Rafal Blechacz at the Chopin Competition 2005. I suppose you've seen the others who posted (Op.58, and the awards ceremony with the Polonaise 6)? Greetings from Santiago, Chile.
This young brother does not play! (No pun intended.) His interpretation exceeds even Murray Perahias and that’s a mighty tall order! I am beginning to think this pianist simply can do no earthly harm no how. Bravissimo! Paul W. Green
Currently one of my favorite pianists on the scene. His all Bach disc is pure delight. I don't see that he is performing much these days but maybe I am wrong. His website stops in the year 2015. Does anyone know?
It's obvious to me, this young man studied with Chopin standing right behind him. Spirit teachers are not all that uncommon... among the great ones... if one knows what they're doing.
honestly i do that when i play piano also and i don't know why i do it. i don't know where i got it from but i do it every time i play something fast. i don't know if mr. blechacz does it the same way i do or if he trained himself to do it but i know i've just always done it
It depends on the person, I personally had it stick out alot, and was told that wasnt right, and attempted to reteach myself, but it seemed anatomically, my pinky pinking staying out was a natural movement. So if you have it thats great, if you dont have it thats great.
Bloody hell all these guys are just like boring typewriters. NO warmth. No charm. You must listen to the rubinstein 1959 live performance in london. There you here the music.
Shut your pie hole, are you 90 years old?? Blechacz plays Chopin like if he were Chopin incarnated. Blechacz was only 23 or 24 years old when he won the Chopin competition. If you don't like to hear him play, don't listen and don't spill nasty words from you mouth.
Rubinstein lived in a different epoch. As an aspiring connoisseur you should know that trends in piano interpretation change. In the past the performers would take a piece and basically remake it according to their fancy. Today the trend is to get as close as possible to the original, i.e. to how the composer himself might have performed. Hence the uniformity of interpretations.
His technique always fascinates me. His hands look stiff but his sound expresses no tension at all. And despite the speed, he seems to take his time to press every note. So unusual.
Tension is a myth
@@herobrine1847?
From 1:54 the voicings are so precise. Left hand is singing well. Omg im crying. He’s so perfect. 🥺
It was a perfect performance of technique that I didn't really think of as a participant. His fingers seem so enchanted to dance on the keyboard. His piano tone was also artistic and beautiful.
Rafal has the best interpretation of this etude. Bravo!
This is the kind of playing one should aspire to.
1:22 That tinyyy tri chord scale passage kills me every time and he plays it so clear 🥲🎹
The best version of Chopin Etude op 10 no 8 that I've ever heard so far. Crystal-clearly could hear left hand touch. Bright sound like a pebble rolling in clean stream.... Great!!
Genialny pianista, wirtuoz i wielki mistrz. Brawo Rafał Blechacz.
Rafał to mój ulubiony współczesny młody pianista ... jego wykonanie jest bez zarzutu własne wokół wirtuoza. Życzę dużo sukcesów, mam nadzieję zobaczyć w Madrycie 22 marca. Bravo Rafal
I think Blechacz is the best pianist ever
Cudownie grasz Chopina dziękuję w moim imieniu i w imieniu mojej nauczucielki fortepianu niestety ja miałam za małą rękę i pozostało mi tylko słuchać Twoich cudownych wykonań
Piękno muzyki Fryderyka Chopina to fenomen graniczący z cudem.
Niesamowite dźwięki i budowa !
Amazing performance, one of the greatest I've ever heard.
The clearness is just.... Unbelievable..
BRAVO!
Chopin and the piano = paradise...
It really is a brilliant interpretation!
Excellent!
Pan Fryderyk Chopin jest dumą Polski! Cały naród jest z niego dumny! 🇵🇱
Wonderful technique and musical interpretation 👏
that brilliant staccato playing that I loved so much in horowitz and ashkenazy! I wish he becomes one of the greatest pianists of our age...
magnificent. Best recording I've ever seen/heard.
+chidlers99 IMHO, Krystian Zimerman is better/more musical - not only technically mastering an Etude but also giving it his musical value (it deserves)! :D
MusikPiratCH No you’re wrong.. This man is special and zimmerman is too. Rafal is so talented!
Awesome! Love the use of rubato!
Stunning performance.
Magnificent !!!
Brilliant!!!!
HE is a marvellous young pianist, my favorite.
he had that piano hummin. Full command.

the cleanest 10-8 ever
Perfection does exist 😑❤️
Just wow.❤
Przezajebiste.
He is magnificent
I usually refer to something like this as 'Beast Mode.'
wonderful

Greetings from Santiago, Chile.
Perfection.
damn that rhythm is too perfect on that minor mid section.
Very good

1:23 omg left hand sound is so clear
While this etude is all about the runs in right hand, he does a phenomenal job brining out the left. Really lets both voices sing.
Grazie. Ciao :-)
The Revival of Chopin! He looks like Chopin, he is also Polish!!
Anthony
I certainly agree!
Currently one of my favorite pianists on the scene. His all Bach disc is pure delight. I don't see that he is performing much these days but maybe I am wrong. His website stops in the year 2015. Does anyone know?
His website is probably outdated. I saw him live in April.
Very good good
Wow
Is there a recording or performance of him playing Chopin's Waltz no. 1 op. 69 id love to here his expression with a slower more melancholy melody.
🙏💞
wow
Great Polish music by Polish pianist.
I had to check and see if the video was on double speed because his playing is so fast and articulate in this piece
amazing praying
he looks like young zimerman
I was about to comment that😂
No
He looks like Chopin
Yes
It's obvious to me, this young man studied with Chopin standing right behind him. Spirit teachers are not all that uncommon... among the great ones... if one knows what they're doing.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
It does not get much better. When I look at his hands, I am always afraid that he might hurt his fingers.
0:15 Close-up.
For the life of me, I cannot play this damn Étude without my arm getting tired.
I've played 10-4, and I thought this would be 'easier' in comparison. Boy was I wrong. Such a tiring and easily awkward piece.
0:14
Where about?? :)
ive seen no one who can do what blechaz does to the rhythm at the second repetition of the melody
Eric lu sounds like him
LH voicing!
Is this video from the chopin national competition?

I don't know why his little finger is still straight. I can't see any bad influence on music. Does he make it on purpose to not press key accidently?
honestly i do that when i play piano also and i don't know why i do it. i don't know where i got it from but i do it every time i play something fast. i don't know if mr. blechacz does it the same way i do or if he trained himself to do it but i know i've just always done it
I wish my pinky did that. I feel like it would be so much more accurate.
mannerism he never trained away cuz it doesnt affect his playing.
It depends on the person, I personally had it stick out alot, and was told that wasnt right, and attempted to reteach myself, but it seemed anatomically, my pinky pinking staying out was a natural movement. So if you have it thats great, if you dont have it thats great.

Dude the guy must had hit the wrong thing by accident, thats the only possible reasonable reason.

Dude remains to have the weirdest fingers ever
Eric Lu
시바 i think i saw u in perfect piano multilplayer
Good but not perfect.
