I'm operating a Holz-Her Auriga edgebander, and it's experiencing chipping on the non-edged side, approximately 10 mm from the edge. The issue consistently occurs on the bottom side. Could the pressure from the front and rear trimmers be the cause? Any advice on troubleshooting this?

This can be many things. A dirty shoe, a shoe that is not vertically square to the panel, a panel edge that is not square, or what is most common, is the front trimmer is not jumping ahead of the part when the cut is complete. Depending on how the machine is controlled, once the front trimmer has completed the cut, the trimmer will stop copying the edge and jump ahead and away from the panel. This also causes the trimmer to continue to drop, therefore clearing the bottom of the panel. When there is a restriction, it can cause the trimmer to not jump forward. This restriction could be air related, mechanical, or electrical. Many times air issues are as simple as adjusting air pressure, but it very well could be an exhaust issue. Mechanical could be anything from proper maintenance to mechanical wear. Electric could be as simple as a bent switch arm, or as complicated and an incorrect setting in the computer ( if you have one ). Hope this gives you some ideas of what to look for. Cheers.
