Sarde got beyond a concept and beyond a proof of this concept, you were talking about how 20 year olds would feel about those days, As a 17 year old, sarde became one of my breathers, you guys reflect alot of ideas we think, So thanks for just doing it

When Medea said "There's no more spontaneity anymore" it hit home! I'm only 21 years old, but i still remember the days when i was 16,17 and 18. I remember once, i was hanging out with some friends, when we randomly decided to go on a 4 hour long trip to Baalbek. It sucks knowing that today those kind of decisions are almost impossible to make without taking into consideration food and gas money or even the risk of getting f*cking robbed or kidnapped on the road.

You should do these once-twice a year, like an inventory check to recap and reflect on a year's worth of events (or more). Specifically, the Sarde aired in Dec 2020 with just the two of you was powerful.

Dear Sarde family, despite of the cold weather (-35c), the "Freedom Convoy 2022" around Canada these days, yet we feel "Nostalgia" the golden Lebanon 🇱🇧 and the patriotic Lebanese citizens. From the Lebanese-Canadian patriots we salute you.

    • @rosapoladian8105
      @rosapoladian8105 2 года назад

Your are not a patriot. Patriots do not cause their fellow citizens misery so they can protest. Use your ballot to make change at election time. The leaders/organizers of this Freedom protest are anarchists with a political agenda, not civil protesters. Do not admire them. The "official" leaders provided their written demands requiring our prime minister resign, and immediately and drop all Covid mandates. They are causing economic and daily misery in Ottawa and cities with international border crossings. Now they are protesting at schools. Ridiculous! Is it only their freedom that matters, no matter how much misery they cause. Don't be fooled, my friend. You can hate the Covid restrictions, we all do, but they are meant to protect all of us and especially the unvaccinated 'freedom protesters". Listen to medical professionals not internet experts. Thank you.

I teared up at the part where we are questioning at 30 if these were our best days !
Its soo true .. and i feel that our generation can relate to that ..
And its only get harder for the next generations to come..
But the other point where you talk about enjoying the simpler things in life .. ( roadtrips - sidewalks chats and a cup of tea- a cigarette 3ala el baher ma3 nescafee … ) make more sense today than going all out and partying !
I personally could afford that .. but in my head im like how can i do this and there is a big part of my people who can’t even pay to fuel up their car ..
a bit of sympathy i guess with a bit of there more to life than just partying and being around fake people ..
Being more genuine in times like these is rare
And i feel how genuine u guys are ..

it's like a quarterly or midyear management review meeting "MRM", i was glad to listen to Medea's transparent yet realistic view(s), memories, correct me if i am wrong, i think you are a free spirit. Muin at your age there was nothing i wanted to do, i didn't do, the group rented an appartment in beirut, it was our safe space, our pleasures in life were different then the rest of our friends, it was a space with no inhibitions mixed genders/religions/etc,. this was the best time of my life till now, but, when i started travelling and discided to stay away from the lebanese social materilistic hypocracy(in my opinion this when the war dogs took this period to cement themselves in the lebanese politics) imagine it as if you woke up and found out that all was a dream and that we are sliding into a shit hole only GOD knows how we can get out of.
yes, i was touched by this serde "it should have been less formal sitting on a coach, the candle light and lighting was warm, sibce i felt both of you, i advise you to leave lebanon, keep the healthy memories of lebanon and trust wherever you decide to go live/work you'll make friends and you'll stay lebanese...
NB: remmember what Nadin Qoutaish said about this matter and how he is going bto raise his children in his sarde with you. what youv are doing with Sarde every week is great and yes you should be proud of what you are shedding light on. btw, the politicians should do for lebanon, don't let them depend on the ngo's / platforms i.e we, to make it better, they have used us and abused us like there is no word/term can descripe. AiR HUG GUYZ.
-I'M NOT GOING TO REREAD OR EDIT. LEAVING MY INPUT AS IS. ALL MY BEST

Enjoyed this more intimate episode, it felt like chilling and chatting with friends, as if I were there with you. And love the lighting btw.
I'm an expat who left Lebanon in 1978 and never had the desire to return. If you knew the Beirut right before the war.. my very late teens, not a care in the world, big dreams, real friends, a fun life. The parties and outings then had none of the showing off, the gaudiness, and the superficiality that I saw when I visited in the late 1990's.

Always great to watch you guys. I have an idea that helps answer lots of clouded questions regarding the million dollar question of staying/leaving. You guys should plan some episode interviewing fresh expats (1-5 years), have them answer those questions (pros and cons), especially some myths about some countries. No its not about money. Money is not the goal when you leave your country. It's about pursuing happiness, dignity and dreams. It's about climbing up Maslow's hierarchy of needs.

I have a lot of respect for you guys but I do have a suggestion. This episode painted a gloomy picture which the current situation in lebanon deserves, however there’s a lot of talent abroad (I’m in NY so I’ll speak on our community’s behalf) that has been doing a lot to promote lebanon, it’s people, talent, food, culture etc. Some of the brightest in tech, banking, hospitality etc in the US are Lebanese and they’re driving a lot of awareness across the nation here. Maybe you should consider hosting them, looking for potential synergies between what’s happening here and the homeland. People need to see talent, new ideas, ways to help support Lebanon’s economy from outside (other than repatriating money to families). There’s been a lot of political influencer talk on this show, which is great, but I do believe that having some successful non-social media related talent on will also go a long way.

Regarding living one day at a time, despite the entire situation, don't you think it is somewhat therapeutic living one day at a time? Because we can all agree that long term planning is stressful and there is no bigger disappointment than failing in a plan that is long planned

I loved this episode. Very touchy, so real. W have the same feelings, same fears, same old trauma (especially the blast on 4th August).
Im 31 years old, and i feel i dont belong to this country. It isnt the safe place i should belong to!
Unlike you Media, i didn’t have the chance to love the country, on the contrary, i have enough causes to hate it!

HAHAHAHAHHAA I agree! كتّر خير الله has become so bizarre بهل context. للاسف sadly ironically our situation has stripped this statement of its essence لان it has become so dark that خير seems nonexistent
فايا خير بديه ياه يكترو؟ مجنون هل لبنان.

Hi I’m a student of Levantine arabic.
    I love the work.
However, a transcription in spoken arabic would be even better.
It is something I am willing to Patreon
