- Ai Kago is one of my favorite Japanese idols. She was one of the first ones I got to know. The life hasn't been easy on her and fans have been hoping she could find happiness in her life. Just recently she was able to return to the stage! That is why I wanted to make this video.
This is a video about the life Kago has gone through in the eye of the public. It with due all respect, I want people to know what she is been trough to truly appreciate what we got now.
I hope Kago all the happiness in the world! Aibon it is time for renAIssance! She deserves all the love and good things!

I teared up at the end of watching this because she went through so much and that stage she did with Nozomi probably reminded her that she is still so loved by a lot of people! The industry and media are absolutely brutal and toxic on these young girls. I'm so glad Aibon is still with us today. Aibon was always my favorite, I will always support her and continue to see her thriving!

She had to grow up at such a young age which mislead her from finding her own path.
I adore her :') Girl had such a big personality as a child. It was inevitable that she'd take the hard journey through life and I hope she is able to live happily now.

I'm crying so much. My childhood. The only good thing I really had was W and Morning Musume. Today's pop music just isn't the same as the old kpop and jpop idols. They weren't plastic and you knew who was who. Today all the groups sound and look that same.
i feel you so much! I discovered h!p in my adolescence in the mid 2000s and have followed them ever since. Kago was quickly my favorite member. Something that really drew me into H!P groups at that time was that they all had some sort of “normal girl” physical characteristics to them that made them feel real and relatable, which was something I really needed as preteen/teen struggling with self-love.
Her choice of men was terrible. Maybe low self-esteem? Glad this story seems to have a happy ending.
I think it's also the fact that she started so young and the fan were mostly grown man... it kinda fucked up her mind
Yeah, I also believe she grew up without a dad as well, so I wonder if most of her experience with men was with fans and industry executives.
She chose men that were pretty similar to her father in some ways, outlaws. Plus, her father was actually pretty young when she was born. It was definitely some kind of father complex.
She's been through such a journey, and she came full circle. No matter how hard life keeps you down, you gotta keep pushing and keep going forward, really happy for her.

basically she was on vacation in korea with some friends and fans discovered that a couple of the guys who accompanied her on the trip are high-ranking members of the yakuza, specifically the inagawa-kai group. when the scandal first broke kago uploaded a youtube video on her channel where she said she didn't know the guys were part of the yakuza & that they were brought on the trip by her other friends. however ppl noticed that the guy in the pic with her had tattoos and his pinky finger was missing. tattoos are mainly worn by yakuza/gang members in japan, and if someone is missing all or part of their pinky finger, it was done as punishment by the yakuza to atone for doing something against their rules. basically she got caught lying about her affiliations with them and as a result she missed the 25th hellopro anniversary reunion concert last year. ruclips.net/user/shortsn6kPbU3-xe0?si=8zhEwV0aD42h9VWA
I can't tell you how happy I felt after watching this video to see Kago reunited with Tsuji as W once more on stage. I had a big grin on my face. Kago was one of my favourites in Hello Project and seeing her fall from grace really upset me at the time. I'd never have thought she would return back to Hello Project but I'm so glad they let bygones be bygones and welcome her back into the fold. It was so nice to see her with a smile on her face and enjoying performing again.

Wow, I just randomly stumbled onto this video today. Haven't thought about H!P in such a long time but Kago Ai was my all time favourite idol. I remember following her up until she released that photobook... I honestly blame Up Front for everything that happened to her. They recruited her at such a young age and never let her grow up from her 12 year old image. her entire time there she was presented as a little kid with pigtails. Up Front should have educated her on what to watch out for in social situations etc.
When I 1st became an H!P fan, Kago was already on suspension. I watched a lot of W videos during her suspension & eagerly waiting for her comeback. Too bad she was caught with an even bigger scandal which leads to her agency dropping her. She went downhill after that. I wish the agency had protected her more as she clearly needed emotional support at that time. She got into the industry so young & was a household name during her peak, so she's prone to problems like this. I can't deny that I was angry at her agency a little bit for some time. Even her 'twin' Tsuji also got in some trouble but thankfully they handled it better than Kago. When Kago appeared at H!P concert, I cried. She needed the push & I'm glad that her old agency approached her back. Up-Front is a good agency at managing their artists & they learnt a lot from their past mistake with Kago I guess. I can only hope they'll forgive Yoshizawa too during Morning Musume 30th anniversary :)
Even tho Ai Kago made mistakes and bad choices she always made me laugh and happy, and even crying at times. Kago and Nozomi were always one of my favorite duo's. I'm glad that life for them is getting better. I miss those days when I first found them. Japanese girls are some of the best entertainer's in the world! Thank you all!

This girl is so cute, I just finished watching the movie she was in entitled Hanaoni (I know this movie was released last 2009 but it became popular now because of asiancrush), I research and got curious about her. I can't believe that she went through this and I'm really amazed by her acting skills! She's so talented I'm in love with her

I didn't even know half of this story that Ai Kago went through, I just remember just one day stop watching both of them on TV, just thought the moment of fame had passed

For Morning Musume itself, I just started listening to their music since 2 months ago. I know it's to late to know them from the 1st gen, but I do enjoy their song! ❤️

wow, i just found the video since i was rewatching some of the old helloProject stuff. last thing i knew about her was when she released her single and that she was living (i believe) in new york so i figured that she would just step away from the entertainment industry. never in a million years i would have imagined that H!P would bring her and tsuji back to perform together. man, i just about teared up at that last part.
thank you so much for this video. i watched W videos when i little and to see them again at hinafes was just indescribable, i hope aibon can have a happy and peaceful life from now on, she deserves the world.

All I can say is that I'm soooo happy for Kago Chan!! I love Morning Musume....especially the OG's thru 2010. I've followed past scandals such as Yaguchi San, Yoshizawa San, Kago San just to name a few...I felt most sad for Kago Ai. I mean she literally attempted to end her life! Again I'm so happy she found happiness again and wish her the absolute best!

Talk about a road through life! The ups and downs. Now with that behind them I hope they can be happy. If they somehow decided to do limited run with W I'd be amongst the very 1st to try to get tickets or preorders.

It does sort of bring it into perspective how easy it is for the suddenly famous, especially if they are children, to go down a dark path. (And for all things, smoking a cigarette and dating.) Kago Ai appeared to have the worst time of it, but she wasn't the only person in the group to get caught with her proverbial pants down. Yaguchi Mari and Fujimoto Miki I believe both pre-emptively left Hello Project after their secret boyfriends were discovered. The uber-talented Yoshizawa Hitomi also ended up quitting show-business completely (at least as of the present) due to a drunk-driving hit-and-run, nearly having to spend time in jail for it except for being saved with a ¥3 million bail payment. Due to that incident, Hello Project removed her performance recordings from their 20th Anniversary concert prior to the DVD release. At the end of the day, while these people might be celebrities, they are still real people with real problems, too. (Hence the discourse surrounding the problems with idol worship and para-social relationships.)
