      Bit of an odd thing to say since Depp has been working with time since 1990, Keaton was hardly Tim's leading man.. he only did three films back then.

      Well, Keaton shows his age a bit, even if he still manages to keep quite fit and healthy. Aside of that, and even though Keaton is my favorite Batman actor by far, the main problem is that there had been way too many films on Batman over the recent years, and I find it exaggerated and a bit paranoid to make yet more movies on the character. It´s like a kind of vicious circle, always moving around the same thing.

      Keaton is my favorite Batman actor by far, but I´m afraid that Batman is over-exploited already. Way too many films on the superhero over the recent years. Too repetitive... Beetlejuice sounds to me a way better idea.

    Going to this movie with my son of 36 yrs old was one of the most precious moments in my life. The kind as a mother that is permanently burned into your memory. As a child, he was very ill. Then as an adult, he contracted Cancer and heart failure. From Birth, I would sing to my sons every night. Danny fell in love with Dumbo. I sang him "Baby Mine"...as an adult, he was critical in the hospital with cancer. In the dark, I stayed in the corner of the room in case he needed anything. He asked me .."Mom, you awake? " I jumped. He asked me to sing it too him one more time. I sat on his bed, took out his original Dumbo from my backpack...(just there to comfort me, his mother. But he needed him now.) He smiled weakly & took him, with welled up eyes he laid his head on my shoulder and I softly sang it to him. The hardest thing I have ever had to do. Now we collect elephants and Dumbo's to say the least. It is a WONDERFUL MOVIE and all should see it. It is just a shame that the real Circus is no more. This politically correct brainwashing of two generations has breed out Childhood and the wonder of seeing the Circus. It is a travesty, and everyone should take their kids to see what the Circus really was like. Just so sad to see it gone. In case you are wondering...so is Dan's cancer and heart failure. PRAISE GOD for the gift of my son back.

    For the dark and light contrast question, I think the darkness represents the difficult circumstances the characters are dealing with and the bright colors represent the glimmer of hope that is present despite those dark circumstances and that ultimately wins out in the end. It’s a metaphor. It’s what you do in film. Film 101.

  • @Alantheleopard
    @Alantheleopard 5 лет назад +1

    Geez. That Burton takes the meaning of "body language" too literal! He seems like made of rubber, rather than flesh and bones. Isn't he scared of dislocating himself?...
    He says that he tried to stay more natural in this movie than in other movies that he directed, but at least the part on that super-theme park belonging to Mr. Vandevere (Keaton), and its ending, is nothing but out typical Hollywood feature on a majestic theme park having a majestic destruction. The same formula used in Jurassic Park and Jurassic World. Hollywood repeats itself way too often, and this is one of its most recurrent features, together with the typical fart on a character saying that (s)he cannot do something but eventually (s)he will succeed. Or when they take a sentence or object and keep on using it all along the movie as a wildcard. Hollywood is so boringly repetitive and predictable... and it´s not about children movies, but movies in general and for all audiences. Isn't it boring to repeat the same features again and again and again?...
    Aside of that, this is the first time that I hear of and know about Nico Parker (such an odd name for a girl, since I thought that Nico was a male name- you've got for instance the Formula1 drivers Nico Hulkenberg and Nico Rosberg), and she looks so pretty indeed. I guess that they should have paid a bit more of attention to her, and to her young partner too. The two children seem to be a bit neglected in this interview.
    Also, everyone remembers Michael Keaton after Batman or Beetlejuice, but what about other movies of his like "Multiplicity", or "Desperate Measures"?...
