Heads up to anyone looking at getting the SSDS3 and also owns a MiSTer: a PC Engine CD core is very likely in development as we speak!

Yes I would go for the mister. I have the ssds3 and there are still issues! For example the in game reset trigger for the ssds3 does not work at all in pretty much any game. Of course if you dont mind having to physically turn off the console to reset and get back into the menu then this probably wont bother you!
The Super SD System 3 is an absolute must-own for this system. I've had one for a little over a year and it's life-changing for any PCE fans.
This is why I love this channel. Love the PC Engine!

Looking forward to the TG16 classic PnP console. It'll interesting to see how the modding community takes to it. I like collecting the premium pnp consoles as it's less if a headache for me than trying to get the actual consoles. :)

Just Google this triad model number: WSU090-2000-R and you should find it. That particular power supply should work perfect with your pc engine.

The SSDS3 is a great device and your getting alot for the money! Awesome! Im keen for the PC Engine mini hey as I've never had one of these. I only heard about it when I got a Raspberry Pi a few years back and was pretty impressed. So many gd shooters on them. I might buy one n mod it later down the rd. Nice vid m8!
Something else worth mentioning is the jailbar fix for the PCE, which makes a HUGE difference when using the OSSC. Not noticeable on CRT, but definitely worth doing if using the OSSC. Just a couple of small caps to replace, which I managed with a standard soldering iron. ;-)
Great video mate i am Massive pc engine fan i have a sdss3 and a supergrafx with that setup you can play everything butt its not cheap but well worth it, great theses days they loads of options for getting a good video picture i am using RGB and a Framemeister and it looks fantastic. There is a Japanese guy making a HDMI 1080p output box for the pc engine plugs in the extension port be interesting to see whats that's like but not shore if there have been released yet but i here it was going to be expensive.
Hey man this may sound cliche but I would love to see you do some top 10 videos! I'm super curious what your top snes, nes, Genesis, tg16 etc games are.
All you need to do is get a step down transformer to use the original one from japan
The only region locking on the American TurboGrafx was for hu cards
There is a kisado game converter as well as others and you can get you system modified to play Japanese hu cards
The CD games are region free but if you want to play the arcade games you need the arcade card duo or the other version depending what system different arcade card for that but you need to game card adapter to use also I might add that all these systems used bad capacitors so if you haven't had yours checked you should do so because they leak and ruin the board
Some easy ways to play these games if you don't mind not playing on real Hardware is a good emulator there's one called magic engine which you can play all the CD games on and a regular computers CD drive
Also I can use my 3DS with custom firmware you can use the new rg350 or pocket Go 2
You can use gp2x F100 200 Wiz or caanoo
Even the dingoo A320 plays them
And I know for a fact that the Nintendo 3DS will also play arcade games so will the others using the temper emulater
They made an emulator for Nintendo DS flash cards called Nitrografx
But it won't let you save it does say but as soon as you shut the power off to lose it and there's no save states if a coder looked at it I'm sure they could tweak it really quick and get it working but because it's on a Nintendo DS flash cart I guess no one's really interested
you can play it on the PSP but it's a pain in the ass because the PSP only plays Iso/mp3
And no matter if you use the turborio program or another program
they don't play right and the psvita is going to be the same way
the turbo Duo I had and I'm sure the rest of them were the same way you could play a copied game a burnt CD game but it wore out the laser so I wouldn't recommend it

Yeah, and a terrible solution compared to just getting the right ac adapter. I have to use a step up converter for my Amiga monitor and the thing stinks like diesel grease and takes up a lot of space. I hate that I have to use it, but it's the only solution I have.

You're right but if you get another adapter and you don't make sure it's completely compatible you damage your system I didn't say it was the best choice but my friend was living in Japan when he was in the Navy and he was bringing home game system after game system and that was in the early 90s and that was the only solution we were told to use
John Hojnowski true, but the core grafx is 100% compatible with Sega Genesis av and power cables so there’s no risk if you use them.
Always wanted this or a Turbo Grafx or a PC engine. I think I will just have to be satisfied with emulation. This system is a little out of my price range of collecting.

Yeah... For 5 games and a couple hundred dollars more at least. I recommend the PC Engine/core grafx as its more practical and cheaper price.

@@luckyluke95 no doubt they are good games, but just like thumbs upping your own comment they are not going to be something everyone can justify, especially for the high price tag of a Supergrafx.

07:35 Is there something like the Rad2x that use can use with the cd attachment? I use the white Japanese model PC Engine with the cd rom sitting next to it.
The RGB out port on the terraonion, is it the same on the genesis? IE can I use my genesis RGB scart cable for the turbo grafx? Thank you. This was a great video.
The Terraonion device has problems wtth the RGB output. You forgot to mention it. :)

Hey brah, mines ain't got no problems. The RGB signal is super crispy. Check your cable and your power supply brah both can introduce noise.
I got version 2 of the ssds3. Got the voultar rgb bypass, and the firebrandx stereo amp installed under $100. Worth every penny

I love this. But I have a Duo RX. Any pointers on that? I do have a Fraimmeister mini. But composite doesn't look so great.
You need a RGB mod and a Euroscart cable. I found a service on eBay shipped it to him he did the mod sent it back. Probably close to $100 with shipping, but it makes a world of difference.

@@joshual2289 also not to be pedantic but the framemeister normally comes with a jp21 adapter, it looks like Euroscart but it's not, you may need to buy the Euroscart framemeister adapter or get a special made jp21 pcengine lead made. But I'd recommend Euroscart as it seems to be easier to find cables.

No unfortunately does not work on a stock core grafx or pc engine.
Nice. I used a core grafx with sdsystem3 via rgb scart into an ossc. I see a lot of buzz around the retro think 2x hdmi cables, but there’s no point in using them if you have an ossc, right?

You didnt mention anything about the arcade memory expansion the PC engine needs to play some games.
You don't need that if you are using the Terraonion SSDS3, im not going to point you to download that stuff... but if you are not using an original disc system what would the expansions be used for? Nothing... cause you cannot play those games anyway... That is not what this video was about, it was about a base system PC Engine.

Yes it does, around the 12 minute mark I show footage marked that its using the HD Retrovision cable via the SSDS3.

You mention the super sd system 3 is compatible with the north american tg16, which is what i have, yet the terra onion page for the ssds3 doesnt mention tg16 as compatible. Who is wrong?, because i want this device!
It works fine. You just may need to loosen the screws on the case so it fits the na tg16. Its a snug fit but works no prob
MiSTer is the way to go. Got a framemeister, modded rgb coregrafx and krikzz card : MiSTer is better and all of these gizmos are in storage

It's going to be just like the small Nintendo Super Nintendo and Playstation systems that were just released I'm sure someone will hack that you'll be able to add your own games to it and have HDMI out
And it's 100% incompatible with CRTs so it's going to be off the radar of a lot of people that want an authentic experience.

@Zanac Prime Just to be sure I asked my question right. If I have a PC-Engine with the SSDS3, I can take use a T-16 game (not a rom but a Hu-Card) and play like if the console was region free?
