I agree, that is what we do. My daughter and family are moving house shortly and the biggest problem for my grand-daughters was losing the cubby house I had built them. So I have promised them that we will build a new one and they can help with the design of it. The current one used fence palings for the outside, the next one will use the first cuts from cypress pine logs and hopefully look like a log cabin.
For over 10 years I worked in a warehouse that didn't have any heating. In the winter whatever the outside temperature was (not including the windchill) that was the inside temperature of the warehouse. I wore thermal underwear, insulated socks and undergarments, a base layer of clothing in addition to woolen clothing as well. Insulated coveralls and a hat plus mittens with hand warmers to keep me able to drive the forklift. The boss would berate me for not wearing the hardhat, but damn it was frigid in that minus degree weather and so... That was over 20 years ago, and I still remember those days but with more fondness. It's good that your grandfather built you a structure to shield you from the elements. It will come in handy in the winter months ahead! Appreciate these moments in your life. They pass all too quickly.
Yes, Grampa is a great mentor, and it is nice to see the respect that he gets from the girls! He thinks like the rest of us and takes care of his grand kids.
Jade is working she's not sitting still she's not going to get cold. Do you guys have any idea how many people both men and women work outside do you think construction jobs when they're building a house frame for example is indoor work. I get it doing something for Emerald because when you sit still and it's cold out you freeze ass off. As well there's a lot of sawdust and bark flying from the mill and hitting her.
Perfect, love the way grandpa is repurposing windows and metal for roof to make this work. Looks very solidly built and you can leave the controller in rhere too.. A solar panel, battery and small inverter and you're set..
Your whole family is awesome. You watch out for each other. You work together just refreshing to see always makes your videos a pleasant spot in the day.
Try some cameras, like security type to get line of sight or an overlook of the yard, the opposite side of the yard or what ever! Jade deserves a little house too, she is out in the weather too!
There is probably enough power output from the alternator on the diesel engine that runs the mill to install a small inverter in the doll house run a few 110 volt toys like fans, phone chargers and other small loads.
Might consider a small camera just to one side of the log lay to see the needed level and cut thickness. Could have small monitor or use your phone as monitor. Yes, Jade needs her own doll house or shed!
Awesome structure! Maybe your grand paw could consider adding a 12 volt system for rv fans and lights. Solar panels on the roof could charge the batteries.
Run a map gas or propane torch over one of those bandsaw blades at the weld till it turn a low cherry red. Feather back and forth with the torch flame and let it cool slowly. See if that helps.
@@jsmythib Not a welder per se, but did some time as a smith. AR15231 probably thinks the welds are too hard and brittle. Heating to low cherry red and letting cool slowly is a "tempering" technique. You want to get the metal to a point where it is still strong but not brittle. Brittle very read hot heated metal that is quenched, usually in oils or brines, will be quite hard but brittle. It can't stand shock loading and can shatter like glass in some materials. This is why I am encouraging LCLY to check their WM mill for shock loads at start of the cuts. A well brazed blade with some good silver soder, as another viewer suggested, would also be a good experiment to see about fixing the broken blade problem. A lot of viewers have made good suggestions on ID'ing the problem...Mill or blades or operator... but so far we don't have any detail on if they are reading them and trying anything suggested.
CCTV I'm sure a couple of cameras will give you the view you need I think you need to see the start of the cut to make sure you get it right Great job grandpa I'm sure he could build a roof over the mill using your own timber including shingles that you have cut on the roof That's what we are doing for our Trak-met mill in the UK
Just a thought you could get a 100 watt solor panel and a battery and fun a 12 volt fan and radio without the generator and extra noise. Good job grand pap👍
Get a Wyze cam outdoor mounted down where the action is and where you can see level. So a tablet or I pad can give you several views if you get more than one Cam Outdoor. Wi-Fi/BT to Cam no wires in the way or routed to the doll house. Cheap and affordable way to get the views without straining to tell.
Emerald, To give you the view straight along log from your new perch in dollhouse, maybe get a large utility mirror like from a tractor or schoolbus etc ?
A man of many talents. Should be a sweet addition. Hard to concentrate if you're uncomfortable. Be it wind, rain, snow or hot sun . Makes for a long miserable day.
Keeping the ladies out of the elements makes for happy ladies. On some days I'm sure there will be a little fighting for the little control booth. Maybe a little garnishing with plants and flowers to give the booth some life.
Hi Emerald Have you considered fitting a laser level to the mill that projects onto the log at the same point that the blade will cut? That way you should be able to reduce the amount of extra thick slabs you project due to the chance in your viewing angle. All the best to the team. Jonathan
YAY...then they can add sections each year to extend it into a partially enclosed overhang /shed /lean to ...with forklift access to load and unload the mill...slowly but surely ...it can be done...one section at a time...
The two of you will enjoy the playhouse. We have a Chinese restaurant not too far from where I live and it’s called Jade Palace. Could be the name of it except Jade isn’t in it.
my brother and sister in law wanted to expand their horse arena cover by about fifty feet or so. It was going to cost well over $100,000. Keep up the hard work ladies and go grandpa.
I would love to meet your grandpa! And I just have to say and I’m not gonna apologize but Emerald looks fantastic! The blue shorts and the blue plaid top and the red hair and the eyes! I’m not the only one thinking the same thing! She’s beautiful as is her entire family!
I hope you realize how fortunate you all are to have Grampa in your lives!
Like the title. Like the 'funky' design. Thanks grandpa!
You could get a security camera that would let Emarald see the log from blade level as well as from above.
Grandpa is a real special guy, kudos to him!
It looks like Grandpa is building The Tardis! Ha Ha This will be really nice during foul weather. It's looking really nice. Going to try the coffee!
You’re lucky to have such an awesome Grampa!
Grandpa is the man. Enjoy your doll house.
Sitting pretty. Thanks to Grandpa.
Nice doll house thanks again for all your videos
I'm sure there is gratitude you * have all brought to the business . Smart !
Great video, Thanks! I wish, I was “COOL ENOUGH” for one untucked, shirt tail. 😊❤
Grandpas are the best. Enjoy him while you can. ❤️
Grandpas are the best!!!!!!
That’s what Grandpa’s do for their grandchildren, I’m sure there’s something in the works for Jade

What about jade. What is she getting,, why is she left out in the element s
I love legs- LUMBER!! I love lumber.
I see some very solid construction there. and Em looks SO pleased that she's getting her sawyer-shack.
nice shelter /doll house /lookout post for em.
meanwhile poor jade recieves a tube of factor 90 sunscreen and a umbrella hat.

Grandpa always looks after their girls! I do! Best of luck. Beach, NC
Yes, Grampa is a great mentor, and it is nice to see the respect that he gets from the girls! He thinks like the rest of us and takes care of his grand kids.
I like the shack/doll house. Jade needs some shade as well!
What about Jade? Is she going to be left outside in the elements without any covering?
I think it’s to protect the mill control head, not Em. She said they had to keep putting it in the building or something.
I was thinking the same thing....poor Jade
@@kearnsey64no it's literally to protect both.

Glad you are getting shelter to work in!!! Also glad you can now just leave the controls hooked up and out of the weather.
Very very happy for you.
Great idea!
Solar fan(s) are an A1 idea.
A wonderful grandpa...keep him hydrated in the heat!!!
BUT
make him grill 😁👍🇨🇦
That should make it a little better being out of the elements, looks good great job grandpa!
I really like that mug! I’m on my way to your store.
❤ Grandpa. He ❤ his girls.

What a great place to showcase your products and their possible uses. I hope you get years of use from your new building.

GrandPa did an awesome job.
Definitely sturdy and safe.
That's a Great Grampa . Yes he should also address a similar thing for Jade . The creative vision can be fickle however , sometimes .😅😊
Iam sure a small window A/C unit would come in very handy or a small dorm size refrigerator to keep your lemonade and ice-tea cold. Its your choice.
Grandpa is so thoughtful and hard working! :)
Awesome i was going by on my harley when you were all filming on my way up to trout run
Huge all respects to yr Grampa ,try to pass more and more time with , keep smile ,and . clean like white .
Finally. Great Idea. You needed this.

This latest innovation has the potential to add significant boost to the mill.
Show us the mess when the next blade breaks. I also want to see you adjust the air in the doughnut and then put the hydraulic pressure on.
Grandpa is a pretty handy guy. Jack of all trades!
A cute doll house for an adorable Doll 😉😍

first :) good to see the girls getting some shelter
Grampa is a hero in my book. I dote on my grandbabies and try to be like Grampa.
Really well thought out, your family is great 😎
Good job Em's Grandpa don't forget the coffee maker
Emerald, To give you the view straight along log from your new perch in dollhouse, maybe get a large utility mirror like from a tractor or schoolbus etc ?
Nice job, everybody! Smooth and clear audio & video!
I started to buy some coffee, but then saw the shipping cost! Decided not to buy. Think about finding a way to lower the shipping costs.
Thanks!
Mount small camera compatible to you phone for an inline view of the saw blade to help set height of cut. Wal-Mart or online, cheep.
Mount a small laser line generator aligned with the blade, then you get an exact setting. the cut line will be easily visible on the log.
Gramps your the man!! Such a great guy!

Place a camera at log level connected to a monitor beside the control, or position a long mirror so you an end view of the log

I had a very nostalgic moment of building sheds with my grandad. 🙂
As a kid,I helped my dad build a workshop and a concrete porch. We also did engine swaps on three cars,2 of his and my very first car.
Yaayyyy finally!!! Grandpa's building that 'doll house' with a lot of love.
We run exclusively Cooks blades on our mill. They saw great and no marks. 8 degree super sharps
You can set up a camera to see thickness of the slabs like the cameras they have on reach forklifts to see 50 meters in the air
Good job grandpa.
We are lucky to have Grampa, looking out for the hard working women, What a treasure. Love and appreciate him dearly, every day, please.

If Emerald is packing, there’s no need to confirm or deny it. That’s private information.
Grandpa, great looking dollhouse for that doll, what are you going to do for the other doll? From another old Grandpa. 😁
The red hair and beautiful eyes are just amazing your channel is really enjoyable. God bless.
Grandpa is so the G.o.a.T.

Em makes those denim shorts look good
You could sheet it directly or on top of the sheeting with fletches for decoration..
This 👍for grandpa
grandpa is my favorite
Always amazed at those who can build that stuff like there's nothing to it.
Best grandpa EVER!
Old Guys Rule!! Great work.
Wow grandpa got that doll house erected using his own wood thats Cut by the best! Awsome set up ! grandpa can do anything !
my brother and sister in law wanted to expand their horse arena cover by about fifty feet or so. It was going to cost well over $100,000. Keep up the hard work ladies and go grandpa.
