Maximum Reger won 'Best DVD' in the 2018 BBC Music Magazine Awards and was reviewed in BBC Music Magazine as "ambitious and superbly executed... A hugely rewarding achievement that should persuade us all to revisit Max Reger's place in music history." The boxed set was Editor's Choice in Gramophone Magazine, in which Rob Cowan wrote: "Maximum Reger is for me an answer to a prayer."
Reger recorded pieces including this fugue Op.56iii and chorale Op.67xxv on the Welte mechanical organ, now at the Automatic Musical Instrument Museum in Bruchsal, Germany.
Fantastic Video! Thanks for sharing. In my opinion, absolutely not boring.
It`s like a mirror: who hears carefully, understand the power of Reger.
Grande Filip :)
Only pithy, wannabe intellectuals put down Reger...he was the very continuation and summation of everything Bach would have done if he had lived long enough to accomplish it...the greatest next to Bach and Liszt in harmony, technical playing ability AND composition...to hell with anybody who says different. Thank you dearly for sharing this with the world.
Reger did not have time to practice. All his time he was busy to compose, to conduct, to study and running a conservatory I think. Its very nice to have these recordings.
your statement could lead to a false conclusion: when you read his biography you must say that he didn't NEED to practice. He played a lot concerts as pianist and organist - in some years more than hundred. And that came on top to his work as composer, arranger and teacher! :)
Die Titanic Orgel ist eine wunderschöne Orgel, , kann man eine CD von dieser Orgel bekommen. Bitte um eine Mitteilung. Danke Herr Muth.
Thanks for the upload.
Mach’s mit mir, Gott, nach deiner Gut.
...nach Deiner Güt
Hey, the first instrument, isn't it the Titanic organ?
Some people call it thus, but it is a design of Welte organ, one of which is alleged to have missed the boat!
Boring pieces.
Yes, you're right. It's music. Utterly boring whatsoever...
You are boring
@@cromorno8749 I play exciting Reger works on large pipe organs in live acoustics.
Th.is disappointing and old-fashioned-sounding.
@@robertgift first of all, its a piano roll. you shouldnt expect a perfect imitation of his actual performance, roll cuts many details off. second, I don't think this work is boring at all. It has many great moments with juicy modulations. I love the chorale's melody, it's very colorful and spontaneous
. not boring for sure!
