@markerd5378 Thanks very much for tuning in. Always a difficult section, but when she does give up her secrets, they tend to be worth the wait and effort.
The three curses of the autumn/winter river angler. Illness, work and inclement weather! I suppose the last two are linked; ideal weather and water conditions on work days, and then massive floods, gales or hard frosts on days off! To be fair, this November has been a complete contrast to last year's deluge. Mostly dry, mild and rivers in lovely condition. Lovely perch. Get well soon and take care. Tonsilitis is really nasty and it takes a while to fully recover.
Thank you and that's the biggest pity as I've missed some good conditions. You're not wrong about tonsilitis, I was supposed to have them out as a teenager but never did.
I myself have suffered with tonsillitis most of my adult life since i was 28 years old, i have give up on antibiotics i gargle with salt and water and take paracetamol i find this works much better than antibiotics, i was told that i was too old at 28 to have my tonsils out i am now 62 years old i don't suffer no were near as much as i used too the Doctors said i would grow out of tonsillitis which to be honest i very rarely ever suffer any more, any way enough about me a very good video Mark well done please keep going stay strong things do get better with age.
Good to hear from another tonsil sufferer Dave! Like you my own child hood was spent with it during usually autumn and winters with many recurring bouts and at 15 I was offered a tonsillectomy which I will be honest I chickened out of due to having seen a friend suffer from post op issues from the same thing. So wind on 45 years later and without fail every autumn or winter I get at least 2 bouts of it. salt water gargling helps a lot and if I'm honest raw ginger and garlic kept me going. Clarithromycin which usually worked didn't this time probably due to having used up its reliability over the years. 2 weeks in and I was still unwell, changed to doxycycline and feeling better. Problem is I'm not a fan of bombarding my body with antibiotics every winter either. Thanks for watching the video and putting an in depth reply regarding your throat issues. From one tonsilitis sufferer to another I salute you.
Another tonsillitis sufferer here too mate! Absolutely sucks doesn’t it… like a few other people in the comments thread I also gave up on anti-biotics as they didn’t seem to scratch the surface (pardon the pun) but I’ll tell you what helps me. Fresh pickled shallots and gargling some scotch whiskey. It hugely accelerates the healing process for me and this year I managed to knock it out within 3 days of finding the dreaded white blisters on my throat. If you can stomach it id give it a try. You’ll stink for a few days but you’ll feel much better for it, I can almost promise you that.
Thanks Sam, I like onions, garlic and ginger, the latter two have been helping. I wouldn't say no to the whiskey either😂, well if it wasn't for having ckd.

Mark first time I’ve watched your video for some time, and it was a good watch, sitting down on a cold bank even with a cushion under you won’t help your condition, try taking a low fold up camping type seat with you!! However best of luck and get well soon.
Taps ideally or plucks and generally fishing with the lightest quiver tip possible depending on what rod I'm using. I'm happy to step down to very fine quiver tip rods such as a winkle picker rod if it means it shows the bites easier. I do watch the line in front of the rod tip whenever I'm fishing but I try to hit the plucks and knocks as soon as I feel safe to as perch can be easily deep hooked if they're sitting on the bait and inhaling it without moving much to show a bite.
Yes sure, happy to try and help it's made by a company known as Ridge line and it's their "ridge line monsoon smock" very water proof and nice long cut to its length so keeps you dry further down your body, I got mine second hand on ebay, as they're pretty expensive brand new. But I can't fault it.
The Darent are good little rods, had mine many years now and can't fault it. It's a pity though that angling direct have stopped producing their little ambush rods as they come in handy for tight swims.
@@YouPelicanthanks for the info as I did break the top section of my ambush 7 foot 1.75 a couple of seasons ago (I fell down a rabbit hole 😂) and I really do miss that rod.

Dog paddling triggers perch action. Did your Dr test you for vitamin d levels. Did they tell you to lace your woffel with at least 10.000 iu's per day to boost not just to prevent rickets which is the standard they have been trained to use but to also consider a higher dosage optimal for the immune and endocrine abd multiple other bio functions? Folk have taken well over 50 000 iu with zero harm done
Hah if only dogs jumping in always had that effect 😂. Regarding the vitamin d3 I've been taking the usual combined d3 and k2 supplements around 3000iu. You're certain bumping it higher will do me no harm? As I'm also someone whom has chronic kidney disease.
