This is a really important movie. Altho seeing Jennifer Ehle playing an antagonist freeked me out as heck.... :D She was amazing, I'm just used to her being Elizabeth Bennet... I watched P&P like a hundred times when I was a kid, she's a big part of me.
She was an introduction to the protagonist. Not a primary character. I agree though, it would've been nice to see how she wrapped herself into her character. She had her own battle with denial...
@@kootenaywomon well, but the two other teenagers from the conversion camp who are in this interview aren't primary characters either :/ A bit of their story was shown, but they were around much more for the development of Chloe's character. Also it was a good film but I wish that they had explored more of the best friend/crush side after they got caught...
@@AliceP. As I said before, I agree. The girlfriend was not at the conversion camp so her part was even more minor.*Spoiler* The letter she sent to the protagonist explained that her main motivation was to cover her butt by saying that our main character was the instigator. She did this through (understandable) fear and need of self preservation. It really sucked but under the circumstances a normal reaction. Given that the negative attitudes of these kinds of "Christians" of gay people, they would've crucified her too.
The movie leaves out pretty much the first 2/3 of the book which describes Cameron’s life from around age 10 to the moment she gets sent to the conversion theraphy. It details how her relationship with Coley (and some other girls before Coley) started etc. In the conversion camp part of the book there isn’t much about Coley other than Cameron wondering why Coley told on them etc. It actually explores more how Cameron feels about her family and her own identity as a person. So the movie is kind of faithful to the book on that part. I think the movie did make it seem like Coley and Cameron’s fling was just a fling, but it was a deep relationship that didn’t have its chance to fully blossom due to them being scared. The book is long though and I understand they wanted to highlight the conversion camp part, because there is lesbian movies/shows about teenage romances happening in small towns. There isn’t anything about conversion camps.
Can't you go by bike or take the bus for me it's working up the courage to be in a crowded room I struggle with that every day if the theatre is an hour away you should be able to get there on your own
Stephen Patrick no it’s an hour on like highways no buses it’s 65 miles away so no bike either. Do you have any friends who you’d want to go with I get nervous alone but there’s something to be said abt confidence in numbers
I'm sorry I didn't realize it that far away but there's my support worker but I doubt he'd want to go to see it I'll do what I normally do and shut out my worries but thank you for the advice
I don’t care for how she makes it sound like she came up with the story instead of telling her own interpretation of the FANTASTIC novel this is based off of

I cant see anyone else playing Cameron than Chloe Mortez. She was so perfect for that role. Cameron is so my crush
I wanna see this movie so bad, it sounds great!

Very inappropriate lol
It's the best movie I have ever seen
Ewaratroach teehee ur too young
Its amazing
Chloe seems so sweet and smart, maybe a new Jodie Foster :-)
She's perfect.
She isn't. In reality, she's stuck-up and standoffish. I should know, I had an encounter with her once.
Sure, even Hitler had his nice moments.
Love Chloe love Jodie Foster and Jodie Comer 💖
@@ExplorerDS6789 What happened? Did she refused to give you an autograph?

I have just seen the movie and Jennifer freaked me out. She was really great there.
This is me, too. But JE is a great actor and I forgot all about Lizzy. It was freaky, tho’.
this movie and boy erased were phenomenal
I wonder why the actress who plays her best friend & romantic interest in the movie is never in the interviews
