I'm going to attend this fall!! I'm a little worried, as a minor, that I won't really fit in or be treated the same :/ I also hear that the campus life is really boring and conservative :( Can you tell me how your experience was living on campus?
Living on campus isn't bad some days there is nothing going on on the weekends, but most of the time I'm always doing something. Also as a minority I feel like I'm treated like everyone else. Everyone I have interacted with has been very welcoming and accepting
Maria Zavala you have nothing to worry about!! I lived on campus my first year and move off campus sophomore year since it was cheaper. While living on campus, I didn't feel unsafe of that sort. When I had lunch, people were always joining me because they didn't want me to eat by myself. I already graduated last year. I loved A&M as much as anyone who loved their personal university. You are going to be great. Gig' em, Ags.
i got accepted into a&m! i am very excited!! but i need advice into where to live , i’m currently thinking of getting my own apartment but i’m not sure , i need to know if it’s better to live in a dorm or apartment:-(
I definitely liked living on campus because I could roll out of bed and walk to my classes. Also when it came to studying for finals, I didn't have to worry about walking all the way to my car and then driving to my apartment. You also don't really have to worry about parking. I currently live off campus and absolutely love it. I have more space and its cheaper. I highly suggest living on campus because its a way for you to meet people and get involved. Definitely look at apartments and compare them to the on campus rates to see which fits your budget best.
Hi, I'm considering transferring from PVAMU (an A&M HBCU). And I just wanted to know how your experience has been as an African American student at a PWI. I get told I'm "a white girl stuck in a black girl's body" but the news in the past few months about white supremacy leaders speaking on campus makes me a lil nervous. Please reply.
I would say get involved when you come to A&M. Try to take classes now that are related to your major so when you come to A&M that background knowledge can help. Also don't get 8 AMs every single day!!!! Just don't do it to yourself.
Be open to new experiences like joining a club you never thought about, participating in events like Big Event or Replant and make more friends that will stick with you. Don't forget about traditions. Experienced them at least once in your college career. 8 AM classes are killer unless you normally wake up early and used to it. Trust me waking up for high school is not the same as college. Other than that, remain open to different possibilities like study abroad, etc. You will do great!! Gig'em!
Girl yes I remember move in day at A&M for fall 2016 and it was raining and it was a mess 😂 I lost my dorm key in the rain and it was stressful lmao

Do you like it at A&M? Is it as conservative as people say it is?
I felt like it wasn't as conservative as I initially thought. It really does depend on the people you hang around.

I have seven years till college 😂❤️
Is the campus pretty diverse ethnically?
To be honest A&M is a predominantly white institution but it is growing in diversity.
Hey what dorm are you living in?
I live in one of the corridor style type of dorms which has a community bathroom.
