Awesome review man! I just got the Pathfinder Go for my work. A coworker has one and convinced me to get it! Can’t wait until it arrives tomorrow! Also, I’m debating to get this or the more expensive JBL Boombox 3 after I sell my two JBL Xtreme 2’s. I just love how this thing will last 100 hours on a single charge compared to 24 hours on that Boombox 3. So many nice features as well and the price difference, best bang for your buck that’s for sure!
I bought another brand of bluetooth speaker a few years ago. boom box sized. thankfully, someone did a video on how to swap out the battery. so when my battery would no longer charge i bought a new one for about 23 bucks. Im thinking in time someone will show you how to swap out the battery on this too - that saves it from the trash can. great video and love the Arizona Sun Devils. thanks. how funny, i didnt watch your video until the end and now see you talk about a battery replacement. much easier than on the one i did . thats a BIG selling point ! !
Hey Ken thanks for talking about the battery. I think the fact that batteries are disposable after a year or two is lost on most people. I don't understand why people don't have more concern for the quality and lifespan of batteries that power expensive devices. That said this is a lead acid battery thank you for explaining that, I'm glad we can get a replacement for cheap. That is super super important probably the most important thing so this doesn't turn into a piece of garbage after 2 years. However I wanted to say that lead acid batteries are a lot less expensive than lithium, that is probably why the price is so low. Also lead acid batteries are extremely heavy. If this device had a lithium battery it would be much lighter and much more expensive. Also I'm purchasing this for the sound quality, not disco lights and FM. mostly that means bass response. Bass is expensive to reproduce. Bass requires big speakers and big amplifiers. I agree with you it has good bass for the money.
@yoweee you are correct and thank you for your kind words. As an added point (that I failed to record) is that I was at the beach over Memorial weekend and I used my ION Pathfinder almost exclusively at about 25% volume and it was heard by many nearby (thank god no one was upset or offended) and enjoyable. As you know in the open environment with little to bounce the bass you can loose this effect but not at the beach! it was perfect! And I did for a short time bump it up to just under 50% and it was awesome! Lastly, as you know, lead acid batteries are great if you take care of them and will last years and if not the great feature is you can replace them rather easily. Anyway, thanks again!
Awesome. Now I’ve checked many reviews and I’ve found nothing on this. My main concern is the FM radio. How is the tuner? Can it pull in stations a bit far away or do you have to be çamped beside the towers. Thanks!
I looked at options for about a month, my son wanted a BIG locker room speaker for his hockey team. I have what I believe is just the newest model (Sport 320, identical to yours but has Gray under the handle instead of Red). So glad I didnt spend $600+ on a JBL, this has more than enough power to shake a concrete box locker room. Plenty loud for outdoor settings too like BBQs. Best feature is it can be used with plug or completely off battery as some rinks dont have outlets in their rooms. Battery life is great, just like you said, water resistance is legit, as it has certainly been splashed by water bottles after big wins. I bought from BestBuy website for $99. It is heavy but mine has the suitcase roller handle and wheels.
Hey Ken really appreciate the in depth review, got a question. So I have The Ion Sport XL, it only has one tweeter and a subwoofer, would this be a good upgrade? No sure if your familiar with the model I am talking about but I got mine from best buy.
@shattered pelvis good question and thank you for the kind words on my review. My answer is if you were just going by the specs then yes absolutely it's better with more play time more speakers more wattage... but I think I understand your question and if would it be worthy of an upgrade from what you have and I would say only if you dislike 2 things. You don't get enough volume from what you have now, and you don't like or use the microphone at all. If you say no to those 2 items then I would say no it's not a worthy upgrade for you at this time. I hope this answers your question.
Can you play this device while it is plugged in or its only played back using battery power? I don't want a "charged" device only - I want a good speaker that I can leave plugged in my garage and enjoy bluetooth
yes it does work while plugged in, you should have no issues with this in your garage. And to be honest this thing will last for days on battery power at a decent playing level from my experience.
@@KenPeriman Thanks for the quick response - I was looking at the soundcore speakers but these are only played back using battery power and wanted something more conventionally powered (electricity) - You just made my decision more easy and I will report when I get mine and used it :)
That's a really good question. I don't think so, but I will have to verify it. The reason i think why is there is no player built into this device, so it will just sit there if I plug it in. All of the instructions show that it's for charging only.
Good job with the review..I bought one at BJ's a week ago and still trying to use all the techy stuff it comes with...Happy Holidays my man!
Thank you I appreciate it.

Thanks for the review brother, just bought one for the boys at the shop, looking forward to using it when back from days off
That is awesome. Should be great and it will be perfect for a shop. Hope it does you well.

You sold me when you said "it puts out!" 🤣
Lol, love it Man! Thanks
Best review on this speaker 🔈 very professional
Thank you very much.

While I haven't tested the range of the FM radio i can say that it found a ton of channels easily and the signals were relatively strong.

That's awesome to here I'm glad you like at least a variant of the big boom machine (I like to call it). Enjoy
I have that BOSE Soundlink iii, as well. with every other Soundlink and BOSE speaker. It never dissappoints.
Absolutely agree with you there. Love it but unloved this Pathfinder too.
Do you recommend this speaker to me? Do you have good bass? Do you have an audio quality? 🤔
Yes to all of your questions. Good audio, good bass and I would recommend this.

@MarC-ot5gl just a sec. The speaker is behind me now so I will actually test it right now and confirm.
I can now 100% confirm it will play music while plugged in and charging.
@@KenPeriman Thanks a lot!! That is what I needed to know - You have earned a "subscribed"
Truck driving and skateboarding
Is what I use mine for
Right on
Nice Review...
Thank you, I appreciate it.
Hi there. What about the FM radio?
Yeah, you're right. Maybe I should have discussed it more. But it's actually great and tunes in great to my local stations.
@@KenPeriman thank you
U can count this man … its one of best bluetooth speaker … worth the price… n its big in size ( looks small in comparison with this big guy 😂)
Appreciate the comments on the speaker. About me not so much. let's just keep it about the products, cool. Thanks.
Can you play usb music on it?

Bluetooth n FM radio frequencies only there r 2usb for ph charge
@@amrindergill7218 agreed, no USB play
$69.99 from Costco
Nice, that's a great price
Lol no it’s not. That price is for the pathfinder go. Much smaller and not nearly the sound the 320 produces
You have a typo in your title. It's Pathfinder.
Thanks for that
And it's fixed
