It's this type of watch that makes me frustrated with Audemars Piguet. They clearly have the technical and artisanal skills to produce true haute horology. The craftsmanship is incredible, each element an outstanding work of art. And yet at the centre of it all, it's yet another Royal Oak. The Code 11.59 and recent [Re]Master 2 notwithstanding, AP just don't have a diverse portfolio in the way Patek or Vacheron do. If they could expand their offerings and designs, they really could be deserving of their 'Holy Trinity' moniker.
They know who their customers are and they buy these just to showoff their wealth and flex , they want to charge more to fix a simple movement that's all they do

I think Breguet would make a wonderful replacement in the Holy Trinity. Sure its a group brand, but they have all the horological chops including fine craft arts and they know how to keep it classy. Other suggestions, seeing as how we have an open spot? Do we include small independents?
I've never cared for a bejeweled watch, and I'm not necessarily a fan of skeletonized or open dials, but this watch is a work of art, and somehow it works for me. It would be easy to dismiss this piece as simply jewelry, but it's not. The watchmaking is impressive. It's swimmable, and it has lume. They could call this model "The Kitchen Sink."
