I'm now a salt water angler (freshwater for many years before) and like most of you with the problem hooking small aggressive species in gut. I usually fishing with a bolognese rod in the cost and no problem to me to modify the technique to use this hooks. I heard that it's not necessary to strike, you only have to reeling softly. What did you make in the moment you notice the fish eat the lure?
I've been using Circle Hooks on panfish for about 2 years now. I use a # 1 thin wire by FleFly. I catch Small to Large. Bluegill, Crappie, and Bass.
Wow!!! Thank you Sir for the this video, I'm switching to a circle hook 😎🇺🇲
Tried them for myself, works better than i thought!~
I am going to use these this year. I have gut hooked too many panfish. I want to drop that number to zero.
Ordered myself some of these hooks, well I think they are. We will see!! Thanks for the tip
FleFly make a better circle hook for panfish.
@@ReginalBronson thanks for the tip. I like the stuff they have. I don’t see the right size circle hooks, but loads of other stuff
@@johnhanes3450 the #1 is perfect.
Just got Gamakatsu circle hooks in size 8. Going to try them on rainbow trout. I hate gut hooking small trout. Hope this makes a difference.
Where did you find them at? I would like to pick some size 8s up as well
@@92Tabler Had to order them from Cabelas. I have a store that is not far from me. Order online and pick-up in store is free.
@@bobbyc1849 Awesome. I appreciate it
Well, did it make a difference?
Will be trying these hooks
circle hug no good, they no hug well🐟
Mosquito circle hooks work as well. This way, you don't have to go up in size to use a circle hook. I use them for fresh water and saltwater.
Hello sir from nepal i am so happy for ur watching video
Size #4 does look big for bluegills but it seems to work for you, so I will give it a try.
I've been thinking about circle hooks for bream. thanks for the test/demonstration. How about for crappie?
