Well made video. I ordered it when i saw it would generate a text file offline. I couldn't believe it littered the text with timestamps. It made it unusable. I was glad when you said there was a way to deal with the brackets. Unfortunately, putting it in chat gpt totally defeats the purpose of privacy. Glad it works for you, but it it's quite the contradiction of your introduction. The seller responded to my question about the brackets by telling me there is no way to get rid of them and that they are useful. Of course, there are no brackets when it is generating the text on screen, so that is a ridiculous thing to say. It would take one or two lines of code to eliminate the timestamps from the text file, so I'm truly flummoxed as to why it's like that. I can only conclude the engineers made it that way, and the product was never fully tested with real users. Disappointing all round, but it seems the only solve is to get someone to write a program to work with the text file. I guess this turned into a bit of a rant. ;) - Cheers
There are GenAI tools that work locally, I expect you could utilize one of those or, as you say, write a program. I agree with you that the company should offer a built-in filter or tool...

This is the entire reason I am choosing not to purchase.... cannot believe they won't offer a clear transcript that is actually readable, bad UI and UX.

I bought one of these with the primary expectation that it was a truly voice activated device - that it would actually start recording when it picked up a human voice. However, it appears that the unit has to be physically turned on - is this correct? Thanks again for a fine video! Good video. Can you make one on how to get off of the "stuck/"in-between screen"? This screen shows all black except for red bars in the middle of the screen and the indicator light slowly blinks.
Why would you need to do that? In terms of practicality, I'm not sure how that would work if you wanted to leave it running for weeks on end in voice-activated mode. Maybe check with Innioasis?
@@AskDaveTaylor Wow, that is an incredibly non helpful answer. It's not too unreasonable to ask if you can use this device while charging. For example if you were down to only a few percent battery left and you had an important meeting coming up knowing for sure that it will operate properly while being charged is extremely important.
Fair enough. You didn't specify why you were going to use a battery pack. Now that you're saying you want to recharge it while using it, that makes more sense.

I am not liking this new v recorder. It’s not loading the transfer onto my Dell Laptop. It’s too difficult to use. Plus I don’t see anywhere to change the time on it.
