Hi Stephen, I agree… especially for the fun to drive 😊
The SUV used to showcase the strength of the tridion was a 2000 to 2005 Ford Excursion

When ever I purchase a car, it has to give 3 things. 1 fuel economy, 2 Safety and 3 Fun. My Smart gives me all of these. Loved this video and cannot wait to see if your dislikes match mine.

Finally got my 451 back from the mechanic. £700 worth of parts and labour but it's an absolute joy to drive now. Engine running so sweet and smooth now. Falling in love with it all over again.

My 451 is due for its MOT soon and I already have £420 worth of things that need fixing lol. New rear springs, rear brake pipe, and front wishbone. Hopefully there’s nothing else that they find in the MOT.

I like how they handle and they are so easy to drive and park. Mine is the EV version and it's pretty snappy besides!

BTW, in 2008 only 5 cars got better than a 4 rating on the crash test
For the price of the other 4 cars, you could have bought 8 Smart Cars.
Oh, and yes. The Smart was rated 4.5

When I bought my smart in 2006 it was a diesel as that was all we could get in Canada at the time but I bought it for going back forth to work about 60 kms a day my payment, fuel ,insurance and service costs were less than what I was spending on fuel in my old beater dodge pickup. Plus it was a cool neat little car. And I am now in search of another one.

I have had a few issues with mine, it has broken down 3 times now, luckily the first 2 times it was still in warranty, it was the starter motor, then a loose wire after the refit. Now I have water coming in somewhere which was affecting the electrics. It started showing the ABS warning, then the dreaded 3 lines the next day when reversing out of my drive leaving me stuck in the middle of the road. Took it to a garage as a breakdown, they had it for 3 weeks and must have left it outside in the rain! When they finally got to look at it told me they would not work on it as I need a specialist garage. I had someone come and clear the errors via Star programme and did the gear re-teach. To be honest I hardly use it now in case it breaks down again. I have taken steps to dry it out using puppy pads under the carpets and on the seats which was soaking as well and put a breathable cover all the time now. I did ring around other garages but they will not work on it when I tell them water is getting in 😢 to me this is the problem trying to get someone to fix it 🙃

Hi Stephen. For me there is an added attraction. Absence of tech interference. No clever devices that ostensibly try to take so many driving 'chores' away, or get in the way of what you're doing. Lane assist, auto braking sensors, auto speed controls, electronic parking brake Aaargh! I've managed to drive for fifty three years without all this CRAP. Keyless entry is another STUPID idea that is backfiring spectacularly. Smarty actually reminds me of the old Peugeot 205. Simple, raw, communicative.

My only issue with my Smart is having to haul it 2 1/2 hours away for MB to do any 'repairs' .... I'm taking it in one more time then I will start doing my own work on it. Love my Smart!!
    Edit: Love your vids also!
