Quit blaming the coaching staff. The roster isn't playing like they are supposed to. There is no fire in them to win like the opposing team. If they want to make the playoffs, they have gotta possess the puck most of the time and keep the opponent away from the front of our net. We've gotta get in front of their net more and jam the puck in. This roster seems to be more concerned about personal stats once again, going back to their losing ways. We need to eliminate or waive at least Rasmussen and Copp and possibly Compher. Fischer plays with heart but we just don't have anybody who can gell with him. It's the same players usually, day in and day out, who are messing up, and usually the same players that are playing well during a game, but there is once again no fire in this roster to want to win badly enough. Todd McClellan and his assistant are not the problem here. Some of this roster are way over paid and can't perform on a daily basis because they're either not worried about where the team is going or not worried about their contracts knowing they'll have to get paid regardless of what happens. Either they don't have those instinctive skills to protect the net on breakaways or just don't want to work hard enough to cover an open opposing player. The opposing team has easily scored on the Wings in the recent losses. I think it's time to start bringing up the youth and put some of these other players on the roster on waivers since they're not playing to win. Some of these players are barely showing up. Husso should have been gone a long time ago. Rasmussen is not even a factor on the ice and should probably be placed on waivers. With some of the bad apples who do not want to perform every time on the ice should be benched, sent to the minors, or waived immediately. Effort means a lot when these players are pushing on all cylinders. A lot of time during the game, they are not. Again, do not blame McLellan or his assistant. This lethargic nonsensical playing was going to happen after the honeymoon was over. Thing is, those who've decided to keep to this style of playing on the ice should be pulled to the side and dealt with, to either get with the program or get out altogether.
i see all the comments trashing the same guys - and correctly - but the only guy McLellan has actually punished that we've seen is Kane. Kane, who carried the team during the hot streak and has been one of the best players game in game out since McLellan got here. that's the guy he demotes to 4th line tonight. to 'send a message'. yea, message sent. the coach is a bum, that's the message.
Man now i see why Datsyuk was so dominant he would never let player skate away with the puck like Kane and some other players do and just watching opponets score on you.
Listening to fan comments after a loss is terrible. We lost 2 back to backs against 2 top teams in the league and everybody calls for Yzerman's head.... 5 on 5 needs to improve but I'm not calling it a season after losing to a couple great teams. We're better than this, Detroiters
😂 people love to point fingers and over react. We were outclassed and outplayed. These are contender teams… we should not expect to beat them, but be grateful if we do. I hope we can get a win in PHI tomorrow… .500 for this road trip would be a W in my opinion.
Compher isn't worth a bag of chips. Neither is Copp, Chariot, or Rasmussen. Between these 4 guys alone, Yzerman is spending nearly 20 million dollars a year for the next 3-4 years. Let that sink in.
We attended this game and it was a difficult one to watch. I didn't see the effort by the Wings that I'd expected. They stepped up their hitting in 2nd and I really expected their goal in the 3rd to be a catalyst.
the team was not going to come back and rally while Kane was being embarrassed/punished by being put on 4th line, no. the team and the room runs on him.
No Power Play goals = No offence from the Wings. Told you they were Power Play merchants. It bailed them out in Florida (along with Talbot) It bailed them out in the winning streak. Because 5 on 5 we are terrible. Oettinger wasn't even tested tonight. The lack of depth on this team is embarrassing. The defense was awful for all 4 goals. Not Todd's fault obviously...this roster is 70% garbage. The fact Seider is playing with Ben Sh*terot is criminal at this point. Only good thing was Johansson getting 20 minutes and looking solid. But we out shot them right? That means we won.
It was an attempt to find a second line center. Dude played 2C in Colorado not that long ago. It was an attempt to fill the hole that didn't pan out, legit 2Cs are not easy to come across in the league.
No love! Y’all need to let Cossa start playing in the net. You need to get better at the 5 on 5 offense, and smarten up on the defense. And stop letting them score on your net too! You’re letting them take a dump on you, literally!
You also need to better yourselves when it comes to scoring. No opposing goalie deserves to be that damn invincible! No wonder I hate giving up on this team.
I've been screaming for Cossa to get an honest chance. Talbot looked like his legs were in traction the other night. Lyon is a good 2nd. Husso i never wanna see again. Cossa? We don't know. Let's find out!
Team is wayyy to easy to play against. Let other teams especially around their net just walk right in. They need to hang onto the puck as much as possible to even have a shot at winning games. Steve definitely has to do some work in the summer get the proper personell to compliment Todd’s coaching style for next season
88 had a bad start , ok looked like he hurt the shoulder ,went to the dressings room now it’s 3-0 and he’s just not feeling it maybe a little tired whatever, could he have stayed in the room absolutely but because of pride and not wanting o give up ! Comes back and he’s on the 4th line ! Think about this the worst PP team just saw the best PP point man ! I won’t like him in green but don’t be surprised! And 11 has been brutal for this stretch and I don’t see any lesson being taught there ! Fun while it lasts but won’t be long !Thanks 88
Nope. The Power Play hasn't bailed them out. Otherwise this team offers nothing. Outside of Seider, Ed, Raymond, Larkin and maybe Kane. Nobody wants these players. They've waived multiple guys and NONE got picked up.
@@Eli-thebengalsfan I won't. I said from the start of the season, the roster is rubbish. And no Power Play goal ridden winning streak has changed my mind.
This is one thing I'm leaning to agree on. The only reason I give him slack is because Todd is the first non-rookie coach Larks has had in his entire career. But if he fails to lead us to the first round by next year it's time to put Seider in. Just listening to their interviews, Seider looks more like a Captain....It's time for Larkin to shine under a bonafide coach
@@justincowen441Exactly, for what in return? correct. yet the only guy McLellan goes after is the dude w 15 points or whatever in the last 10 games. great coach.

Chiarot only has 1 year left
Voleno too imo

the treatment of Kane in this game by that new coach has the potential to completely collapse the rest of the season. it was just a bizarre decision.
45 games an 6 goals, dude this guyy is trash.
A 3rd liner like him will usually only average between 10-15 goals and 30-40 points in a season. So he’s actually not doing bad.
