Very helpful! 4 months with my first batch of polish crested and I love them! we are a small scale market farm, we don't show but now after meeting these sweet chicks I can see how one could become very enthusiastic about them😊 Thank you for the post!
Thank you! Tape is genius! I've tried, rubber bands and hair clips but she loses them almost immediately. Some people had suggested trimming her feathers, but I've been so afraid of poking her eyes I didn't do that yet. We have a silver laced polish bantam hen that has so many feathers she can hardly see to eat, and can't find her way around the yard. She has been living in a cage in the house with us because she gets lost outside and can't find her way back to the coop (or anywhere else really). She spent 2 nights outside SOMEWHERE that we never found her, and then showed up again one day. So we're trying to help her be able to see so she can live with the flock again. I love this idea! Praying it works.
tinyzoo do not trim the feathers as they are hollow and it can make it very easy for them to get an infection and maybe die I do not suggest cutting their feathers
Thank you for sharing this . Didn't think of using painters tape lol, buying hair tape for Sally's can be expensive sometimes for such a little amount of the hair tape . But blue painters tape never would have thought of it thank you Sarah.
I used a small hairband on one of my polish hens and she could finally see her surroundings. Unfortunately she managed to get it off after a couple of hours. I might try the tape and see if that works.
I tried this and my polish frizzle went crazy! She vigorously shook her head and used her feet to scratch it off! It looked hilarious. But I made sure it wasn't tight, so I'm not sure why she didn't like it? Any thoughts?
I had to do this on two of my polish and it works perfectly. Thanks for posting this video!

Sometimes they just freak. My advise would to try it when they are roosting and she might not go as crazy.
May you should just trying doing a little trim instead.
Jane Schommer you can’t trim the feathers because they are hollow and it will make it very easy for them to get infections through the feathers
