    My singing voice was ruined after having several surgeries in a short amount of time. The intubation for the anesthesia can be very damaging to the vocal cords. If you sing and need surgery, make sure you tell the anesthesiologist this. They will try a bit harder to place the tube. Keep in mind there is always risk as they have a very small amount of space to work with.

    This is so poignant for me. I stopped singing for 20 years because of ridicule. I use to sing 4 octaves naturally. It took a lot of training and practice to get 75% of my range but my passagio still gives me grief

    Omg Coach you are more than amazing, I have decided to learn singing almost month and a half ago , And I didn’t know about you Before the last week and I felt so sad , Because i have thought many times of giving up , But when i found out about your channel you Brought my Hope and my passion in singing back , And i said to myself, Since when my voice was this good? In only one week i could fix my tone and know how to ACTUALLY breathe and I found my OWN REAL voice ! And you always made it up so easy and fun and you make me laugh and that relive my stress , I’m still not good at singing and I know it will takes alot of time and effort for me to have a good voice and I wanna give up sometimes, But Singing is the most thing that makes my heart go on fire , so again I wanna thank You from the deepest point of my heart , I wish you happy long life Full with happiness and peace and health I love you coach I wish i can be like you In everything Positive and kind and Beautiful ❤
    I REALLY HOPE YOU SEE THIS TO GIVE A LIL OF HAPPINESS LIKE YOU ALWAYS DO TO ME

    I honestly find that being no illness, I always find that i sound the best after a break ironically,. The longer the longer the better,.. is that normal lol

    • @TheKarahLife
      @TheKarahLife 9 дней назад

      I guess I’d have to say it would depend on how long. For me - I was struggling with my voice and though not something she normally does, a Voice Teacher told me to go on a two weeks vocal rest. It wasn’t easy, but I did it. When it was over my voice was back but not for long. I finally realized it was because I wasn’t singing with the best technique, which brought me to the need for the vocal rest. I had been sick, moved, had new allergies and just a whole series of challenges so I wasn’t singing as often too.
      Then, after another series of illnesses and surgeries, for about 13 years, I was unable to string an in-tune phrase together and that was devastating. For the first time in my life I had no control over my voice and I couldn’t make it do what it used to do. Sounds a lot like what Victoria is talking about. When I found the amazing coach I have now, we had our work cut out for us getting me back on track.
      Thankfully, I was led to the right teachers at the right time (for me, a God thing) and now my voice is better than it was before. Stronger, more range, colors, resonance, control - but I do have to work harder at maintaining it than I ever did before. The confirmation in this video is so encouraging!
      So I think we’re all different and how much time off works for us/we need. Recently, my band and I, were unable to get together and rehearse for a month, even though we did our home rehearsals. But when we came back together, we were very strong so I do think short breaks can be good but again we’re all different in what that looks like for each of us. I definitely learned a lot about what happens to my voice when I fall out of routine for too long.
      This is an excellent video! I kind of wish I’d run into it many years ago, but my journey took another path and I’m very happy to be where I am now. Because I struggled with my voice for so long I’m now able to encourage others on the journey too.

    Use it or lose it. As always, very good advice. I always thought working on developing and maintaining strength and endurance in the muscles of respiration was important to provide strong breath support (management?) and protect one from tightening and straining the throat and that singing exercises and so on were for learning and maintaining smooth adjustments to vocal fold tension and closure. I still do, but it occurs to me that we also are strengthening the thryroarytenoid and cricothyroid muscles when we practicer. Not to achieve bodybuilder type muscles but more like those of a dancer. Fred Astaire more than Gene Kelly, perhaps. Just a thought. I really enjoy your channel.

    I had no idea I had to sing soft songs too to take care of the voice, I thought that the time in between my practice sessions when I was not singing was enough for the voice yo rest 😮
    Also you said once that you recommend taking a day off a week, I didn't know that either, do you have any soft songs you would recommend for the voice to rest? 😊❤

    I was considering to buy your online program, but I don’t know which one to choose like bass/baritone, tenor, alto/mezzo… I dont know, all I can say is that I have a pretty deep voice so maybe you know which one is the best for deep voices. Thanks

    • @Victoria-Victorious
      @Victoria-Victorious  7 дней назад

      In answer to your question, each program covers 2 1/2 octaves in range. If singers are not sure of their voice type, I recommend ordering alto/mezzo-soprano for women and bass/baritone for men, especially for beginners. That is for lower to medium voice types, so unless you consider your voice to be high, this should work. If not, you have 30 days to switch to the higher voice category. Some singers do order 2 programs if they have a large range.

      Just about any exercise can be applied any genre, as I show in my audio exercise training program.The difference is mainly in the vowel shape and resonance. See my video on Classical vs. Pop Singing.
