One thing I know for sure.
I am from ccpur district.
In the beginning month of April 2023, the state govt. began eviction after serving the notice at many places starting from Imphal and one particular place in ccpur called k.songjang village. The govt displaced the villagers at k.songjang. that was Biren first mistake.
Already gave time to those who illegally encroached forest lands,but they paid no heed to the Govt. Order.....hahaha are u trying to narrate a new story with this

When the government initiated steps to identify these illegal settlers and reclaim the forested areas, the Kuki community responded with agitation, ultimately escalating into violent conflict. This defiance, paired with their insistence on claiming rights to land that is not theirs, has contributed significantly to the unrest.
Moreover, this wave of immigration has created demographic imbalances in Manipur, with reports indicating that the Kuki population in the state now includes a large number of non-citizens. The illegal settlements have been linked to other issues, such as the cultivation of poppy fields, which are part of a larger drug trafficking network tied to the Golden Triangle. This has not only caused severe environmental damage but also brought international criminal activity into the region.
The conflict is thus not simply about ethnic or political differences, but about the flagrant violation of law and order, the degradation of protected areas, and the refusal of illegal immigrants to follow the rules set by the state. The state's efforts to restore legal order and environmental balance have been met with resistance from the Kuki settlers, who have chosen violence over negotiation, pushing the region into a state of conflict.
This situation requires urgent action to restore the rule of law, reclaim illegally occupied land, and address the demographic and environmental challenges posed by unchecked immigration from Myanmar

We Hindus have let another group of our brothers and sisters become refugees in the land of their birth. We are cowards and sleepwalk from one crisis to the next.
