- This is a cracking show and I think better than the first episode. Paul performs the Egg Bag, Chain Con and a nice routine with a tape recorder. The Morettis perform one of their great routines (the sword box), and George Carl is weird and fun and a big influence on my own mime act.
Usual rules apply, I've cleaned up the picture as best I can, and I hope you like it... All together now.. "Not a lot!"

Paul Daniels, what a absolutely fantastic magician.
He leaves me completely baffled with the magic he does.
I remember watching this the first time around ... Brilliant.
Me too. I think George Carl is the man who does the routine with multiple lit cigarettes appearing and disappearing. Maybe that's on another edition? The Morettis, too. If I think of Paul's show, that's the first guest act I associate with it. I particularly enjoyed Paul's "Mission Implausible" cassette routine. How was that done? Sometimes the audience has an inkling of an idea, but that really seems inexplicable! Wonderful to watch again. :-)
These videos are solid gold.. and the image and sound quality is astounding.. I LOVED George Carl. What a performance.
I met paul Daniels in the early 80s
I saw his show in London with my mum
I managed to get hold of his autograph
Which I still have today

I'm really enjoying watching these early shows again. The first series I really good (I've just cleaned up episode 3 and it's my favourite so far).

On my channel I also have one video of the Moretti's sword box routine - from a German TV show. One day this video was apparently linked on some popular web page and was in short time flooded with a lot of comments. It is easy to imagine that when a large crowd comes together they can crack any magic. Especially when they may use stop motion. I think it was indeed the case that time. By joined efforts it was finally understood how this illusion was most likely done. I will not repeat the details here. I only mention that the concept itself is pretty simple, but the technical realization had to be very skillful. And it did not rely on the so called "planted spectators", it should have really worked with randomly picked up audience members.
