The 20 and 50 bundles are at least more reasonable because it's at least justifiable to say that the pass is 20 and the base Ultimate Ahri skin is 30, which I believe almost basically what it comes out to if you bought the pass and one of the existing ultimate skins available you don't currently own.
In our country, the pass is 10 and the base ahri is 25. Higher option is 120 and the highest is 200 dollars

Anything that's not free is ridiculous to people who are piss poor, that's the reality and why company can keep getting away with it. If you are mad at it, you are not the target audience. I'm a day trader and make $1k an hr on average risking much more, other people who make similar or more than me don't care about the prices.

But imagine how many more they'd sell if it was $50 usd a pop, instead of $500. It's Faker, not just another prestige skin, the interest on this one is way higher than quite literally any other skin or skin line ever made in any game that isn't exactly Fortnite.

People are 'hung up' on the 'sparkly' version because of several things, like;
- Riot created shiny thing with extreme FOMO, which is a dirty marketting tactic that should be regulated heavily.
- It prevents one tricks from owning all their champs cosmetics.
- It's 'opinion' of clearly the majority of the community that it's the best part, and for a lot of people, the only good part.
- It dishonours fakers legacy waaaaaay more than it actually honours it.
- $50 or less in many places, isn't $50 or less in most places.
- $500 is gatekeeping, in my country it's much more than that. It's quite literally nearly an entire paycheck here.
And it's all for a cosmetic, that holds zero value, within a game that lets you 'rent' skins but never own, on an account that can be taken from you at any time, the criteria for which can also be changed at any time, to whatever they want, while simultaneously putting both less effort into the games health/design and treating the entire community like they're dumb, poor and levels of toxic they aren't because the company decided to go unofficially woke.
There are sooooo many reasons why players are pissed.
They're 'monthly active players' is artifically inflated, they're player base is dying off, they know that. That's why the e-sport scene is being cut, and why they've been pushing for more skins like this and getting more expensive and why they made so many lay offs a few months ago and why they're pushing for so many different non league of legends projects, because they aren't sustaining themselves, because they fumbled the fucking bag in how they treated us, and they're still acting ignorant af.
These are all things we know, not because they would ever dare admit it, but because redditors decided to data mine and go full gogo gadget.
We do not like this company, submitting to the 'cheaper' option like they want you to in the first place is conforming to misstreatment, and a part of the problem. The company isn't omnipotent, but your response certainly pretends they are and like you're happy about it.
Go into a game, and tell someone you were diagnosed with cancer today, go ahead. And after that, submit an appeal and show them proof, watch them deny you regardless.

Yes I am well aware of all the things you are saying and once again do not understand why EVERYONE needs to be able to own things for free in their free game. It's also not 500$ for the skin. The pack with the skin is like 300$ (still a lot, don't get me wrong, I just get annoyed when people inflate it to make it sound even worse). The 500$ one is for the sparly emote, which is even more pointless. It's an entire paycheck for my country too. And guess what I choose to not spend it for the skin. Crazy how I can do that and be perfectly content despite being a huge esports and Faker fan for years.
The player base has been dying off ever since I can remember and everyone is talking about league dying since forever. I've yet to see it happen. I personally don't know how much to trust randoms on reddit about things they data mined, time will tell. None of us have the full picture, all we can do is guess. My guess based on how this skin is selling is that they are fine. All companies do cost-cutting and layoffs, it sucks and I feel sorry for people who lost their jobs, but again it's how business works. I personally think it's also do to with how much better AI is getting, they probably need a lot less people to function. Them expanding into other things isn't really an indication that they are doing poorly financially. Companies who are doing poorly don't try to expand usually.
Faker's name is used as advertisement since he bacame popular. It's not something new or unexpected. The HoL ceremony imo was still really nice. You can always just congratulate him on that. Or buy T1 merch or w/e without giving riot money if you feel like it.
Also this is not the opinion of the majority like you want to think. The majority doesn't spend any time on reddit reading your hate threads, the average player has no clue about this outrage. They see a pretty skin and go "oooh, me wants". Lots of people probably also barely know who Faker is, not all of them follow esports.
The company is not omnipotent, precisely. If I felt mistreated I wouldn't play anymore. It's really simple actually. There's thousands of games out there. I do not consider not getting a skin as mistreatment. I actually do not give a fuck about the skin. The day skins start giving you stats in game I will join you in complaining about it(or again just quit and go to a better game). Until then, if people want to "collect" all skins then I don't feel sorry for them if riot charges them money for it.

I only play Ahri, and my father knows I've enjoyed the game alone without friends and I do it on my off time when I'm able. I have a lot of Ahri skins, but I guess my dad found out about this one. Sneekly got on my pc and bought the skin. The 250 version. I still think he shouldn't have, but it's my most prized skin now. Faker, my favorite Ahri player, and now my dad has made this skin worth more to me. I am upset that riot is asking for a lot of money on only pixcles and if someone's really mad at you, can just get you banned too. It's scary to think that people are willing to pay this and not affored food, or rent because some people are being money grinders. 😢 but thanks dad

I know these overpriced "status symbols" (whether it be cars, clothing, watches, etc.) won't go away, since there now is demand for it, but I still think it's a scummy business practice that preys on people's insecurities and "fomo". before this skin, there was no demand for overly expensive skins in lol, the most expensive skin was 30 bucks, this is about 15 times that. just imagine if a car company released a new car that was 15 times more expensive than their most expensive car, the sudden difference is just jaring.

Another thing to point out regarding high number of HoL skin in South Korea: Even though it was limited to few purchases, Korea has RP discount event (first come first serve) + bonus product (mouse pad, key caps, key rings, figures, etc) event (random among those who complete pass).
Basically they are able to pay less and attempt to get more. None of such events are being held in any other servers.
If HoL is meant for EVERYONE to celebrate Faker, I am not sure why one server should get much more than the others.

Riot gave away all of those free prestige skins for free "Via" Passes per season and you can milk the damn pass by playing with bots. So now they make a skin for exclusivity and they are selling out. Literally none of these skins are exclusive anymore. Someone has a prestige "Etc" skin. This one will weed out the free from the not free's. All these years they have been giving good skins with paid artist to do their skins including the gorgeous prestige true damage senna and ekko which itself should of been a 200 dollar skin but they gave it for free. Once in a blue they sell skins and chromas for high amounts. The whole game is free and you guys decide to boycott riot OH PLZ. Ive been playing since s2 and most of you guys have been playing since s6. The amount of shit riot gave out for FREE is insane. No other free to play game would ever do that. It would take weeks to get a hextech box on another game.

If the guy plays 20 games a day, they still enjoy playing it for 15-14 games. I'm pretty sure they still enjoy it, also with whales their whole point is to feel a sense of power using their money, so seeing "peasants" Desperately trying to stop them playing ahri just gave them massive ego boost once they manage to play ahri lol
