The post office here in NYC has some all electric step vans I have seen working in Manhattan, for local city type work I can see light cargo delivery service working if the cost of solar panels comes down far enough to make it a workable way to add charge while "unplugged" and on the road. When I was a kid in the very early 60's a laundry in the neighborhood had all electric delivery vans that looked like converted stage coaches, and they even had wooden spoke wheels. They died all over the place, but some ran successfully. I assume that a business like that, or a take out food delivery service could use all electric light trucks. My idea for long haul would be to have solar panels on the trailer or single piece box truck roof. Battery size could be reduced by having a small diesel engine running a generator at a constant speed where diesels run the cleanest and most efficiently so I have read. An auto start/stop feature on the diesel could supplement power demands or when running at night I suppose. Diesel electric hybrid buses run around NYC pretty well, and they are quick and haul crowds well. I suppose it will be quite some time before anything changes in a mainstream way though. A lot of companies are going CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) and saving money at the pumps but I see it a number of years off before they're all that way. Man that Thermo King really pops! love the red and how it separates itself from the rest of the trailer...

I honestly don't see it happening in ten years maybe in 30 the needs to be a drastic change in Battery Technology and wait for that to happen and price

When I hop into my Peterbilt 389 and start it up. When I change my camera to 1 and when I look at the dashboard do you have any idea why it is not showing the gears ?

Two words: Wind Power. With all the wind hitting the trucks with aerodynamics, we could easily make small intakes that have mini-turbines and have the generator so that the whole thing is like a miniature wind turbine. It may take some time to engineer, but it is a practical idea. And we could also install some solar panels on them so that if at a low speed or stopped, the truck will still charge in light.
well people don't think of using shine as gas but it works but I will admit it is alittle harder on your engine but it only works with 100% or higher shine well it works better that way just people don't wanna think of using alcohol in their car
I have no idea where to start honestly. I would suggest clearing out all of the mods for that profile and then using ONLY the 389 and see if you still crash. Are you using the V2 from the workshop?

Yep,they have reefer trailers. I've seen them...and if you look at the "supply chain" photo in the link...WOW a reefer trailer to keep those grocery items cold because no one likes warm milk and melted ice cream en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Target_Corporation
Long beach docks god like 10 years ago or close to. had like 4 battery yard jockeys a driver of one said it will do a 12hr shift then 12hrs to charge so is it possible of course, otr you could do 600 in a day a guy I fix his boat on weekends he has a model s they say or said 400 to a charge, he says bull he gets about 200-230. alot shorter then 600 would need 3 times that at least. then like you said places to charge.
Oh I usually go customer to customer so sitting in truck stop for 10 hrs would mess up my log I'm so with you but was saying that I know of they have been work for about 10 years in long beach. with say a 600 mile limit yoh get hit at a traffic jam your stuck
Do you have any other accessories loaded besides the ones from the 389? Look at the game.log in the ATS folder. At the bottom,it should tell you the errors and you should be able to tell what caused the crash.
Hello @casketman20 ☺️I love watching your videos. I also drive for a living and my neighbor ended up getting this game and showing me because I didn’t even know it existed lol. So I went out and dropped some money on a computer to play while at home, but I truly want to have a stretched 389. I have researched until blue in the face and have gone through your videos and the steam workshop, but for the life of me I cannot find one to download. There are so many skins and quote on quote stretched frames with rear wheel covers. Ive downloaded so many and nothing works, my truck is still a basic 389. Do we have to pay someone to mod a truck for us or ?Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Driver.
The 389 from viper2 is still one of the top 389 mods out there. I believe there is a paid 389 by John Ruda but I don't focus on paid mods and I haven't looked at ATS mods in some time as I've moved on to other games.

I have my mods list in the description. There I have the v2 from Viper which should take you right to the Steam Workshop for the subscribe(it will auto download to your game) or the V3 from TAM that you will have to download and install yourself.

It's a option if you spin around to the back. Sometimes the option bubbles do not show so you might have to move to the side to get it to pop up.

Having that rack shouldnt be a issue. I used to run one but that was a older version
for the default Ken W900 I mean. I tried pinga edits but it forces you to use a sleeper...lengthening the truck

Electric motors are pretty good on torque.

Sorry I thought I typed they need the torque at the lower rpms so they put down the power down in those rpms to be efficient
A electric motor has full horsepower and torque from start it don't need to build up like a fuel burning motor.
