Honestly, as a Colombian, i was very disappointed not only at the fact that they changed the whole song, but also that in the end they decided to give all the attention to these three singers who had nothing to do with the movie (one of them not even being Latina at all), and send the actual Colombian and Latino people and real voice actors at the back of the stage. My whole family and i were very excited about the performance, and it really left us with a bad taste in our mouths.
Tbh i feel the same way even tho I'm not Colombian, i stayed up all night thought they would sing the original version since all the casts were here i was super disappointed i don't even know how to react -
I was obsessed with Encanto (still am, but not nearly as much now) after seeing it for the first time, and when the Oscars happened, I didn't care or really know what they were as usual, but my parents were watching it and my mom said they were going to perform an Encanto song and she hyped it all up. Then when she called me out to watch that part and it was Dos Oruguitas I was so disappointed but pretended not to be and sat through it, then this came on and I thought _Oh, ok, so they are going to do one of the main songs. Sweet!_ I was skeptical from the start, but the second the rap sequence started I died a bit inside. They _truly_ demolished the entire song. Thank you for reading my rant.

Part of me doesn't want to hate on this performance too much, as I'm sure that there was a fair amount of effort put into it, but I also know that that's just me trying to comfort myself after feeling so disappointed. I really liked the first part of the performance, but then the rapping came in and I just... I stopped smiling. I was literally speechless for the rest of it, and not in a good way. No one else gets why I was upset at this. ';-; I get that it's not a huge deal, but I didn't know ahead of time that they were going to perform WDTAB, so I got really excited when they started singing it. I remember seeing this post on twitter after this came out there was a little girl who was all dressed up as Pepa. But, as soon as this hot garbage finished she fell on the floor crying. It made me feel really bad for the little girl because she was ADORABLE dressed as Pepa. They added absolutely nothing to the song and in fact the harmony sounded AWFUL who ever did this murdered the song then took its placed and hoped no one would notice.

Part of me doesn't want to hate on this performance too much, as I'm sure that there was a fair amount of effort put into it, but I also know that that's just me trying to comfort myself after feeling so disappointed. I really liked the first part of the performance, but then the rapping came in and I just... I stopped smiling. I was literally speechless for the rest of it, and not in a good way. No one else gets why I was upset at this. ';-;
I get that it's not a huge deal, but I didn't know ahead of time that they were going to perform WDTAB, so I got really excited when they started singing it. I guess I just got my hopes up when I shouldn't have.

No lie, when it started off, I was singing and just vibing, and I was ready to start singing Dolores’ part and Meghan Thee Stallion came on and starting rapping made me die inside and my face went from 🤩to☹️ in a span of 3 seconds

I remember seeing this post on twitter after this came out there was a little girl who was all dressed up as Pepa. But, as soon as this hot garbage finished she fell on the floor crying. It made me feel really bad for the little girl because she was ADORABLE dressed as Pepa. They added absolutely nothing to the song and in fact the harmony sounded AWFUL who ever did this murdered the song then took its placed and hoped no one would notice.

One of my many issues with this “first live preformance” is that Encanto is a Disney movies so a lot of kids have seen it and love the song, but I bet most of those kids don’t even know who Megan Thee Stallion is in the first place. Also it was just completely disappointing
