Chorus:
I thought she knew
My world revolved around her
My love light burns for her alone
But she couldn't see the flame
Only myself to blame
I should have known
I should have known

Anyone come here to be reminded of this song after they mentioned it as a top 5 *NSYNC song on Hot Ones? 😍🔥
Yes and I can’t believe I’d never heard it before!
Yep!
Yup! Glad Lance brought it up!
Me!!!
Yep😂
No longer criminally underrated if the band themselves put it as their top 4 song!
That's why I'm here! I had to hear it again. It's been years!!!
HI HOT ONES CREW!!
*NSYNC's Mt Rushmore
1. I Thought She Knew
2. Bye Bye Bye
3. Tearin' Up My Heart
4. It's Gonna Be Me
Honorable Mention
5. This I Promise You
I really thought This I Promise You will take the last spot. It's my favorite but now I Thought She Knew is becoming my favorite lol
It’s a special song to them cos it’s the first song they ever sang together.
legit ive never heard this in my life and its a beautiful song
Joey's harmony with Lance add so much depth to this song. Joey was truly their secret weapon!!!!
Imo it's Chris. To many people think he's not necessary but without him all we'd hear is Lance.
For me its Lance, having a really good, deep bass voice in harmonies really make songs better.something BSB and Westlife sadly didn't have.
@@killjoysmakesomenoise668 westlife had kian and bsb had kevin, though I agree it wasnt as deep and whole as lances but what they all had In common was they didn't get any damn lines.
@@kevinkchao8 Lance was a legit Bass tho. Westlife and Bsb didn't have a Bass from what I recall.
@@misterbobby8913 They didn't have a "true" bass but were given that role. Lance did the best though imo.
I point to this song any time someone puts these guys down, or any time someone tells me one direction was good. NSYNC could harmonize, they weren't just 5 soloists singing in unison. And this song isn't just a capella and pop, it's vocal jazz territory- some of those chords are difficult to sing and they nail each and every one of them. This is such an underrated piece of music.
More than a feeling shows they can sing aswell. Thats a good song too
Same here. When anyone says they can't sing I make them listen to this song. A true 5 part harmony is so difficult to pull off. And to do it and sound so in sync, no pun intended, is incredible. And Lance deserves so much more love. His bass gives this so much depth
All credit to the compositor for the arrange, but they deserve whole recognition, too.
It took them years to reach this level of master piece, but they did and it's amazing. I listen to it many times just to appreciate each of the voices.
PS: Maybe just because it's out of ny vocal range, but Lance's bass lines are really good. Dude, he really had a deep voice (even if it wasn't that powerful in a studio song)
Do Your Thing on the Celebrity album shows this as well…whew 😅
one direction in live performances had the common 3 part and the other two would also sing the melody.
if i’m not mistaken, the most one direction done was the 4 part in studio recordings.
NSYNC were basically an acapella group disguised as a boy band, which is awesome
N
Word
@@aaliyahgustav1894 I
They had the best vocals!
So are the Backstreet Boys
Chris has a nice voice
Said no one, ever!
He has a big voice, because is countertenor
@@santinomarko4363 lol I said It
@Terra Realm and mine!!
yes he really does
This song will forever hit so hard 🤧
Quentin Carey no lies detected!
U too!? 😒🤨
Period
@ Quentin Carey
😮💨😔
is it just me or does this have a Christmas vibe to it..? LOL
Chris is so much more talented than people knew... his voice is really unique too.
Yessssss him and Joey tore it up.
I AGREE!!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🙌🏾
They definitely should've gotten to sing lead way more!
He sings in I drive myself crazy too. We know he’s that good.
@@michellemckillop5712 It upset me that in the music video version they got rid of Chris's solo in it, and replaced him with Justin. :-/
@@TheEarthRealm No they replaced him with JC in the UK version. In the American version Chris is still singing his part in the video look it up
Praises go out to Lance, Chris and Joey with this one!
Lance “the bass” Bass, Joey “the baritone” Fatone and counter tenor Chris really allow NSYNC to shine above the rest. They make the harmony! And ofc JC and Justin are always amazing!
Hold on, sorry. Old comment, really hoping for a response. I wasn't, and arguably am presently not, a fan, but Lance's function in that band was to bring the back end? The smallest kid in the bunch? Not Joey or JC?
@@colinbanning9416 Joey was the bass singer. He did all of the lowest harmonies. Joey blended the high and low as the baritone.
Man. The harmonies in this song just is everything I loved about choir and singing a capella. Absolute chills.
Listening to this after 20 years after NSYNC claimes on Hot Ones this is their favourite song of theirs ❤
Me too, I never knew about this song! I probably just skipped over it every time…
JC’s voice is so clear and controlled. So good.
this is JC's favorite among Nsync songs!
I actually didn’t know this song until now (thanks Hot Ones) and I was an *NSYNC fan back then.. must have been under a rock
I was also living under a rock…….just like Patrick Star. 🙃😑
Lance is so on point in this song
Here again after hearing the bands "Mount Rushmore" list on Hot Ones. Easy to see why this is in their top 4.
First song they ever sang together.
Jc❤❤ Chris ❤❤❤ those high notes
Don't forget Joey. That high note he hit before Chris took over is 👌🏾 chef's kiss
Whose here from Hot Ones?
Yass! 😂😂
The song is and always will be criminally underrated.
I didn’t understand it when No string attached dropped but boy do I get it now in my 30s
❤
Yes
The boys just rated it a top 4 of all time on Hot Ones
@@TravisRiverI just came on here to say that same thing
Who came back here to hear this song after the Hot Ones episode with NSync?
Grew up listening to this album on my boombox! I would play it before bed and sleep to this song since it's the last track. Love *NSYNC forever! ❤️

Wow, they really were so talented. I got chills all over my body.
Here because of Hot Ones - interesting this is one of the band's favorite songs - definitely do not remember this song! though I graduated HS in 2001, so this was my era for sure.

HOT ONES brought me back 20 years later still 🔥
Chris' falsetto and Lance's Bass are the most special and interesting in NSYNC's melody.
Yup hot ones 🥵😂but I also came back after the VMAS 🤷🏻♀️
I'm here after the Hot Ones interview
I harmonize with this song so hard
Always loved this song, but listening to it at almost 40 with a glass of wine hits different 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

2022 this still hits. I used to listen to this song on repeat.

This is such an underrated song. One of my all time favorite from the four albums that they have.
joey straight up sounds like a disney prince
Isn't that Chris?
No if u talkin bout the third verse it's Joey, Chris is after that
That falsetto is everything. Lord
Everyone coming here immediately after the Hot Ones episode. 😂
Hands down the best acapella song ever made, and probably the most intricate, the lyrics are also genius! I get chills every time listening to this song...
The fact that most of the spots in the song are listed as "most replayed" when you scroll along the progress bar is a testament to how good this one is. It takes me back to the early 2000s every time I listen to it!
Listening to this after watching hot ones. The guys rank this as 1 of top 5 fave
I never ever heard this song.
But it is a beautiful song.
It remind me of times when my crush never knew when I thought she knew .
hot ones gang gang gang
Hot ones
I came back here to listen over and over again after hot ones ❤❤❤
Joey still kills it! This song hits hard all these years later... 90’s boybands were just the best!
Can we just be honest even though they all sound great on this song, Joey, Chris and Lance ate. Left no crumbs. I have to especially give Joey props his part is my favorite. Also i love when JC and Chris harmonize together.
Their vocals and harmonies 😭😭😭😭
All the people that came here after Hot Ones. Reveal yourself with a Like 👍
It's a romantic song that'll I'll always love .. they were good .. damn
Here after watching Hot Ones 🔥

Incredible harmony
They were amazing at harmonizing, i wish we able to witness it more in acapellas
The bass voice.
Guys, the bass voice!!
I got to see them in concert and it was hands down the best concert of my life. I've never seen so much talent fr love them forever
Joey killed it
My favorite part used to be when JC came in, but now im like...holy shit Chris is amazing
Here because they said this was their personal fave on Hot Ones.
It was the first song they ever sang together
Here to re-listen after Hot Ones
& they still got it after 20 years 💕 here’s to something new before we hit 20 more: Thank you for the memories & for being an unforgettable band of talented men 🥰🥰🥰 & just so ya know we too would “sell our soul to have this silence broken” #reunite 😉😘
I would literally travel anywhere and spend any amount of money to see them reunited for an actual concert.
What a song. Those voices are magical.
Hot Ones didn’t bring me here, their live HBO special from MSG did
you came here after watching the hot ones didnt you?
yes
((I wonder if this is confirmed?))
"I Thought She Knew" is a moving a cappella ballad, written by the late Robin Wiley, *NSYNC's long-time vocal coach and arranger. It was written when the group first formed (1995-1996), so they could learn to sing together (and demonstrate how well they did so). They performed it in several showcases while searching for a record deal, and it appeared on their demo.
It eventually appeared on *NSYNC's historic No Strings Attached album in 2000, where Wiley also produced the track. I say "historic," because No Strings Attached sold 2.4 million copies in its first week, and eventually reached over 11 million (certified diamond).
Anyone listening to this stunner in 2023?
JTs voice just sounds amazing 👌
Hot Ones brought me here. I faintly remember this song. Must be because there’s no MV for this?
Anyways, I like the vibe. NSYNC songs still resonate with me after all this years.
Came here from Hot Ones after they put this song #1
Still my favorite NSYNC song ever..
I had this on repeat back in the day. Love this acapella.
Thank you to nsync and hot ones for reminding me of this amazing track
whos here after the Hot Ones? Had to listen to this again
Who was here before hot ones🖐🏾
here after Lance ranks this song as the first in @hotones
This is the best vocal group song ever recorded (even though I think Boyz II Men would blow it out of water)
Here because this is on their Mount Rushmore of NSYNC songs
This is a beautiful song, and their voice are well blended on this Joey did a great job singing the second part, One of my favorites off this album.
This song will always be Legend... Bring back the old memories...
The talent in this group is unmatched!!
Who's here after watching Hot Ones?
They could re-upload this video over and over and id still click everytime
🔥🔥🔥
LOL totally me too 😂😂
I work tech support for a credit union. When this is on like level 2 volume in my office I get comments all the time from people who recognize it over the phone.
Anyone else come here after the Hot Ones episode when they said this was a “personal favorite”?
This has been in my top 5 since forever!! I love that the group considers it in their top 5 too. This should have been their ballad release over This I promise you (even though I love that song too)
random urge to listen to this song
I can listen to this on repeat.
Hot Ones made me do it
Whenever I listen to this album I inevitably play this song two or three times in a row and then don't know what to do with myself because how can you listen to anything else after this?? lol
Only here because of Hot Ones
Here after watching "Hot ones"
*NSYNC is back!!!!
After twenty years brings tears to my eyes.
This made me soooo happy!!
