Man a 1200$ oilpan to fix your ski while voiding warranty seems like rough pill to swallow for your adverge consumers
It’s $1,600.
Gotta pay to play. There's no crying in this sport!
With race cars people run into this oil pressure issue often with stock unbaffled oils pans. Many times, over filling the pan with an extra 1/2 - 1 quart of oil helps. I think most people run SVHOs between full and half on the dipstick when cold (including myself) I am now wondering if filling it to the full mark, or even a 1/4 quart past would help this issue without causing issues with too much oil.
Any thoughts? Speaking from the standpoint of a weekend rider, not a racer, who just wants his ski to last... Seems like this could be a good thing to test for Greg who can log oil pressure.
I would also love to know this.
Not including installation cost.
Better know how to work on your own chit
Hopefully upgraded for the forthcoming 1.9L supercharged engine
The oil pan is actually less capacity on the 1.9. So the problem will be more pronounced.
New to the PWC world. Can somebody please explain to me why they keep calling it a supercharger that is definitely a turbo or a turbine
Because you don’t know what a turbo is.
Turbo runs off exhaust gases. This is a supercharger
There is more than one style of supercharger. Lol. That is a supercharger I promise.
@@cts-vme3353 Not all people realize the difference between the two. I have worked on both high pressure air systems and vacuum systems in industrial maintenance and even people with years on the job sometimes don't understand the differences between them. Most cars and trucks use turbos and not superchargers so they may just assume that they are both the same only being on a boat it is called a different name. Not all fans are made to operate the same way. It's a lot like the difference in a propeller and a jet on a boat. The end result is close to the same but the method of thrust production is somewhat different.
@@watercraftjournal A lot of people don't know the difference between the two. Not everyone has the same skill set as someone familiar with the industry. Maybe saying a turbo uses the exhaust and a supercharger uses the crankshaft for their respective power would have been more informative to the person asking the question. Forty years ago I didn't know the difference in them. And looking at some of the designs and time to fail rates a hell of a lot of engineers don't know the difference either.
