It made me so happy that there's a word for 'opening and closing' just like how weekend is "saturdaysunday' its random times like this that I fall in love with the language all over again.
Αγαπώ την Ελλάδα και την ελληνική γλώσσα. Μαθαίνω ελληνικά, αλλά πηγαίνει πολύ αργά ;-) Ευχαριστώ για τα βίντεό σας. Είστε μεγάλη βοήθεια. Μβερντ από τη Γερμανία
This was awesome! Thank you. I've watched many of your videos. I've added many of your videos to my RUclips file called "Greek Language Lessons". I have many videos from various sources, but the reason I like YOURS the best is because they are all in GREEK (except for when individuals are speaking in English for a moment). Also I love that most the videos are about everyday life! These are wonderful.
Ok! Now I know where did we get the words for window shutters and cupboards from 😅 we use abajor and doulab in Arabic! It’s interesting for me to know the similarities between Greek and Arabic. Thanks for your uploads I’m not learning Greek but always look to know more about their culture and way of living , your videos are good sources for me ^_^

Its a bit confusing,,,ο άνττας - δύο άντρες / ο καναπές , δύο ? What is the plutal for " ο καναπές" ? Ευχαριστώ πολύ !
4:45 I was wondering what opening and closing the shutters means. Ανεβάζω και κατεβάζω παντζούρι? A native speaker told me that would be wrong because it would imply installing and then removing the shutters completely. She suggested σηκώνω τα ρολά, κατεβάζω τα ρολά instead. What's right?
Both "ανεβάζω το πατζούρι" and "σηκώνω το πατζούρι" make sense. And as you said you can substitute πατζούρι with ρολά. Nobody would think you mean installing or taking out the shutters. I would use the words βάζω/βγάζω to mean that.
παντζούρι and ρολά are two different type of window covers, so ανεβάζω το παντζούρι doesn't mean open the shutter because of technical reasons. You can say ανοίγω-κλεινω το παντζούρι.
I like your videos. But I would say that this is for an advanced student who has been learning for a few years. There were many many words and you were talking quite fast.
I can't agree that these are for advanced. I'm a beginner and I've been learning Greek overall for 2 months, but I find these videos very useful. It's not that I understand 100% but I can figure out the big part when put the video on pause and read Greek subtitles. These videos are great practice. People in real life don't speak slowly like in study books.
Aah, our old flat...

Wow! I am from South India and I have the same plants in my balcony! 😀
Not to be the grammar police. But, the title should read. A typical small Greek flat.

we took those words from you, those are arabic words
@@demetriusp.5020 I think it comes from French, abat jour, meaning lampshade.
What does abajor mean exactly? it's a nice word
@@vgerng4508 abat jour = the slaughter of light
Mister Trousers bro French also took from Arabic for example the word for dirt= Terre. Word for dirt in Arabic: Terrab

Ναι, λέγεται τέντα (-τέντες στον πληθυντικό). / Yes, it is called "tenda".
Θα θέλατε να πείτε πόσο κοστίζει ένα μικρό διαμέρισμα σαν αυτό κάθε μήνα;
Αυτό το διαμέρισμα κόστιζε 250€ πριν 2 χρόνια, αλλά ήμασταν τυχεροί! Τώρα νομίζω ότι ένα τέτοιο διαμέρισμα θα έκανε 300-350, τουλάχιστον στο Κουκάκι.

Can you say διαμεριζμα for flat or apartment? I learnt it on Rosetta.
Yes you can!
What's the difference between a flat and an apartment? In Greece we have just one word for both.
Minor correction: actually it's διαμέρισμα (with a σιγμα).
@@eleniasimop I believe that apartment is American and flat is British for διαμέρισμα

Is he from Greece?
My dad's from Australia, but I was born and grew up in Greece. So the answer is yes, for the most part.
