One of the most unusual and rare things in Television shows like this is Everybody Loves Raymond got better each year and kept getting better. The additions of characters later really helped add more comedic zip to the show. Everything added just worked.

The show is prefaced on Ray being a persistent liar, his wife being a spiteful domestic abuser prone to violent outbursts who neglects their kids and neither has a job nor maintains a home, and the ongoing trauma of an adult emotionally neglected through jus whole life by his parents. Yeah "better and better."
That’s true. The frog lady episode is one of my favorites. It is hilarious.
And one that actually kept up with the story and didn't contradict itself, they also used all the antidotes they mention throughout the show
The casting was absolutely genius. Rays low key and effortless, natural personality made this a classic among classics.
One of the best written comedy shows ever!

I am 65 still watching the reruns....nothing matches this more....it hits home....just wish they were on longer.💫

Growing up on Long Island, when I did in the 70's and early 80's, I always tell people that Everybody Loves Raymond's Frank and Maria's relationship is the closest representation to my own parents, but without a laugh track. Whenever I miss home I'd watch this show over the years. I can relate to so many of the sketches, having heard the same arguments, it's unreal. But the Sucrets bit, when Maria locks them in a draw, always has me rolling on the floor laughing. I can remember my own mother saying Sucrets were a gateway drug when I was young, and that's why they were kept on the top shelf of the cabinet. Thank you, to all the writers on this show.
My Mom always had Sucrets and I hated them with a passion lol

I have watched this since the early 90’s. My teen moody daughter was uncharacteristically laughing and I asked her what she was laughing at and she said this show, “Everybody loves Raymond”, I really like it, it’s so real, this family is not perfect. And it’s really funny it’s just makes me relax and laugh.” I would switch on and watch it with her I was hooked and I’m still hooked. It’s just one of those things you like to watch before you go to bed.
"SHE ATE A FLYYYYYYYYYYYYY!" ... "Don't let a suitcase with cheese be your big fork and spoon hanging on the wall for 40 years." ... "OK, let's do stuff together. What do you want to do?"

the best part is he said this on a podcast that at the time he got raymond, he was working at a bank and doing stand up on the side, and he didn't even get famous til he was in his 30s i am sure it happens alot but it's always crazy when i hear stories like that

I do watch it, over and over. Don't get tired of it. Now, the networks here, have taken it off the times I watch it, in the morning and "on demand". I've watched it, this way for probably 10 years. I can't figure out how to get in touch with the people, I need to. If anyone can help, give me some ideas. Please do. I would really appreciate it. 😊
@@nancykane1178 do you have Peacock? it's a pretty new streaming station. One my favorite episodes is when Robert dates a woman who eats flies. And the janitor episode.
The only show that even after seeing an episode 10x, still manage to make me laugh.

Yes, whenever we want to watch tv in the evening and there is nothing interesting on (sadly most of the time) Raymond reruns are there. We have seen all episodes many times, but still enjoy the Barrones.

I have all 9 seasons on DVDs.My husband and I watched over and over until he died.My husband was a police officer like Robert.
I'm still watching the show on Peacock! One of my favorite comfort shows to watch.
So cool seeing how each piece came together from these different people
*The show wouldn't have had 'Legs' without 'Robert'*
(the interplay between the brothers were always the 'best bits'...the dynamic between the two of them was the same as "Abbott & Costello" doing a live stage-show where one is always trying to 'one-up' the other)

ELR has gotten better, and more funnier with age since the show ended in 2005. It's just too bad that they don't make good comedy shows like this on TV anymore.

Sitcoms like Friends, Seinfeld, Big Bang Theory and How I Met Your Mother will fade with memory as their themes were almost era-specific or age-specific. But Everybody Loves Raymond will mature and age like fine wine because it is based on relationships and family. It belongs to the ages.
nearly 30 years after folk in England are enjoying this show alongside Third Rock From The Sun & Frasier every morning on C4

Everybody Loves Raymond is my comfort show. I watch it almost every day and I still laugh even though I know every episode by heart.
I have all Season's On Dvd and Everybody Love's Raymond is Funny with a lot of heart.
Love that I saw this right before ending season 1!

I did not realize that Philip Rozenthal (the creator) had his wife play Amy....Roberts gf/wife. Also didnt realize Ray Romano actually had a girl and younger twin boys in real life. I am binge watching the series on Amazon Prime Video right now for the first time...on season 3 and I love it!

My favorite sitcoms are Everybody Loves Raymond, The Nanny, Golden Girls, Two And A Half Men, Friends, Seventh Heaven, and so on, but not necessarily in that order. I love them all equally.

Didn’t know Amy was married to Phil the producer in life
I'm seeing so many comments about watching this at night but it's best in the morning.in the UK its been on every morning for at least 10years probably still is,I watched it every morning for at least 6years every morning that wAs the start of my day with sometimes king of queens ,Frasier ,Will and Grace,and third rock all had a spot between them but always everybody loves Raymond and Frasier,guaranteed.I've seen every one multiple times I could do a QandA on just a clip it was like my morning coffee

The guy that said 10 years was BANG on the money... Like wow it was said the were going to get a 10th season too but wasn't done because he wanted to end the show on a high note, genius i say genius. He didn't want the show to drag on and get un funny that was a brilliant choice because yeah that does happen just for the money n stuff but yeah. Then there is the sadness of Peter Boyle and I can never remember the actor for rays mom name I used to remember it perfectly too. They both passed away Peter after a week when they filmed the last episode of s9 made me very sad he had health complications too. The recent (sorta) is one of the twins passing away by taking his life too that was heartbreaking to hear as well.. but I do say the guy was right but also kinda wrong because it still has reruns even till now. Kinda and I really would wish they would hd the whole series to like 4k or something and put it on actual TV channels again too. People need to see this work of art for many years to come, 10 years more like years and years. Shows amazing, I still like Roberts proposal to Amy I loved it.

Does anyone know the house they show exterior where it is and how much it would cost. America has some of the best houses. I live in a Victorian terrace House in England where you literally step from the front door onto a a public footpath. No garage.
Probably my favorite sitcom… I have 100 more or less dvr of this series… but the first season is unwatchable…
