In too hot and as he tried to catch his line (the shallower one) he dipped towards it and exceeded the lean angle (for the conditions) losing the front tire Low siding at this point saved his life.
He let off the throttle causing the front to dip at tht angle and speed upsetting the suspension. Survival reaction realising he carried to much speed into the turn or evading the pothole or he just wasn't in his comfort zone.

It's eerie when I concentrate like hell to get fast corners right to see there were riders before me who's life came to an end in these very curves. So glad he missed the guardrail!!
honestly we don't have this type of rescue in our country we can't afford to drive this fast and risk so much, once it's a serious accident it's over! Happy that he is ok and able to ride back again.
The question at the end what fo you think cauesd this crash, simple answer...speed, if you like speed, go to a track, keep knocking on the devils door eventually hes going to answer. Heal up and be well.
Definitely shows the front sliding out I guess the tyres were warm. In New Zealand we have signs on corners to show a safe speed in bad conditions. It goes to show riding hard how easy it is for a crash to happen. This is why Isle of man is dangerous at least I think he missed the rail. Luck of the draw where you end up. Hoping for later update on his condition and his bike. Guy Martin had a huge crash in the TT and asked not to cut his leathers. You never really know his injuries normally it good to leave him in the same place until help arrives. Talk to him making sure his breathing is good make sure no concussion. I can imagine the group was cruising a bit more after that
Thank goodness angels 👼 saved him from a worst outcome. On another note , what happened to MotoJims ? Saw that there is a memorial ride coming up. Such a terrific person and incredible rider . Bless his soul !
Two days ago I had a very bad crash in road with my streetfighter ducati 1098 prepared. I lost the rear tyre and immediately after the front tyre before a dangerous curve. I past throw two street signals that can kill me at around 100 kmh and finish in a deep ditch (3.5 meters of dowm level with street) with one meter of dead water and mud, finishing with my body under the bike underwater and only my head out. Only a big hit in my left shoulder (the right damaged in an other crash three month ago and not still recover), in chest, in neck, in left knee. God look me and decided to give me another chance. Now I am in bed for recoveey. Bikes are amazing but deadly. I am now reconsidering my passion. Perhaps only circuits and a Harley for roads. If you love speed, go to the circuits, not public roads. The best is to keep the bike like a collector, and start a family. Hello from Veneto, Italy and good luck for the guy in the video
Glad he's alright. But people really shouldn't use public roads as race courses. They are talking about the guardrail and how he was lucky he didn't hit it. Well that is why you take it to the track. No obstacles to hit. No cars to run into. No poles, trees, boulders or cliffs.
Common sense logic, what you say is true. But that particular road beckons high speed drivers routinely. Sports bikes, sports cars, every weekend good weather allows has people pushing it as fast as they go. It's easy to say you simply shouldn't be speeding, but that neglects they very reason they are there, to push things to the limit for full speed adrenaline. But if you play with fire you (may) get burned, proof cited above. God bless.
Exceed bike lean angle , too low Brake usage in the curve, coming in hot Only open throttle when you see your exit in a straight line Never gas mid curve or brake IMO!!
this is the only right comment. never front brake in a corner, especially on supersports which are designed to reach important angles. anyways you can safely apply some rear brake to fix trajectory, speed or angle, everybody needs to master this skill. be soft and modulate rear braking. have fun, take courses and never exceed.
He's not leaning enough (his body). Dude has no idea how to ride a bike fast. You could take this corner at the same speed with 20 degrees less lean angle with the correct body position. What a shame.
I like to watch these videos as a healthy reminder it’s not just cars or reckless riding that takes us out. Sometimes there’s bs in the road and it’ll buck you off. If you’re unlucky, it’ll happen in a turn like this and could send you into a tree or a guardrail like what almost happened to this guy. If that happens, it’s over. Dead. Ride safe guys and if you take anything from this video (as spontaneous as this accident was, not really the riders fault at all) only ride really spiritedly on extremely familiar roads. That’ll help mitigate the danger. Love to ride, always wanna make it home. Love y’all
When you try to show have fast you are on the street and this is usually what happen sooner or later. He seem like a mature gentleman but still riding like that is not very responsible. He’s a lucky man that day. Keep it at the track
Opinion? = You are not a professional ( Paid to do what you do) so any crash/ wreck is self inflicted. Its not a race track so its a learning situation, hope you learned something. DUH.
Great to see you helping. Nothing against roadracing, but not from the start, needs really hot tires to go that fast. I personal drive at first with normal speed, not only to look for the police, but although to see the condition of the road. Full throttle only at the 2nd pass.
I think it’s body weight. It’s probably harder to not slide out when you’re a 6’+ 230# guy going 100 at 20° knee downs. Being that top heavy just makes it easier for the bike to kick out, especially at 100. There’s a reason why professional riders who perform those maneuvers are 5’3” 115# and Shaq does not.
As a person who was in motorcycle crush there was two great signs 1. he was somehow conscious 2. he could have walk appreciate to helicopter and everything which I didn't have that! since I hadn't suitable suits, my case was so hard that for first minute I was struggling to breath, remain conscious (cause I knew if I pass out in this situation either I will die or end up in a coma) and just try to remove people around me which is a long story to explain!
What caused this crash was 1 - Bad body position, you have to focus on leaning the body and getting the bike away from the ground. He could've most likely completed that turn with proper body position. 2- Body position 3- Body position 4- Obviously going way too fast and confident with no knowledge on how to lean properly.
I think I crashed in a similar way, but on a racetrack. I was right at maximum speed /lean angle for a certain corner, and then just closed the throttle a tiny bit - boom, there went the front tire. I think I can hear the revs drop slightly in Clayton's case too. Could also be a bit of dust on the road of course. But a great relief he's ok!
I think the crash was causes by a combination of being on the gas with a slight input to the steering and the front tire got overloaded, there is only 100% of grip, not 110%.
Pothole didn't get him, he never saw that pothole. He was pushing beyond his skill. Dude wasn't ready to ride that road that hard. Nearly died for it too.
Shit happens fast. A few years ago I had a truck not see me and pull out and panic stop in the middle of the road blocking both lanes. Nowhere to go and a second to react, I veered towards the front of the truck so i didn't hit dude's door and slammed into the wheel well at 60 mph. A week in the ICU, 14 broken bones, multiple emergency surgeries and two brain hemorrhages. Luckily I recovered to pretty much back to normal after a little over a year. I bought another CBR 1000rr after that year of recovery. Sometimes shit just happens. I rode for 15 years pretty much incident-free prior to that.
Wish people would not let a rider move after crash. Helmet should stay on and he should try to stay still until medical arrives. He is still in shock and adrenaline pumping but could have internal damage. Getting up and moving can be fatal. 😢
Thanks @maxwrist and everyone else who was there for me 🙏🙏🫡

I hope he makes a full recovery Maxy. I wonder going into that bend did he touch the front brake? It's hard to tell from the video footage. Safe riding everyone 🙏
In too hot and as he tried to catch his line (the shallower one) he dipped towards it and exceeded the lean angle (for the conditions) losing the front tire Low siding at this point saved his life.
God let this rider live another day, cherish every moment you have! ✝️
He let off the throttle causing the front to dip at tht angle and speed upsetting the suspension. Survival reaction realising he carried to much speed into the turn or evading the pothole or he just wasn't in his comfort zone.
check body position - cheek off but upper body fighting opposite so he pushed the bike down too far.
He's lucky the group saw the dust cloud. I know those mountains quite well. Lost friends to crashing down the side of them. Those roads are not made for those speeds. Glad he's here to share his story. Ride Safe my friend.
Any updates on injuries? That's was hell of a crash damn.. Wish you fast recovery though!
I started riding not too long ago. When I was out and about with the car, I never noticed all those crosses on the roadside. I sure notice them now. It's eerie when I concentrate like hell to get fast corners right to see there were riders before me who's life came to an end in these very curves.
So glad he missed the guardrail!!
"some of the best riders in California" I beg to differ!
That was wild man he came flying into that bend hard on the throttle on max lean. Hope the guys ok?
Why don’t you all go do track days instead and actually race each other safely?
honestly we don't have this type of rescue in our country we can't afford to drive this fast and risk so much, once it's a serious accident it's over! Happy that he is ok and able to ride back again.
Love you all 🙏🏻take care Maxwrist
I can imagine the group was cruising a bit more after that
The cross at the corner says it all
Ah man, not the first one to go there either
Great video work hope he is fine
Hello from Veneto, Italy and good luck for the guy in the video
buon recupero.
and there is a memorial spot right there too. Let that be a lesson. Please ride folks! Have Fun with discipline.
Oh man.... low sided HARD. That just SUCKS. At least he had full gear... that saved his life.
Glad he’s ok 😢
God bless.
Exceed bike lean angle , too low
Brake usage in the curve, coming in hot
Only open throttle when you see your exit in a straight line
Never gas mid curve or brake
IMO!!
this is the only right comment. never front brake in a corner, especially on supersports which are designed to reach important angles. anyways you can safely apply some rear brake to fix trajectory, speed or angle, everybody needs to master this skill. be soft and modulate rear braking. have fun, take courses and never exceed.
Body position - upper body fighting against lower body cheek off. Lower body is hanging off and upper body is saying no.
Totally wrong. Never heard about trail-braking? Stupid advise!@@navhaa
Only when u ride fast
I ride about 50 to 60km/h and break normally in corner when needed
holly crap, i guess he lean too much, this is a tuff passion take care of your dude ,
He's not leaning enough (his body). Dude has no idea how to ride a bike fast. You could take this corner at the same speed with 20 degrees less lean angle with the correct body position. What a shame.
@@22Epic 100% body position - upper body fighting against cheek off so he pushes bike too low
Thank God he's safe now 🙏
I like to watch these videos as a healthy reminder it’s not just cars or reckless riding that takes us out. Love y’all
The road isn’t a race track. What got him was his speed. Simple as that.
That helicopter is badass!!!
Errrm I'd say speeding was the cause of the crash
Genius
This is a real sign to give up with these high speed races like he was in a real circuit cause there s no safety zones in real roadway.
When you try to show have fast you are on the street and this is usually what happen sooner or later. He seem like a mature gentleman but still riding like that is not very responsible. He’s a lucky man that day. Keep it at the track
That dude slid in between that guard rail and a cross where someone aready passed away.. lucky man!
That last clip is heartbreaking
Praying for HEALING
Aaaah, no.
I'm so glad you are ok @clayton_1000rr 💞🐰
Thank you 🙏 🙏 😊
It’s simple to much speed not enough grip.
It’s that simple!
To answer your question... Speed
As a person who was in motorcycle crush
there was two great signs
1. he was somehow conscious
2. he could have walk
appreciate to helicopter and everything
which I didn't have that!
since I hadn't suitable suits, my case was so hard that for first minute I was struggling to breath, remain conscious (cause I knew if I pass out in this situation either I will die or end up in a coma) and just try to remove people around me which is a long story to explain!
What caused this crash was
1 - Bad body position, you have to focus on leaning the body and getting the bike away from the ground. He could've most likely completed that turn with proper body position.
2- Body position
3- Body position
4- Obviously going way too fast and confident with no knowledge on how to lean properly.
He had a little bit of a speed wobble maybe he gripped to hard or not enough weight on the front end.. following another person blind is always tricky
I think the crash was causes by a combination of being on the gas with a slight input to the steering and the front tire got overloaded, there is only 100% of grip, not 110%.
death was in holiday for him in that time stay blessed and strong ❤❤
Clayton man 😮 fuk the bike , your ok man . Recover and go again . All the best 🇬🇧
thank you 🙏🫡
That’s why you ride that fast on a race track, not a public road. You guys have great tracks in Cali, use them.
Problem is we have great roads too lol
Pothole didn't get him, he never saw that pothole. He was pushing beyond his skill. Dude wasn't ready to ride that road that hard. Nearly died for it too.
That bike became part of nature in .035 seconds 😳
Answer: too little weight distribution to the front + cold tires MAYBE.
Simply very wrong body position. Dude should take a course on how to ride a bike.
I think cold tires is a factor....depends what kind of rubber he had in the bike as well....new....old...
I rode for 15 years pretty much incident-free prior to that.
how many times you gonna reupload this as a short?
Coming in too hot lost the front slip sliding away👍👍
Lucky this didn't end with a funeral!
After my son was born i stopped riding I have to be there for him...
Wish people would not let a rider move after crash. Helmet should stay on and he should try to stay still until medical arrives. He is still in shock and adrenaline pumping but could have internal damage. Getting up and moving can be fatal. 😢
Glad he’s OK. Hoping he books plenty of professional track instruction next.
He literally fucking walks up and away from a 100mph slide right into the rocks how mFing lucky you are MY DUDE. YOU HAVE NO IDEA AT ALL
big fan from india
vell vell vell
i think because the hole, (got jump scare) 100speed and little mistake move can slide😅
What caused this crash. Excessive speed, no recce, fast group ride, maybe poor maintenance of tires, poor risk management, just to name a few.
