So many child stars spiral out of control in adulthood. Now it makes sense why Solange and Beyonce didn't. They had a great mom who was aware of the pitfalls of fame and how to avoid them
Exactly Loni sometimes just always trying to be funny.. And I feel like Tamera could have explained to Loni what going to therapy could do because her and Tia went to a therapist on their show because they weren’t getting along and they did helpful activities to help get a better understanding of each other
serrita watkins right! I think tamera should have talked about their relationship as sisters instead b/c those relationships can be complex. Saying that your mama helped the both of you deal with fame wasn't /exactly/ the point.
If she liked it then I ABSOLUTELY love it !! In my opinion , it gives your child/children a place to be open & express their feelings in a healthy and respectful manner to each other ! And Bey & Solange both have an amazing relationship due to that... that’s the first time I’ve ever heard a parent doing that ! I might have to save this for a few years down the line haha
I think kids should see a therapist in general! Especially, kids who are being bullied in school, or kids who are abused, or kids who are different from the other kids! Kids already have to deal with a lot from parents!
I believe the first step in dealing with issues is that the parents take the time to talk to their children FIRST..Its the parents that have the BIGGEST impact on their children's lives, confidence, and attitude about themselves and the world around them. Ask them how is their day going, what did they do today and how was it like? Once it gets to major family issues, then seeking counseling and or therapy would be a good avenue to take.
Miyu Yamazato I completely agree with you,I was bullied throughout elementary school and I hated going to school and I even began to wonder if something was wrong with me .It would have been beneficial if I had someone to talk to,my two best friends are great at giving advice and for being there for me .
However unfortunately a lot of people don’t have the money for therapy and a lot of children feel depressed and very alone because the adults around them just tell them that happiness is a choice and that their depression is “ in their head “.
I think Tamera was saying that her mom would straighten them out so she didn’t need a therapist to fix their attitudes with each other. In the full interview Ms.Tina explained that she wanted Beyoncé to be more sensitive.
If Tia had gotten a hit tv show, and then Tamera wasn't on it, I think that Tamera would need therapy. It would be hard to be compared to your sister in the spotlight when you're not.
I think that therapy for siblings is such a smart idea, especially in special situations. I was born with a bunch of medical problems and my most of my parents time was taken up on me. I wish my sister could have gotten therapy as a child, so that she didn’t grow up feeling neglected 😢
Taking siblings to therapy can help them understand their ways I’d communicating with each other. It is also great with learning how to deal with conflict in a healthier manner. Siblings can grow apart if they don’t learn each other, so props to her for helping them have a solid foundation!
Adrienne seems to be the only one who grasps the concept. I'm not sure the other examples were a form of therapy, but rather various forms of disciplining your child. However, while I understand where Jeannie is coming from, I hate it when parents compare siblings. I personally didn't like being compared to my siblings, even when it was in my favor.
dude, everything Adriene just said made me wanna cry. She's going to make a great mum loving her kids as individuals and bringing out their potentials man.
Sometimes the therapist doesn't really need to say much. It's about letting the kids or adults express themselves. Sometimes you don't even know how you're truly feeling until you start expressing yourself out loud. You can even burst out crying when explaining something that you thought was insignificant.
I think black children could benefit from therapy. Simply because the trauma of slavery has impacted the way children are raised and disciplined. My father beat the humility into us so much that it took me years to say I’m good at this and that, and wether you notice me or not I’m f-in amazing!. We have to be careful to not tame the light of kids especially little girls because then they grow up to be 30 year old women who still don’t know their value.
Perpetual Chilaka The negative comments are well grounded though. Tamera has been giving irrelevant opinions/answers to a lot of the topics lately and its kinda getting annoying. Doesn't mean we don't still love her though but if you are off we will let you know lol
Do you tell us to let her live when we are giving positive comments about tamera that are merited? 😒😒😒 she can as well get negative comments that are merited. She needs to learn to stay on topic. Nobody's hating on her.😒😒
The most message we got from this was our MOM is our HERO. She is our everything even today. If we lost her, we are missing a precious JEWELS in a pool of mud. And if you are a mother today, you are concentrating on a well being of your child to be bought up to what you expected in them on their future. Little do you realised that he/she is feeling that bond what what we aught to taught will never get lost in their way. So therapist sure do work and none ever beats when you got it from MUM. Hats of to all MOTHERS
I'm here for what tina knowles did. As the youngest, 5 years younger then my sister as well, I couldn't imagine being in salonges place because beyonce is so huge, I really think that therapy for them was a good choice, but it's not for everyone. As for me it's hard being valued less then my sister who doesn't even realize the impact thats on me. the fact that beyonce understands her situation and they are both protective of each other IS AMAZING. oftentimes sisters so apart in age become estranged.
I don't understand why people are so confused about what Tamera said and why its irrevalent. What's so irrelevant about it? It was on topic. She simply stated that her mom was their therapist
Tamera, listen to Jeannie. That is how to tell a story about yourself and your family and still stay on topic, Jeannie's story was amazing. And the way her mother raised them was amazing.
I think it's a good thing. A lot of siblings have jealousy towards each other. Sometimes it's because a mom or dad might have a favorite child and that makes the other sibling feel insecure like (Why don't my mom or dad like me as much as this other sibling?) And I think it's wrong for parent(s) to have favorites towards their kids. And another reason why it's good is because they can know that they are both different than one another and know that they don't have to compete with one another.
Honestly Tamera, maybe therapy would've still helped you. Cuz honestly sometimes moms don't know everything that's going on, or are unable to best deal with it. Because you bravely spoke about struggling with feeling like the goofy twin, and inferior to Tia because of people's nasty comments as well as the gripping fear of failure you struggle with because your mom pressured you so much. Having a therapist doesn't mean that your mom isn't a good mom. Tia also couldve used therapy to be more sensitive to Tam's feelings.
It’s not a bad idea. They get to talk to someone who’s objective and impartial. It’s a good thing Ms. Tina had the forethought to do it while they were kids. Didn’t Kelly, their “third sister”, admit to feelings of jealousy of Beyoncé? Not in a bad way though. She was always happy for Bey, but I imagine it would be hard for anyone to be compared to her success all the time. Therapy sessions probably would’ve done good there too. And with Michelle too! Poor thing, gets all the shade. 😭 I mean I’ll be honest, she isn’t the strongest, but she did good at Beychella with the choreo. She’s getting it.
Silver H Yes but there was also a video out about the story of Hey and Kelly. Kelly was suppose to be the star and they made her fall back. It was an interesting story.
Don’t think this discussion went anywhere.... Ms Tina explained she wanted to break the cycle with her family and was encouraging African American families to ignore the ‘taboo’ of seeking out professional help.
I’m really surprised Tamera said she didn’t need therapy and didn’t explain to Loni how a therapist helped her and Tia when their had their issues on their show. They both went crying and learned how to understand each other... Sometimes it’s annoying when they do stuff like this and Loni just tries to be funny all the time
This is so true.... Solange being fiercely protective over Beyoncé... just watch the elevator incident... not sure Beyoncé ever reciprocated this though...
DePiagetfan But the question was, Is therapy a good way to help siblings get along.... Tamera’s story had nothing to do with siblings getting along...??
I love Tamera so much. However, she can be detached at times. She is low key narcissistic that is why she brought her mother up. Don’t get me wrong, I am low key narcissistic too but I acknowledge it and seek to improve it.
Jeanie is usually SO on point, but I can't back her on this.. .Some kids, if not most, do better TALKING to someone who actually listens, not just a parent who says, "You do what I say!"
mariyaa111 Did i miss something? I think she was just sharing her experience within her culture/family. She said she supports therapy tho but was telling her story from a Vietnamese POV from a family that didn’t grow up with money.
It’s the end of the semester, my Roomate and suite-mates already moved. So I don’t feel lonely I’ve been watching all The Reals RUclips videos lol I feel like y’all are chilling with me in my dorm. LOL
My 10 year old and 7 year old watches this with me (depending on the topic) and they watch just to choose who outfit they want and today they chose Adrienne. ❤
My mom allowed me to name my own sister when I was four. When I grew up I asked her why and she said so that you would love her more and wouldnt feel jealous.
There was an episode on Tia and Tamera reality show where they went to therapy because of miscommunication with each other. I wish Tamera would have came from that standpoint not the I have a black mama and she would’ve knocked me into next week so we acted right
Therapy for children would have saved a lot of lives and livelihoods. Many of us adults are still suffering from unresolved childhood traumas. Due to violence and hate-filled society we live in, everyone needs therapy.
No therapy necessary. What is this foolishness? Lol! Excellent parenting. Faith. Celebration of your children. Daily affirmation of beauty (inner and outer), brilliance, and limitlessness! There is no quick fix! A child’s healthy esteem of him or herself starts with the two people who brought them here! Mom and Pops! Not some random therapist. There was no sibling rivalry in my house growing up because my Mom just wasn’t HAVING it! In fact, I specifically remember my sister and I having one of the FEW arguments we ever had and my Mom became visibly upset and began crying. She was VERY stern and explained that there was an entire WORLD outside of our door we may have to fight some day. Save that “fight” for THEM, but make SURE to always love and take care of each other!!! My siblings and I are tight like crazy glue and it is because of how we were raised. Now granted, we are all relatively successful, but life happens in seasons. So there were times when one was technically doing better than the other, but the mindset was always-WE WON! If my siblings had something great going on it was a “win” for ALL of us! This idea that I would need therapy because my sister was on the comeup is absolute foolery to me. If she has 10.00-WONDERFUL! That mean I had 5.00! Lol! We share our resources with each other. We build each other up! We don’t know any other way! Long short, when you see siblings that aren’t close or are jealous of each other-point blank-Mom and Dad missed the mark.
What do you say to parents that don't agree with therapy? because in all honesty the same thing that you can get from a therapy you can get from a friend a co-worker relative.Etc any thoughts?
Tamera it was good that you shared that experience. But some people need actual therapy. Obviously Ms. Darlene’s method did not work because you and your sister had the same issue... but as adults.
You better get off that high horse or I’ll slap you down! 🤣 Beyoncé had a similar story, she said she was also a teen and was in a record store being noticed/feeling herself. Her mom was asking her a question and Beyoncé said she kind of ignored her and was humming. She said the next thing she knew her mom popped her with a cd in front of fans. She said it was very humbling
Who knows how solange actually felt when her sister's career really took off, but she decided to be the mature about it. Why fight it right? That doesn't mean you won't still have feelings of inferiority, you work through it and move forward.
Florida Girl lol. Sweetie the only difference would be that she did not take the test but she achieved her degree in psychology.... During the time of accomplishing a degree in that field, you must do case studies. So something as simplistic as their discussion can be very relatable to someone who has a degree. Are you familiar with that field? Also, you don't need a degree to relate to the subject. The subject is simple enough for even someone who has taken a couple of psychology courses due to their major being similar can also relate....its not a deep subject matter. IJS.
Victoria Ashlyn I have given you the details considering that that's my background however I see that you're pretty young so maybe you're just not getting it but I pretty much spelled it out for you however and I see that you pretty much repeating the same thing. So I'm guessing that you're not that familiar with it. However, on that note have a good day.
Well, this really was a great opportunity for Tamera to be transparent about her feelings, if any were negative, about when Tia's career was hotter than hers. And how therapy would have helped her overcome any bad feelings. I mean, she DID study psychology right?😬
ya. Remember solange was kind of getting there, she even lead the Proud Family theme song. I think it was her young pregnancy that stopped her career at that time?
Yeah in Asian and African culture therapy isn’t thing. Mental concerns are not taken seriously. It’s just very straight to the point this is what you have to do so go do it kind of thing
i know miss Tina also slapped Bey when she was 17.Bey says she was singing when her mom was tryna talk to her so she reminded her that she was still her child!
Miss Darlene's 'therapy' didn't work much...cos Tamera & Tia don't really support each other as much as they're supposed too...especially on Tia's end. Their reality show exposed a lot of holes in their relationship as sisters, which is sad since they're twins...maybe they could've done with therapy back then! LOL
Twins tend to struggle with finding their own identity without being a brand such as Tia and Tamera were growing up so I am sure it added to that complicated dynamic we saw on their reality show. I believe their relationship improved when they realized it was okay to be different people.
I agree, Tamera on this show has admitted to feeling like she was Tia's shadow and I don't think Tia (unknowingly) was sensitive to it. At times i feel she's afraid of her mother if anything.
So many child stars spiral out of control in adulthood. Now it makes sense why Solange and Beyonce didn't. They had a great mom who was aware of the pitfalls of fame and how to avoid them
I liked the way jeannie was talking about being separate from her brothers by strengths and not weaknesses
A mother giving guidance helps but a therapist is a neutral professional person.. i think its a good idea
Jannah Shah It depends, I don’t like therapy anymore.
Tbh, Adrienne did a good job explaining the concept to Loni
Angel Okwuosa what a concept right
Exactly Loni sometimes just always trying to be funny.. And I feel like Tamera could have explained to Loni what going to therapy could do because her and Tia went to a therapist on their show because they weren’t getting along and they did helpful activities to help get a better understanding of each other
sherristar89 omg 😂😂💀
serrita watkins right! I think tamera should have talked about their relationship as sisters instead b/c those relationships can be complex. Saying that your mama helped the both of you deal with fame wasn't /exactly/ the point.
@janedoefree13 Right!
Did Jeannie just become my favorite??? She’s been dropping dimes lately & I’m here for it!!!
dropping dimes, reminds me of the Key and Peele skit
I LOVEEEEEEE when Jeannie imitates her mom. I love the wisdom she brings.
If she liked it then I ABSOLUTELY love it !! In my opinion , it gives your child/children a place to be open & express their feelings in a healthy and respectful manner to each other ! I think kids should see a therapist in general! Especially, kids who are being bullied in school, or kids who are abused, or kids who are different from the other kids! Kids already have to deal with a lot from parents!
Miyu Yamazato yes I definitely agree and they say it's way harder for this generation. So much harder and more exposure
Take a shot every time you read the word “kids” in this comment.
I believe the first step in dealing with issues is that the parents take the time to talk to their children FIRST..Its the parents that have the BIGGEST impact on their children's lives, confidence, and attitude about themselves and the world around them. They need me on the show for these topics looool I have so much to say
The Tiny Therapist in Training yes girl, I watch your videos and subscribed!

I absolutely love when Jeanie does the accent!😂❤️❤️
Tamera's mom did a wonderful job, all the kids turned into wonderful adults even in this weird industry. I'd love a parenting book from her some day!
You guys need to let Tamera live 🙄🙄 why so many negative comments
Perpetual Chilaka The negative comments are well grounded though. Tamera has been giving irrelevant opinions/answers to a lot of the topics lately and its kinda getting annoying. Doesn't mean we don't still love her though but if you are off we will let you know lol

Not really feeling tameras hair today
Jomana Begum same
Jomana Begum For real, I feel if anyone who can pull off this hairstyle it would be Tamera, Slaying forever
That's her favourite hairstyle. I love it. Tamera can rock anything though.
Respect everyone’s opinion. 🙏🏾 but personally I’m not feeling it. That’s all.
Ya I think It needs to be a little further back. Off center and up front isnt working
.

I need a Mrs. Darlene in my life. I can learn alot from her.
Tamara and Tia didn't need a therapist because their mom kept them grounded she kept them in check. . It's simple English.
Adrienne is looking good today.
Josie always guurl
Josie well most times* lol
In need that shirt she is wearing 😍
I think it's a good thing. A lot of siblings have jealousy towards each other. The Parents teaching Morals and Values and Life Skills to their Children!
You women are amazing I wish the work environment in every place would be healthy and strong like the one you ladies share
Why upload a small clip, then upload a longer clip of the same thing?
Lol ikr I’ve noticed that there probably tryin to get more views and coins for both videos
Would Jeannie talks in her moms accent, I be dying😂😂
Adrienne looks pretty here😫
Jeanie gave me chills! Loved that comment!
Honestly Tamera, maybe therapy would've still helped you. Cuz honestly sometimes moms don't know everything that's going on, or are unable to best deal with it. I love the real daytime
Don’t think this discussion went anywhere.... Ms Tina explained she wanted to break the cycle with her family and was encouraging African American families to ignore the ‘taboo’ of seeking out professional help.
Oh how I love your show. Plenty of love from Zambia
Adriane shirt !!! Yes girl you better come thru !!! 💕
Therapy should be done in the home. Take it seriously, honor your feels and and communicate.
I really liked this segment. Good conversation.
Agree with Ms. Tamera lol and Ms. Adrienne!!!!! And Ms. Jeannie!!!!!
Solange was a "little bit" in Beyoncé's shadow... Understatement of the decade
Mrs. Tina that was amazing. 😄😄😄
I went to a therapist as a child because I had trouble connecting to my peers, it helped a lot
In context, why did Tamera let us know about Mama Darlene? I don't understand ..
They didn't need a therapist because mama was on top of things-simple.
DePiagetfan exactly she said her mom was their therapist.

Shout out to my university for providing students with counseling services. I love my therapist. Her name is Jordan 🤗
I need a therapist for Loni's blouse. I have Trypophobia!!! 😂😂 it's pretty though Loni! I just have to peep with one eye.
It’s the end of the semester, my Roomate and suite-mates already moved. So I don’t feel lonely I’ve been watching all The Reals RUclips videos lol I feel like y’all are chilling with me in my dorm. LOL
I feel like loni rushes them to talk.
I dropped out of Preschool because I DON'T play!! And I still dont play. So I feel Ms. Doleen 😒
Love you, Jeannie!
My 10 year old and 7 year old watches this with me (depending on the topic) and they watch just to choose who outfit they want and today they chose Adrienne. ❤
They have such a great relationship today
Lonnie, look at you gurrrl. You look amazing!
My mom allowed me to name my own sister when I was four. When I grew up I asked her why and she said so that you would love her more and wouldnt feel jealous.

californiarocks4 she was an adult when her and Tia did therapy. She was talking about when she was a kid.
They all beautiful I love the REAL 💕
Miss darlyn is a wonderful woman. She reminds me of the real African woman like my mom
LMAO Jeanie needed a drink of water bad during girl chat

But Tia and Tamera actually did go to therapy on their tv show because they weren’t getting along
serrita watkins contradicted her ownself
serrita watkins she was talking about herself as a kid not an adult
Tamara is talking about mother's being the therapist. Nothing wrong with that! I think that's good for the kids and the moms relationship.
Loni my 4 year old daughter watches the show just to see you. She is always telling me how nice your hair looks
Tamera it was good that you shared that experience. But some people need actual therapy. Obviously Ms. Darlene’s method did not work because you and your sister had the same issue... but as adults.
Sh*t if my sibling and I was fighting . Our parents would say take it outside . haha

tina is such a great mother , probably if she didn't do that there would have been problems in there relationship...they wouldn't be that close
Tamera goes off subject. I’m the same way sometimes lol.
Love Jeannie's story 😂
Thank Loni, I was waiting for that, elevator joke!
There's cases when it's a good idea like when one of ur kids constantly tries to kill the other
I work with 10 years-old kids and they all should see a therapist
Who knows how solange actually felt when her sister's career really took off, but she decided to be the mature about it. Why fight it right? That doesn't mean you won't still have feelings of inferiority, you work through it and move forward.
I go to my therephy. Cause I lose both of my grandparents. From today it still hard for me.
Lol Tamera you got a degree in psychology. Completely different thing from being and studying to be a therapist.
Florida Girl that's not different. Therapist major is psychology and they branch off further to specialize and get licenced as a therapist.
Karen Hampton exactly. Tamera didn’t specialize or get licensed. She just majored in psychology. Doesn’t mean she’s a psychologist or a therapist.
Is it me or is Adrienne is losing weight..?
Claudiyah - She's on some juice/shake replacement meal plan.
Claudiyah yes. She's on a diet at the moment
Yup she is
Shes giving it to jeannie
Claudiyah she is she looks great
I wish i could see a therapist i desperately need it
adrienne is so beautiful 😍
Well, this really was a great opportunity for Tamera to be transparent about her feelings, if any were negative, about when Tia's career was hotter than hers. And how therapy would have helped her overcome any bad feelings. I mean, she DID study psychology right?😬
What about Bianca? Did she ever get therapy too? No one ever talks about their younger sister :(
I would sent my kids to therapy. Its a nutral space for you to get out your thoughts that you might not want to talk to your parents about.
Can we please get Tamera's mom on the show ???💁🏻
i know miss Tina also slapped Bey when she was 17.Bey says she was singing when her mom was tryna talk to her so she reminded her that she was still her child!
Jeanie looks nice, like weight wise especially
Miss Darlene's 'therapy' didn't work much...cos Tamera & Tia don't really support each other as much as they're supposed too...especially on Tia's end. Their reality show exposed a lot of holes in their relationship as sisters, which is sad since they're twins...maybe they could've done with therapy back then! LOL
Mich says who?
BritBrit Nicole I say! If you watched their reality show, you may see where I'm coming from....
Twins tend to struggle with finding their own identity without being a brand such as Tia and Tamera were growing up so I am sure it added to that complicated dynamic we saw on their reality show. I believe their relationship improved when they realized it was okay to be different people.
Carolyn Simon That's true...you make a good point.
I agree, Tamera on this show has admitted to feeling like she was Tia's shadow and I don't think Tia (unknowingly) was sensitive to it. At times i feel she's afraid of her mother if anything.
Wish my brothers and I had therapists lol
Jeannie Rocks⭐❤!
Tamera's baby hairs 👌🏾
