These people have legal custody of your childhood, and are punishing you for not thinking like them. It gets to a point where you have to let the child die to relinquish their power over you.
@@PuertoRicanRattlesnake you're right and it's sad. They don't focus on creativity anymore. I legitimately could have written this same exact character better if we NEEDED to have them. They actually created the character and yet have made them super lackluster and predictable. I don't understand who we hire to write these things, where the passion went, the creativity, the love for the medium, it's all just gone. It's about pandering, it's about agendas, it's about politics, and not in ways that benefit the world that the characters inhabit. It's cheap, lazy, and causes more harm than good in every co conceivable way.
The most offensive aspect is their lack of effort in creating unique characters that genuinely reflect their ideology. Fans are not bothered by political commentary; they are frustrated by forced political agendas. A character like this sends the message that instead of letting DEI characters succeed on their own merit, they want established cis white male characters to step down from their popularity and hand deliver it to a generation that finds their existence offensive. Their aim is not to uplift a new generation; it is to dismantle the old. They are the ones fixated on the past, and their hatred of it is more of their identity than the politics they signal.
I like Kate Bishop in a general sense. In This Avengers game, though, she has made me cringe multiple times. Terribly written MCU like dialogue has killed her. Makes me scared to watch the show that's actually a part of the MCU lol
@@inesatt1313 The dialogue before and after the story missions where she makes cringey one-liners really annoyed me. In the missions she's cool, good powers, nice connection with clint, just hate her "humor" half the time. They forced it in for me but it's personal opinion lol
@@jamesstrasser637 why could the character not be an original character? What smart reason is there for them not to have their own unique abilities and uniform? If my complaints are dumb, then please, give me the smart reasons for that.
You should've given more specifics about why the storyline eith this character was bad. Right now all i got is that you don't like the non-binary minority wearing the mantel of a character you like. The representation could be done wrong but let me know about how the writing was bad maybe? I think most of these characters should die off or leave the story for new ones, we can agree on that. alot of the current roster have been around for well over 40 or 50 years, i yhink that's more than enough storylines I'm ready for new character 10:08 s altogether
I don't want to spoil anything, but in this story this new character is Hawkeye, due to Clint deciding he doesn't want to be. Like Clint was never Hawkeye in this universe, he was given the equipment, due to some time shenanigans that are pretty convoluted and then rejected that responsibility. So now we have this new Hawkeye, since he heard a message from Tony Stark, and took the responsibility that Clint refused to take. That way of doing things, the way of making Clint not Hawkeye, felt super disrespectful for me. It was a cheap and silly way to shift the character that bears the name in this universe/timeline. Hawkeyes interactions with the other avengers, even if they are not team outings, are also kinda weird due to this new person walking in Clint's shoes Like, he has a lot of moments with Captian America, they are basically partners for some time, and it feels really weird and unnatural since this isn't Hawkeye and yet they don't have a lot of moments building who the character is, beyond their gender identity, and instead just shoves them into the fold as if they belong and always have. Like, Kate Bishop is an example of it able to be done right. She is trained by Hawkeye in most iterations, the mantel isn't just rejected without Clint having it, and instead she inherits it from someone that becomes a huge part and Influence in her life. I'd have to make a video where I can give a spoiler Disclaimer if I wanted to be more specific I believe haha.

Yes, in a reality where The Maker made sure Hawkeye didn't exist, a different person is now Hawkeye. And because non-binary people have always existed, this one just happens to be non-binary. It's not a big deal, it's not Clint Barton
@dariendarkhouse8538 you want to set a precedent of lazy here, then that's all you, doesn't change that they don't care enough about NB representation to put in the effort of making a fully original and unique character. Supporting this would send the message that I want more of this. I don't. It felt disrespectful to the character, and since they could have just made a new character, disrespectful to the audience as well. Superheros are super. They can nave whatever powers we dream them to have, costume we dream them to have, Superhero name that we create... and we get another Hawkeye. Again. Creative bankruptcy and it's because people will eat it up no matter the slop that it is. I just don't feel the same as I have every right to do. Also, This whole notion of "non-binary have always existed" is when your argument falls apart though as it is incapable of being proven and is super manipulative to speak about as if its fact.
@Nerdsfeed Native Americans had a third gender before they were colonized, so non-binary has literally existed for the entirety of current North American history. And complaining about the new Hawkeye being non-binary rings very similar to when everyone was up in arms about the new Spider-Man being Black and Hispanic (Miles Morales). When's the last time they introduced a new character that people were excited about? I'm sure it'd be very easy to introduce a new non-binary superhero with absolutely no brand recognition and have it not struggle the entire time
@dariendarkhouse8538 No, they didn't. They has people that worked outside of stereotypical gender roles vote they didn't associate such with a "third gender." It was a spiritual thing instead.
@Nerdsfeed Learned about it in my college course about Native Americans. They were specifically called Two-Spirits, because they were considered to have both. Yes, it was spiritual, but since gender is related to psychology rather than biology, it was a gender that didn't fit strictly within the binary male and female genders. Because they were considered both, they were non-binary
They actually don't like to be called Two-Spirit. What you learn in college and how they actually believe are two very different things. Tbh, it made me uncomfortable when we met with some, which is totally a me problem lol. That being said, now that I'm a little more mature, I have an appreciation for that part of my trip even if it wasn't what I wanted to do at the time.
