Well done Gary lad, that’ll make a nice easy rip up for the next bloke👍🏻
I had to come back just to see if this video was still here . Im about 1000% sure Gary ain't flat roofing no more . Wally
Haha. Couldn’t agree more. Conpkete cowboy. More callbacks than a telephone salesman.
Loooooooool . Brilliant drips mate !
Could you show all three layers from the first nailed layer to what the second layer and final capping sheet? Thanks
Have you done it yet
?
i met a lot of trades like that. They definitely know what they are doing, because they done it for at least 20 years - wrong way
No bleed from the flashing plus why you putting the flashing on before you even have your area down
Felt dripp???
Upstand and why you doing the upstand before the deck ???
What’s the black paint on the wall
Thanks Gary!
Should it be flashed into the wall?
Thank You :)
Gary, you should always do the outlet first my friend.!!!
Keep a modbit trowel hot and use it to do the edges. Cheers anyways from Canada.
you didn't show the most important thing, which is "How long do you apply heat to the felt for" It's obvious you lay it green side up, and press the adhesive to ensure contact, but overheating causes the felt to disintegrate.
Need felting gloves and to stop tearing be quicker at applying that felt, or will not be fully bonded, sbs tar sets off soon as the flame leaves it
12 years and you don't know the difference between a skirting and drips...oh dear Gary oohh dear.
Did you leave on a horse when you finished
everything falls to the outlet standard stuff.
Its flashings that go up walls , drips go on the gutter edge and rain checks cover angle fillets over the edge , numpty
I think this guy has been shown a different way, I personally wouldn’t do it this way. Also been qualified doesn’t make you an expert.
I reckon a light breeze would pull that flashing up
I always do my flashing before the final capping layer aswell, common sense right...
Yes your correct mate
Right out of the gate he's fucked. The wrapper that surrounds the roll is still stuck to it. Its not meant to be burned in with the product. It's supposed to be removed.
No the torch melts that in Uk , you can’t peel that off like other country’s
YEEEE-HAAAA BUILDERS
hay davey w..your bang on pal. i put 500 squ meters of derbigum on a car showroom in nelson over 40 years ago and its still standing...Torch on muppets...Not a fuckin clue.
and if it creases, just keep banging it down no one will see it...
me, i'd have heated the crease and made it so you couldn't see it...but hey..!!
Never been a felter
talk about leaving yourself open to attack.Been felt roofing 32 years, and this is not the way to do it!..Why show people how to mess around with a highly skilled trade, with a incredibly dangerous in the wrong hands gas gun as it is!
I been doin it less than a year and I can do better than that😂
End of the road guarantee off this lad i bet
they're flashings not drips chippings not stones 12 years?
Sorry mate, those are flashings not drips, drips go around the external edges 😂
It's not a flashing either mate
Blimey.
There are that many experts on here all arguing how it should be done. Think I'll use onduline!
Guerito eso esta mal px q para eso ne sesitas una cuchara y ese pinche palo para q
That's an upstand mate
was machst du
Them drips are up-stands mate, and them stones are slate chippings.
@@THECAT077 agree, and these Muppets normally paint the underlay silver to save on the mineral cap sheet,
Show this to Bauder or Iko they would ptsl,
So many cowboys out there.
At least he had a go, you're supposed to get a bead of bitumen out of the flashing not 'thumb it down'
You use soprema mate?
why does it say felt when it is polyester ! he does not even burn the white tape off .
how is that a drip
What a knob drips 😂and don’t bother sticking it
Sacked in the morning
Wots he talking about drips we call them flashings drips are totally diffrent
Its an upstand
Oh dear who's we? We definitely don't call them flashings mate
@@markwilliams7152 this is boring you can call it witever u like pal
The grey stones on top.. torching it makes it wet 😭😭😭
hes no flat roofer.he says hes going to put felt drips on the edges...on the particular roof they are upstands not drips.welted drips are what goes along the front where the gutter is.the clue is in the name a drip is called a drip because its where water drips into the gutter of said welted drip.
ive layed all the top spec felts incl bauder, derbigum felts all over the north of england/scotland and i wouldnt give this guy 1 out of 10 and im being serious.
david watt and if you put enough heat on your felt you get a bead of bitumin along the seam so you know its stuck.only good thing i see is the quality of felt(icopal, techno torch with grooves) pity he dont know how to lay the bloody stuff eh.
@@THECAT077 I’m looking to apply a 3 layer felt, could you offer any advice & suggestions?
OMG this man know nothing about flat roofing.
If you wish to be a cowboy, then.this man is a COWBOY
no its not a felt drip its a skirting and do the wrinkles come as standard still i suppose not bad for a learner
felt drip realy haha 2 by 1 and a paint scraper wtf cowboy roofer
No bleed ? No roller
Fai play he will get there in the end
ive been felting for 30 yrs mate and looking at u torching you aint got a clue, u wouldnt last a week at our firm, leave it 2 the felters who know how 2 lay felt
Gary the pirate
He didn't chase the wall out that roof will leak.
Obviously
Why do these people make videos about thing's they simply don't have a clue about, its a Mockery to proper tradesmen.
Nice and pretty!?!?! You must be on a wind up!
Love how qualified roofers are typing in "how to torch on felt" and then tell everyone how wrong the techniques are. Who are the losers? In fact, i see this with all the trades on youtube, someone always knows a better way.
i know what you mean about you tube comments but seriously mate the guy really is doing it wrong, very wrong.he is calling the upstand a drip.he is not putting enough heat on his felt either.hes no felt roofer.a drip is called a drip because it goes above the gutter and its where the water drips of the roof into the gutter hence it being called a drip.the flashing he is trying to lay/fix is called an upstand and again the clue is in the name.
The only drip here is the guy pretending to be a roofer🤣
what a waste of good felt, its a flashing not a drip and you are to get a nice bleed of bitumen out of every joint, all you have done is heat it up and pat it down WRONG WRONG WRONG STICK TO CHANGING A FEW BROKEN TILES .
darren harlow not to mention the fact that the outlet and rest of the flat isn’t done but he’s putting up stands on
@@maxduke8984 hes not showing how to felt an entire roof you moron, only the drip/flashing whatever you insist on calling it! Youre so clever put a vid up.
No arris rail felt upstands at 90 degrees no no
WORST FELTER EVER STICK TO DOG BOXES
Thats a flashing and its not the wAy you install it ! Never heard of a roller !!!!
That is a felt upstand not a drip you drip 🙈
glad garys not doing my roof
So many things wrong with this Gary really bad my mum could do better
Watching that reminds me I need a shit
Your starting backwards mate
And it's a flashing lol
its not a drip its a flashing
I have no clue why you guys keep calling it felt. It's not. Felt is tar paper uses for BUR types of roofing and in shingling. Torch on is an SBS product which stands for styrene butadiene or bitumen styrene the main component is a fiberglass mat that the sbs is applied over. There's no 'felt' anywhere in this product.
Shit that is bad. Are you going to fit another 4mm capping felt drip .lol, over the rolled cap sheet. Sould be venting layer, underlay, drips, cap sheet and last of all flashings ya muppet.
Your no felter m8
lol true right he aint and any time served felt roofer had him sussed in seconds.
That is not a drip, it’s a wall flashing
ummmm , at least its decent felt ,shame the roofer lets it down ! anyone that watches this ,its certainly not the right way to felt, not even as an example !
and pretty?
wheres ya beed and thats an upstand not a drip you mug, and im only an apprentice
It would be nice if we saw what he was doing rather than his face all the time!
very bad
its seriously wrong!!!
flashing not drip, also you did,nt cut corner on lap..invest in a seam roller as well instead of your thumb ,,load of rubbish mate
Another bogger
This guy doesn't know what he's doing
