What a nostalgic trip, I remember reading about Rana rulers when I was in class/ grade 8 in Social studies. If my memory serves me correctly, Jung Bahadur Rana also established parental right to unmarried women of 35 years and above; he also established strict rules against gambling, and introduced english education . Also built Durbar high school in 1853 (restricted to educating the high class families). Rannoddip, in addition to establishing Sanskrit school, also provided scholarship to poor . He also established the court of justice. Those charges guilty of bribery and corruption were strictly punished. Bir Sumsher- a fun fact- he sent his son Gehendra Sumsher along with 4 others to Japan to study engineering. Dev Sumsher who ruled for only 114 days was the one that opened Dubar School for all . Gorkhapatra was then weekly (not daily). Chandra Sumsher established Tri Chandra college, Pharping Hydroelctricity, Railway (Amlekhgunj to Raxaul) Juddha Shumsher- a fun fact (yet again) - is called the Father of Industry. He banned child marriage. Padma Shumsher: I will give dates and locations ; First written constitution in 2004 B.S., Padma Kanya College is in Dillibazar, Sugar Mill in Morang and also advised people to stop smoking (see Doll and Hill 1964 report that correlated smoking to lung cancer and heart disease for more details). Mohan Shumsher was the one to make attempt for inclusion of Nepal in UNO. I hope this is helpful for all the students who are struggling with this. Ja sir, thank you for such an amazing video. It feels truely inspiring and thrilling to relearn these facts after such along time. Its wonderful to be your student yet again.
Amit, you have been always an explorer rather just a bookish student. Thank you for putting these information that were not included. Let's hope this helps future generation.
Sam Dolton, I am not sure what sorts of information you are seeking regarding your level (Bachelors, Masters; academic field) but some information can be found in general through "RISE AND GROWTH OF ANTI-RANA MOVEMENT IN NEPAL" in Proceedings of the Indian History Congress , relevant
