Tester is likely small screw driver so I use it if you have small screw driver you can use it

Will this repair method work if the wire was burned?

If the tip of the wire burnt you can cut that burnt part and replace the plug as shown in the video.
But sometimes it won't work you need to change the entire wire it depends upon the damaged wire.

How to identify what is + and what is minus-

@@BhanuPrakash-et5fi If you are having doubt just open the bottom of the Table fan 2 screws are there loosen the screws and look at the wire which is connected to the switch and remember the colour of that wire that is (+) phase wire.
And the other one is (-) neutral wire
Mark the plug pin which is phase so you can identify it easily and always remember right side of the plug point is phase (+) make sure it is connected correctly or not
Be cautious of electricity !!!
