LEGO Star Wars T-6 JEDI SHUTTLE COMPARISON! (7931 vs 75362 | 2011 vs 2023)

- I never thought I'd see a remake of the LEGO Star Wars 7931 Jedi T-6 Shuttle but with the Ahsoka show LEGO Star Wars has created the 75362 Ahsoka Tano's T-6 Jedi Shuttle and while it's smaller, it's got a better design, easier to use play functions, and a shockingly good Minifigure line-up.

The cockpit undoubtedly took the biggest hit in the downsizing of the new set. Feels a little sad to only squeeze one fig in compared to almost 3 on the old one
Hello there again I really do see you everywhere
Definitely, especially considering this is a shuttle
But the size looks more accurate I'm the small version
@@TiagoDdAit's not. This is a fairly large ship. About five times larger than an X-wing in universe.
The Bad Batch “shuttle” was super small but still managed to fit 4 figures plus gear and was $80… being blinded by the figures in this Ahsoka set, its not a great set…
What I hate about Lego is so many ships that have interiors are downsized to single pilot interiors 😢
@@IntergalacticDustBunnywhy would the collector still support things like that to happen? Collectors are the worst. It's making all our set smallers. Thanks to collectors dumbness by feeding them so they can keep doing shitty products.
@@espguitarz1 I don't think this is the case. As mentioned above, the main reason is the shelf display tends to be most important for builders, and without making the ship to minifig scale (neither T-6 is minifig scale), they chose to shrink the cockpit/interior so the exterior looks nice. With a ship of that scale, you can't have both a minifig scale interior and proportional exterior. You have to choose. The only solution to this, of course, is to have a full model, which is why the more famous ships (like Luke's X-Wing) have a smaller playset ship and the full minifig scale ship.
It may not be what you want, but that's the reality of the scale they are marketing toward. Or do you want all the sets to either be larger interiors with bad proportions, or do you want them to be 3x as expensive to be full minifig scale?
@@gelatinguyyeah exactly. With this ship I don’t think you could even get to minifig scale without going full UCS, and even then Lego isn’t strong enough as a material to both incorporate the interior and look good on the outside at that sizd
@@Rievax17 One thing I'd like to see Lego do more often is to "Polly Pocket" a ship, which is what I call it when the interior doesn't match the exterior, but it's a fun playset inside. So make the outside look like a nice ship, then crack open the ship like a clam shell and have the interior be the cockpit or whatever is most interesting.
That box size difference is wild
Well everyone keeps buying these sets no matter how overpriced they've been so it's no wonder the new sets are always noticeably worse in ways that make zero sense.
I love and miss the OG clone wars line. Just seeing the old clone wars sets is kinda nostalgic now. I miss when they paid more attention to that series. But maybe that's just me
Yeah same here
🥲🥲🥹
Yo be fair, the reason they paid so much attention to TCW is because it was the only new Star Wars thing at the time.
Now we have all these D+ shows to make sets for. Couldn’t just be Clone Wars forever aha.
@@spargsyrebooted ik haha. Just sucks
@spargsyrebooted and we are getting a $650 UCS Venator in a month so I don't think it's been completely forgotten
I prefer the original clone wars shuttle with the 4 jedi but the new one still looks great
He’s still pumpin out peak content every day
Honestly I think each set is equally good in their own ways
Keep it up Ryan!
Lego really should've added a extra stud to make it a rounded 600 pieces! 😅
I honestly prefer the rigid wing spin motion, it is really hard to get the Ahsoka shuttle to stay in one position, and the wing lock on the old one solves this issue perfectly
I think the downsized cockpit is a deal breaker for me. Major issue, and it really gives the ship a "small-scale" vibe. The immersion is broken, so to speak. Even though overall the new ship's design is nicer and the storage is good, the 1-minifigure space for the cockpit is just plain bad/inaccurate. This lack of space in the ships is a terrible trend recently - from Boba Fett's ship to this. What happened to creativity, like the one used for design of Razor Crest or Transport Scythe? I'd rather this ship to be $30-$40 more expensive but nail the interior space. It would be perfect then.
100% see where your are coming from here, but I will say with the scale they went the small cockpit does look good and a bigger cockpit wouldn’t look right. That being said I agree they should have made a bigger set entirely so more figures could fit in a larger scaled cockpit.
@@brennanhickey9156 scale is arbitrary… they could have scaled it up or down however they wanted. It could have gone Mando Gauntlet design and had two figures fit length wise too.
The 2011 Jedi Shuttle can spin just as well as the 2023, just by moving ahead that little piece that creates the friction.
That’s not what lego intended though. I do prefer the more froction though
@@Vor1ki same.
the underbelly does really matter if u want to display while it's spinning or somthing. I like the vertical look
For the record: u can indeed fit all four figs in there 😮💨
For $80 I’d want them to address the under side of the wings. It’s otherwise a great looking model. Might wait to see if I ends up on sale.
I hear that.
I was all excited to get one, then saw the bland as shit under carriage.
I’ll wait
Same, I was thinking it would be neat to display this ship in "flight mode" with the wings vertical like we see most of the time on screen. But lego ignoring the underwings basically kill that option.
i actually prefer the simpler design of the older model. it's way more clean and displayable, plus the new one has so many tiny little pieces that create a cluttered look
Your comparison series are always some of my favorite videos you make! Especially in this video, the quality is great and more importantly the video is timeless! Great work Ryan! I like both the sets and will get the new 1!
Thanks for the comparison. Never got the old one but I'm excited to get the new one. $80 is a great value for this set. I can see any or all of these minifigures being valuable years in the future. Getting this on sale for an investment seems like a good idea. Best ashoka minifig ever, remake of a classic rebels character, first ever version of a clone wars character, and a mysterious character whose revealed identity could increase its value. Seems like a win especially on sale.
I like the new one better because the old one js had an UGH cockpit(it was oversized)
I’m a really big fan of the dark grey and red of the new one. It just looks so modern and satisfying. To bad it’s just a little to small, banger mini figs tho.
So glad you displayed the T-6 with the wing angled down to touch the tabletop, that's the best look imo for display.
Ahsoka show version of the T-6 features an extra engine and that rear turret. The Clone Wars and Rebels models didn’t have that.
I like the new one’s body shaping more, the old one is super simple and round looking. I like the angles of the new one.
A bigger cockpit would need a bigger set, the next appropriate cockpit would be one like the Falcon uses. And I think they’d have to scale up the wings and body for it to not look too funny.
wow this is an excellent video. camera work, script, and content were all top notch. good stuff
Yay more daily uploads thank you 🎉. Although I was expecting him to make a comparison of this set I wasn’t expecting it to be so soon thank you Ryan. 👍
Love the comparisons man! Another daily upload let’s go!!!!!!
I was thinking you'd upload this video tomorrow for the daily uploads but nope! You're killing it man!
ive been waiting for this video for MONTHS! FINALLY!
I do wish they added detail to the underside of the wings. I would normally display it on the ceiling to make it look like its actively flying, however its more difficult where the ome side is too bland. I may just hang it on my wall instead
I still have my 2011 one and I will be getting this one!!
The one thing I can say for sure about the two T-6 is that the builds are heavily limited due to their price point. Which makes me wonder ships like the Justifier gets $170 while a big ship like the T-6 is reduced to a star fighter sized set.
Man your content is always on point bro! keep up the great work!!!
this comparison reminded me how much we need a new Shaak Ti minifigure
I miss when we used to get different characters in the top of the box arts to indicate what was big in Star Wars at the time.
Great review. Can’t wait to get this one. Thanks 😊
Great comparison vid, nice to see!
This is a perfect example of shrinkflation. It has more pieces and costs more but is smaller. Lego uses TONS of small pices to achieve detail that I'd rather have done with stickers. There's also thr cockpit. The new one looks like something somebody would actually sut in but the old one was bigger and when it comes to toys, bigger is better.
Love these comparison videos
Sweet video!🔥
Bro i have Just seen this on my fyp i havent seen you in 4 years .Bro hope you do even better hope you get to 1million subs bro.
The 2023 T-6 has a double layered win: they could have "simply" flipped that layer to make it less horrendous on the underside. Huge miss, but to be expected at the price point, as making such a flip stable would be more involved.
Great video and comparison 😊
I agree the newer one is objectively a better set but that white and red color scheme just looks so clean.
I think it is a decent visual distinction between the eras. A clean Jedi Order era shuttle vs an older modded one post-Empire.
They definitely designed it to look junkier in Ahsoka than it did in the animated shows.
I actually like the older lightsaber blades better. Maybe it's just nostalgia but if they didn't have bubbles I think they'd be perfect.
The new one has better detailed figures, and I like that the center has some good bulk. The old one has it seems more correct colors, and it is larger. Not to mention that they used red on both sides for the old one.
I still think I prefer the 2023
The wings on the old one really are only meant to be seen from the top. The red panels on the underside are only there to accent the top side and give it a red trim around the edge from the top view. The bottom view of the old one is pretty bad.
I wish they’d done like the Mandalorian fighter and paneled the bottom of the new one.
Very nice comparison peak quality and easy to understand
This is probably my favorite Lego Star Wars set. I LOVE this ship.
just got this set at a local convention for only $65, feels way more appropriate of a price
I think if they kept the size the same and made even the slightest attempt to color-match the underside of the ship to the front side than that $80 price point would make perfect sense.
Going to Brickfest Tampa tomorrow! Hope there’s some cool Lego stuff there!
Hell yeah i was waiting for comparisons of this upcoming wave
It's really hard to choose in that competition, because both models have their own good sides.
probably one of the best examples of how lego has changed over the years imo
0:04 dude that voice crack lol
Nice new rating set up, Ryan, but i want the paper and pen version back!! lol
Good job on the video 👍
I just love comparisons
bro i was gonna take a break from buying legos but as soon as i saw this i was like i gotta have this
Maybe I'm alone in this but I honestly prefer flick fire over stud shooters. Ideally I prefer a designed weapon over either but I understand that playability is an important feature. I personally feel that most sets incorporated flick fires into the design of sets in a more visually pleasing way than most stud shooters.
I remember when the t-6 shuttle came out in 2011, it was the first and only set with Shaak Tii.
When it comes to display, for me its more important how accurate a model is than how detailed it is.
Yes the old one isn't as detailed, but it's a multi-seater. It's a shuttle, not a fighter, it should be a multi-seater. I give display to the old one.
They're smaller. They're always...smaller 😕 inflation works both ways I guess 😪
"...Spinning is a good trick..." should've seen that line coming lol
Personally, I prefer the original: the wing undersides and (to a lesser degree) the smaller cockpit are- to me- unforgiveable. I also have nostalgia for the original, as my brother has one and I love classic Clone Wars sets.
Old seems more accurate on what we see in the media, i think also new one is overly detailed, i love bigger cockpit, and engines in old one looks better too. Minifigures wise i love both, but details in new one are way better and amazing! So old ship with new crew ;)
I think this is a great review. Some might disagree with the conclusions but they are clearly a matter of opinion. Even if you disagree with them, there is loads of information here to help you draw up your own. And there is no filler viewing the box from very angle or flicking through lots of instruction pages.
Can't unsee the 2x3 inverted dark red slopes on the underbelly you put the wrong way on 2023's version :P
I like the new design but white and dark red would have looked really sweet
Thanks for sharing another QR code 😊
Haven't bought a set since at te but the figs in this might have sold me
Mandr do we get an update on the guy who collects every single LEGO Star Wars set in prestine condition?
(Don’t mind some spelling mistakes, English isn’t my first language)
10:40 They SET it apart from the old one? 😂😂😂 Nice, Ryan.
i remember when the old set came out and i miss those sets id happily buy both for $80
May I assume the 2 2x3 inverted Slopes in the centerpart of the rotatable wings are placed the wrong way round?
“Would rather forget” ?!
Don’t insult my boy the flick fire missile like that 😭😂
on the show, when the wings rotate on the ship, how does the ship's underside look? Is it plain?
Are you able to edit the set so that you could slot the old cockpit into it?
Might have to open my 1st T-6 shuttle from but i will be getting the new set as I love the figs. Is the new cockpit print meant to be white but looks grey due to a poor print? Herer in New Zealand we paid $130 for the 1st set and $140 for the new 2nd set.
Erm I actually have a 2011 t6 in pieces somewhere. Was a kid who liked to take apart sets 😅😅😅
Ask MNR. Do you think that we'll get a captain Rex in a less expensive set next year, and what set do you think that would be I think Rex's bomber would be awesome. Keep up the amazing work!
ASK MANDR do you know any places to buy cheap lord of the rings and hobbit sets also should i buy the hoth at-st first or the snow trooper battle pack since their both retiring this yearr
Bro I also did not think lego would re visit this ship but hey here we are
I have a 75012 sealed set mint box any idea how much do this go now?
2:05 As a kid I always just called that lightsaber yellow.
I love the newer mini figures. Even though the inquisitor has a black head, I feel like he’s one of, if not the best mini figure in this wave.
Lego has obviously gotten more technologically advanced and so is able to make their sets more movie accurate in terms of design, but apart from that I'd say the 2011 set trumps the 2023 set in every way. The 2011 set had more play features, it was bigger, it looked cooler (even if less accurate) and while the minifigures were obviously less detailed back then, the variety of minifigures is significantly better than the 2023 set. I'd also personally set the big engines of the older set look way better than the newer ones, and I've always preferred the flick-fire missiles to the stud shooters. In fact this is the first time I've heard anyone say they disliked flick-fire missiles or liked stud shooters lol. The smooth spinning of the new set can be a plus but it can also be a nuisance as it turns by itself when there is a slight bit of uneven weight distribution, I don't know about the old set's turning.
This is coming from someone who owns the 2023 set but not the 2011 set.
Dang didn’t realize just how small the new one is until I see it next to the old one
How is the set with fewer pieces is both bigger and has more room in the cockpit?
I watch MandR set reviews to justify my pre-orders that I made rashly 😅 glad this one'll be good!
Celui de 2011 est un des premier set que j’ai eu donc je l’aime particulièrement
With one old & two new, would a UCP version be possible?
Atleast you could find the flick firer after shooting it
These two remind me of the mandalorion Star fighter in a lot of ways
I'm terrible at designing myself, but I wonder how good of one could be made out of two new sets?
i like the red and grey because it looks more realistic, i mean these ships fly tru space and land on various planets. they will get dirty and gritty and the color will degrade so i think the grey is better then white.
I prefer the new one but the old set is still very nice.
I like the colors and minifigures from the new Shuttle more :) Nice comparison btw. ;)
8:13 the two slope pieces on the 2023 version behind the cockpit are backwards
I've had the 2011 set when I was still a kid and thought it was the coolest shit ever, it's a bit nostalgic to see it again though it definitely aged lmao. I like the new one, I agree with you about the cockpit, at the very least it would have been nice to fit both Sabine and Ahsoka inside, otherwise it feels more like a glorified star fighter than a shuttle. But appart from that, it looks awesome and the minifigures look insane.
I like that the 2023 one is only about 1 stud smaller in each direction.
44 wide VS 38 wide, so that's a width of 3 on each side.
Well I need to find all the pieces to my OG T-6 set. Younger me thought it would be great to destroy it.
“The stud shooter…bañg” - Ryan 2023
this is the most positive ive ever seen ryan
Can you do a comparison between the two ghosts
