They don’t count the people not even looking for work or people who’s have been out longer than 6 months which would make it higher than 3.9%
Many are waiting for give me give take care if me, mentality.
There are millions of open jobs. Get qualified or zip it.
They are double-counting the underemployed as two workers to get to this unemployment number, as the reporter explained in the video.
Exactly. Unemployment is much, much higher -- like 15% (or more). Many people no longer counted.
@@kimberlylepine5115 No, that's a wrong assessment. If that's the case, then the @UEN would much higher.
IRRELEVANT... JUST KEEP SENDING BILLIONS MORE OF EVERYONE'S TAX DOLLARS TO OTHER COUNTRIES. ...
Especially ones who keep going to war. So that way they'll flush our money down the toilet along with our morals for us. No need to worry pesky things like housing here guys.
But people keep voting for the same people who are screwing them. We are our own enemy
The real unemployment rate is probably three or four times that amount.
It’s not 4% that’s bullshit more like 20-25% just like how when you search average salary in America and it says $58,000 when the minimum federal wage is $7.50 doesn’t take a math genius to figure out it isn’t that high.
We are in a recession wtf are yall talking about
Been in Recession for a good while. They don't know Jack.
Yes we are
Been in Recession since 2020.
@@makedredd299 oh aren’t you funny. Don’t remember crops dying because there weren’t any migrants to pick em? Costs went up. Then lumber. Then toilet paper. Then a lot of grocery items were missing. Yep I've been homeless since the pandemic. I'm living in an old Toyota Sienna minivan now. Just can't afford anything anymore.
Over 50% of Americans think we’re in a recession. I’m in that group

Companies sending alot of jobs to India & Mexico, especially remote jobs.
Good!!!
This is true including professional jobs. Accounting and tax jobs going there. They have testing centers there that permits them to be license including getting the CPA designation. The pay they get is $10,000 USD a year.

I went grocery shopping yesterday at a local market where I shop. All the prices of food have increased by at least .50. No produce on sale either; there used to be a special every week for vegetables that are in season. Not any longer. I buy and cook the food in my household, and the amount of price increases over this past year is criminal.
I feel you I went in the store for a damn bag of chips and almost ALL of them were 5-6$ like what!?!?! 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
I want to agree in principle but believe it or not, prices at the right grocer in a low tax state have hardly moved up at all. Produce is amazingly unchanged from pre-pandemic era.
Take my local supermarket chain:Stop&Shop, they filed chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and are closing underperforming stores!!
I've been homeless since the pandemic. I'm living in an old Toyota Sienna minivan now. Just can't afford anything anymore. This economy is broken.
I'm so lonely and depressed everyday while trying to do Instacart grocery deliveries to people with homes... That's what I get for working and contributing to society... My resentment is building...
Save up for an apartment or room in a cheap town.
With a smartphone? Internet is free in your country. You could study at Harvard, MIT, or Stanford today and learn an employable skill. How are you homeless?
@@OrdinaryMan1999-tn4hh I'm not saving anything like this dude... I'm going crazy trying to live like this and I'm barely surviving or keeping up with bills. I can't even sleep without worrying about someone trying to open my van doors in parking lots or on the streets. It's already happened before. It's just so difficult to function now. Plus apartments and rooms are unaffordable anyway. Even if I could afford it, I'd rather not throw all that money away. I hate this planet.
@@Ricocase Dude I work and pay bills... I just can't afford proper housing anymore. Also I come from a very broken family full of problems and poverty, and raised by my angry single mother. Then my mom lost the house and died of cancer. Then I lost my housing two more times during the pandemic. I never got a chance to start a career or a family.
So much for what the government keeps saying, when they say job market is great
It IS, mooch.
Yeah, try to find a good paying job now. You can't. The listed jobs are just fake ones, and no one is hiring.
People are having to get multiple jobs just to be able to eat. This is called “ living to work”. And they wonder why children bring guns to school? What parent can even find the time to raise their children correctly? Not here in the USA obviously. Too busy working.
Correction: Depression 2.0
Yes the gaslighting media is starting to shed some light on it
I have never had to gamify my grocery spending this much to feed my family on budget every month. $4 fees at the movie theater are not the problem here. I have to buy food for my family. I don't have to go to the movies.
Be ready. It is going to get worse. There is another war that is brewing offshore, and America will probably be dragged into it. So, everything is going to Hell in handbag, quickly.

That number has always been manipulated down those are the people that have been looking for work within the last six months after that they are not counted

Nationally it's 23%. Near 2008 crash levels. Axios just explained the real numbers.
Make that 6.5 million +1 unemployed. 🙋♂️
+2!
They don't show the real numbers. That would prove we are too deep in a hole. They want Americans blindly working crap jobs until they die. People still don't know this and lick the boots of rich ceos and politicians. But hey not me.
Uh oh
They denied me benefits due to the way I was fired. I've been applying. Met a recruiter in the gym. He told me my resume wasn't up to standard. Fixed my resume. Showed him. He liked it. Applied again. Still no dice! The Job Market is WILD!
According to the Biden Administration unemployment is at an all-time low😂 I drive for a living and I see all these unemployed people driving around aimlessly clogging up the roads
Hahaha ok. Nice fantasy. Please seek help.
Yes, exactly. Same way in Houston. Lot of cars on the highway in middle of the day. Even large amount of traffic, means many people are unemployed and not counted.

Is it possible some of these unemployed are people suffering through addiction?
Some but, not all. However the economy still sucks addiction or not.
You're just dying to find an easy answer. Face it - America sucks at everything.
Why are we letting millions of asylum seekers in that say they came here specifically to work? Put these unemployed people to work. Even Costo has had to raise prices. Joe Biden has had some bad luck but he has also made a lot of mistakes and the country is ready to move on. The only question is are we ready to go back to the future with Trump. It kind of seems possible/likely.
We r doomed either way.
God I hope not. The stress was awful. Hate was born during the past presidents administration. So much hate and ugliness came out of that time. We are better than that

@@solaris808 Yes, Trump made America much worse. I'm a life-long Republican, and I am not going to ever vote for him again. I did 2016, and I regret my vote.
Biden inflation
No it’s Trump inflation. Trump handed stimulus checks and stupid people used the money for down payments on houses and cars thus driving the cost up and they bought electronic they didn’t need. Then after Trump locked us down, no one wanted to work so businesses were forced to increase wages and sign on bonuses thus driving the cost of EVERYTHING up. This was during Trump!!!!! Not Biden.
It’s Trumps fault not Bidens.
the dollar was devalued 58% under Trump
I’m not unemployed. I’m retired. My granddaughter just got her first job at Burger King and they started her off at $19.85 an hour.
That’s insane. 40k a year for flipping burgers…
Which means inflation is lagging and is about to skyrocket into hyperdrive yet again... Nothing drives inflation harder than high wages and the wages can never keep up. You won't be retired for long unless you have in excess of 6 million, which is statistically extremely unlikely.
@@curly__3 Trump caused this nightmare along with stupid people. Handed out stimulus checks and stupid people used the money for down payments on cars and houses and bought electronics they didn’t need. This driving the price of everything up. Then after lockdown, no one wanted to work. So businesses offered higher wages with sign on bonuses. Then food and what not went up as well. It’s Trumpnomics not Bindenomics.

I looked for a job recently and discovered almost every single job I applied for is a dead ghost job posting.
when I see videos like this, I am just reminded how thankful I am to have a job
after graduation
6 months to find my first business job
got laid off after 3 months
6 months of applying every week to get into another full time job and I am now 6 months into it
I havemassive respect for anyone going 6 months or longer without a job
it's not easy, it can be depressing, but we gotta keep on grinding
Actually less spending will allow the fed reserve to lower interest rates and fix inflation. This isnt such a big deal.
You can’t have inflation and also be in a recession. That’s not how it works. Right now we have too many dollars still chasing too few goods. Inflation is coming down but it hasn’t stabilized yet. A recession can’t begin until we start seeing price drops are high u employment. That hasn’t happened yet and probably won’t this year.

6.5 million sounds like a big number, but 253 million is a much bigger one. That refers to the estimate of adults in the US. 🤷🏻
But, many of those are not counted in workforce, due to age, retirement, military service, etc. So, that's not the workforce number. The @WFN is a lot smaller, so the 6.5m is bigger percentage.
@@PoeLemic well how many of those are the lazy ones versus people that legitimately are having a hard time getting work? And military is counted as part of the workforce.
@@TheLastLineLive lazy ones? You can not be serious…
@@rj-mc4koyou don’t think there aren’t people who are lazy? I mean isn’t it conservatives that always go on about welfare queens? Not saying there’s a lot of them, but there has to be SOME.
@@TheLastLineLive I agree. Forgive me. When I said what I said, there are lazy people, but I believe the vast majority of people unemployed do want to work to sustain themselves without government welfare. However, there are those outliers that try to take advantage of the system.

And they don’t count the people that don’t get unemployment and don’t work wat so ever wonder how many people actually not working 🤦♂️
It's not about how we FEEL. It's about looking at our bank account numbers go down and our bills number up. Plain and simple.
The economy is doing very badly for most Americans. And the real statistics are always much higher than the official numbers. Just look at the comments on this board, too, for example. Everyone knows it's bad.
In short, the Federal Reserve will lower interest rates and forget about 2% inflation which was made up by some economist from Australia
Yeah especially when you see a job posting from an hour ago with over 100 applicants
Imagine what the real number would be if they included all within a household (not just head of household), the homeless and those who maxed out for unemployment and got kicked off. 🧐
It’s higher than that, we’ve also been in a recession for three years, don’t trust government numbers.
It's awful. Some commodities are taking off in price again. Don't look for inflation to cool this summer, that's for sure. I'm thinking stuff starts really hitting the fan starting in the fall. That's when we'll start seeing a more sustained slowing. It's not if, but when.
Oh yeah thats great im really worried about travel costs and concerts.
There are job openings for sure but what are the quality of those jobs? They said it in the video, high paying openings are dwindling. Around me, almost every fast food place is 'now hiring' but thanks to inflation, we've gotten to a point where people working those types of jobs without family support, or a second job, makes them simply a waste of time. It isn't just fast food either, the local airport has more skilled jobs open - but with fast food pay. More employers than ever bank on desperate job seekers that they can pay poverty wages or they'll leave the jobs unfilled and push the work onto other employees.
