Good videos. Some constructive critisism would be to perhaps write out a script for your videos. It's frustrating to watch the video and wait for you to read the tooltips to help you collect your thoughts. You start to slow down and it feels like you don't know what you're talking about (you obviously do, just need some structure).
PVE raiding and dungeons are still part of the end game Abolisher is by far the best of these tanks you listed in that role. And they can still PVP. You forget things like shield slam and bull rush, you mention them but give them a real good credit and your videos which can help you walk down your opponent why are you beating them to death. And between lasso and implosion they rarely will escape.
@@gnome6969 The damage combo you have is the enervate earthen grip. Thats the only damage one that I can think off the top of my head besides some of the new defense combos. Id look at the combo thing in game :)
Love these videos, I’m coming back to archeage and I used to play blighter as I loved the balance between tank and dps, but now people are saying abolisher and blighter aren’t great anymore, idk if they nerfed defense or something? I’ve heard the argument that you made about them being good early game and not late game but why is that the case? Even if everyone gets better gear, one you as a abolisher be even more tanky as you catch up in gear?
Hello could you make a video talking about defense in 6.0? After examining it on the PTS I have come to realize it is COMPLETELY different from how I remember it. Things like redoubt being only 10s now, refreshment not existing, no ollos hammer, etc,etc. I see that it recieved humongous nerfs and it seems like melee classes that depended on the strength of defense: abolisher/blighter

Yup, if you plan on going main PvP then you should pick Skullknight or Abolished, they are better for it. If you plan on going PvE you can mess around a bit by using Hexblade, Paladin or other classes. Paladin is really good 1v1 tho.

What kind of armor or weapon? and how would I go about being pretty tanky and not squishy being I am old not to fast in the flexes. Survivability but yet with some speed to move around.
Im not a magic player but what you need to know is that this game is gear dependant as well. Sure you can mix match melee and magic skill trees but you also need to spec the gear for magic pen , physical pen , magix dmg , phys dmg , strenght , intelligence, you get it. As for a mage with sustain you can get two main dmg skill trees like sorcery and witchcraft or malediction and you can get a third skill tree as a support tree , you can choose vitalism or songraft for heals and buffs or defense whichcan self buff for more defense and such . Its up to you however you plat

You can go those for leveling, but they aren't going to be the fastest. If you want a good PvE class you can take off of those would be Pitfighter (Mal/Aura/Def), Mindslaver (Mal/Def/Occ), or Emissary (Mal/Aura/Occ). Those will all be things you can start out with that can be tanky and have same gear, would just have to change one skill tree to level later on (Which is really easy).

I'm a noob looking to go into nightcloak but I was wondering if anyone know what I should do for early leveling and where I should go into full nightcloak if I'm switching for optimization?

There are something like that but it won't be very good. It'll be too stretched across 3 different stats that you will just be below average in all of those categories.
During obsidian weapons that was possible because you'd have shortspear that have heal power, argent was pretty good pvp specially 1v1 now I don't think that's viable anymore
For tanking, not so much. Maybe in 1v1 can do decent but other classes will just outclass it. Now you can make it work, that is entirely possible, and most importantly in this game is play what you want and have fun. Just this class won't be the best in RvR.
Hopefully there’s an AOE style tank. I don’t mind if it takes a little longer to whittle down the mobs. The wife and I always roll tank and heals together. I know not all like WOW but it’s common to use those classes as analogous similarity for reference. So I’m looking for that Pally style consecrate style of AOE tanking. I loved Archeage back when it was awesome... before Trion destroyed it but it’s back now so I’m definitely in! ....well in que at least lol. I didn’t play tanks back then... I rolled that blade one that pretty much everyone played cause the pvp aspect being so strong. Now I don’t care about that as much and I love multi-mob pulls. So hopefully with my pocket heals I can come up with something that can do it.
Just a hint codex is outdated ...defence actualy now has alot of dmg because the shield skills now give % from max hp dmg and your video is outdated because you use an outdated skill set. Review it
Well actually I reviewed these builds from Korean in what they use in their meta right now. So some minor details might change in some of the skills in terms of stats. But other than that they are pretty good builds. Review it.

Change what you would like. And first of that 1-2%? That is NOTHING. of 60k HP that is 600 - 1200 damage... and that's if the players have 0 resistance. Recheck your numbers.

Also you could choose full plate as a mage for more defense and sustain but you will still be vulnerable to other magic users

Best bruiser would be abolisher but that typically won't wind up good late game.

I would say go Plate OR Cloth if you are doing that, just have intelligence on your pieces instead of stamina.

Battlerage and defense dmg skill. Defense does damage according to your max health (some skills) and CC breakers. That's pretty much it.

Hmmm... Out of curiousity, what are your thoughts on the Doomlord (Battlerage, Defense, and Occultism) class?
For tanking, not so much. Maybe in 1v1 can do decent but other classes will just outclass it. Now you can make it work, that is entirely possible, and most importantly in this game is play what you want and have fun. Just this class won't be the best in RvR.

It stopped being viable a while ago when they nerfed self heals to 70%.
So what about pve?
Any PvP class can usually farm pretty well. Just a couple skill changes.
