Hello, Cyprien! Thank You for shearing this tutorial, it’s pretty advanced. Quasi static problems are very interesting, and challenging to deal with. Our team solved some of them for nuclear industry, but I suppose this topic is relevant for aerospace industry, and many others.
Hi Cyprien. Would you ever do a FreeCad FEM vs Salome/Code_Aster comparison video? I'm planning ahead for when I leave Inventor and its ecosystem and I'm wondering if the FreeCad FEM workbench is good enough.
I really enjoy the way you explain the tutorial, but sir..is it possible to simulate strain deformation using this open source software? do you have any recommendation where can i learn it or which open source software is more applicable for strain deformation? my case is, iam trying to simulate hardness vicker test which required strain deformation. kind regards. again, i love your videos. :)
Hello Cyprien I have tried learning Code Aster but when I get stuck, I do not know how to interpret the errors and warnings. Interface of the software is English but messages are all in French. Can you please advise how people who do noth ave prior knowledge of French can handle the software. Thanks

Hi Cyprien, thank you very much for your extremely valuable series of videos on Code Aster and Salome. I am also starting to consider opensource FEA and I find these tools and possibilities outstanding. Based on your experience, do you think it is possible to setup a metal forming 3D simulation in Salome-Meca considering rigid tools, large deformations as well as material and contact non-linearities simultaneously? I browsed in their website and also online, but I did not find much. Would you have time and interest to maybe show us how to setup a basic deep-drawing or bending simulaiton in 3D? Thank you in advance and thanks for sharing your valuable knowledge, Cheers Lorenzo
Hello, Cyprien! Thank You for shearing this tutorial. I have downloaded med and comm files using shared link and imported it in Windows Salome 2021 version (Salome 9.7.0) as per instruction from video. Simulation did not run as expected, got the red status, in message window got this message “EXECUTION_CODE_ASTER_EXIT_1116=0” and got error in python window “ERROR: Copy failed: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: 'D:/Users/Vinod/Softwares/CodeAster_2018/Tutorial/Non_linear_plate/NL_plate_Files\\RunCase_1\\Result-RunCase_2_Stage_1\\NLplate” Any help regarding this will be very helpful.
This looks like an error of the windows version. Try to use the latest release. Windows version is not an official version, it has been created by a small consulting company using special cross compilation techniques. The best is to use the Linux one…
What a great video. Salome-Meca and Code-Aster are great software. Two pieces of art 💎.
Best regards from your #1 fan in México 🇲🇽.
Many thanks!

hello cyprien, how about the wind flow pattern with a hill shaped barrier using openfoam?

Yes, strain is one of the basic results you can calculate with any FEA software (including code_aster )
@@Feaforall do you have tutorial video to do strain deformation like hardness test sir?
@@Feaforall thank for reply sir

Yes it is possible and I do have an example ;-) I’ll think about it for the next video
