Lets not run away with the idea that government dont think of bottom line when they provide these services. Bristows have been handling SAR for the coast guard in UK since early 70s also several other countries & theyre very good at it, yes as good as RAF/RN. This deal brings in 22 state of the art new helicopters to replace ageing less capable aircraft as well extremely well trained crews. Don't see why it has to be a less capable service and lets see, it may even be better overall
The alarm sound is the pips for my schools lunch and break 😂😂
The thought of replacing these legendary men and women with an American company only interested in profit alone is one of the greatest atrocities I've ever seen. Bring back RAF/FAA SAR teams!
That’s the British government for you love to outsource everything
I love the seaking still miss the legend now my all time favourite aircraft
It's the people / Colleagues that's apart of that Squadron ...the ones that keep them in the Skies XXX
A britopinion i agree Bristows having been doing it for years and yes they are good at it
but its not Bristows its the crews, I have spent time with Sumburgh and Stornoway and a lot of friends in there as well
BUT
RAF has provided the best SAR in the world and am proud of them. FACT
this is not like buying a new car if does not work out it will be 2 late the service will have gone
2019???????????????????
obviously
2021
Privatisation of search and rescue is a disaster in the making. Also, the first step towards the dystopian future of RoboCop.
Dum, local only know what they need.
Rich retired Genrals get off your bottoms and make a company (Ask a Posh Accountant friend) to bid for the contract.
