    It's funny how back in 93 they had to research everything in books. It's funny to recall a time when we didn't have access to the instant information we have today with the internet. That's the most fascinating part of this.

    "The Double Helix novel Double or Nothing stated that another ancestor of Riker's was an important early Federation statesman.
    Will's middle name, Thomas, was not established until TNG: "Second Chances", although his middle initial was given in TNG: "Encounter at Farpoint". Before this, the novel Imzadi gave his middle name as "Thelonius", perhaps after Thelonius Monk, to reflect his love of jazz."

    "Thomas" was apparently Riker's middle name, as in DS9 3x09 - Defiant.

      Not really. It's pretty liberating. No different than having your own youtube channel nowdays full of comments and opinions.
